It was the day after the incident in the corridor with the paper dragon and the other random come-to-life paintings and instead where most students would of been scared witless and transferred back to their old school, Nancy seemed to of forgotten all about her ordeal with the crumpled little child and the rip where in panic she had kicked it fully in the chest. She hadn't yet seen any of the others who were present at the time but she had not really been on the lookout for them either, all she wanted to do was play games to keep her mind off of it.
What if she did keep recalling what happened the night before? It would slowly take over her and it would be all that she would think about. Still, she was thinking about it and it was definately not forgotten, a tell-tale sign was her hair normally a vibrant flame red was now pure white all over, a sign that Nancy was stressed. If you cared to look any closer, you would also notice her normally topaz cheeky eyes were now pale blue, her natural colour. The event had certainly rattled her cage, but she would be good at pretending if it wasn't for her damn metamorphmagus ability.
Heaving a sigh as she sat on the freezing stone bench with a younger Gryffindor named Bertie, they played Exploding snap together. The kid seemed to be lonely and was playing it by himself before hand, and to kill two birds with one stone, she thought it best to play with him. No point in exploding cards in your face on purpose, right? A loud crack shocked her out of her daze, causing her hair to turn like a flash bright blue before returning back to white once again and she jumped as her glazed eyes flicked from looking at the stone bench to the boy as he yelled in delight. "You're pretty good at this arn't you, kid?" she said, offering him a half-hearting smile as she ruffled his head.
"Is there anyway you can change my hair colour to Gryffindor red, Nanc?" he asked inquisitively as he lay another card down to restart the game. With a chuckle, her hand still ruffling his hair, she patted his shoulder before playfully pushing her cheek with her finger. This was the third time he had asked if she could change one of his body parts, the other times were he wanted a hook for a left hand and he wanted a frog tongue, heaven knows why and she didn't dare ask. "No can do mate, I can't inject you with my blood, you never know what diseases you might catch" she replied which made him stick his tongue out in a 'yukky' kind of way. "I can always find you a beauty spell and we can try it that way? Maybe you'd be better off casting it though, my wand is a little... tempremental"

Practically banished from her own house Angel took to walking around the corridors which was a pretty dangerous thing to do lately. Word had gotten out about her being spotted hanging out with a Gryffindor a cardinal sin to most Slytherins. So anytime she was in the common room most of the students made her life a living nightmare. Calling her names, hissing at her, pulling pranks like magically chopping of her hair. She could take all that but it did annoy her. She just couldn't stand being call a Gryffindor lover. That was an absolute lie, then again she did hang with Sarie and not make her miserable once.
People had to know she didn't have a soft spot for Gryffs. Whatever it was had to do with the strange goings on within the castle walls. It just seemed like the more the chaos went on the more her personality changed. Being nice was not the norm for Angelique she prided herself on being a complete witch but lately she's been sweet to practically everyone and it was irking the heck out of her but she couldn't stop herself. So now she was an outcast in her own house. Slytherins were probably the most disloyal house in the whole school. If one didn't bow down and conform to the Slytherin was then they were treated like parasites and told they didn't belong. What pride they should feel for that, she thought bitterly.
Walking the corridors had gotten boring. Paintings were screaming at her but she didn't have enough fight in her to yell back. Plus she was feeling claustrophobic being cooped up inside the castle. Who cared if there were other Slytherins out and about, why should she hide like a coward in the shadows. Instead she turned to walk out into the light.
The courtyard was a usual meeting place for just about everyone. Even some professors enjoyed coming out there to get cozy. Right now it wasn't teaming with people but something had caught her eye. A girl she had never ever seem before. Yes, its not like she knew every kid who walked the halls but she knew enough. This face was terribly unfamiliar. This was a good thing actually, new girl wouldn't know Angle's reputation and would have no need to cower or demand she not come any closer. Could work, she thought while making her approach.
Standing only a few feet she said again way too politely "Hello there, haven't seen you around here before are you new? I'm Angelique by the way." Sometimes even her own voice didn't sound like hers anymore. There was a younger boy there too and he eyes Angel suspiciously, there was a time she would have yelled at him and cursed him with some evil curse but she couldn't do it and it was so damn irritating because she smiled at him instead.

Patience. A trait that apparantely Hufflepuffs held. Nancy didn't really see herself as patient, but now she realised that the sorting hat probably found that her patience and calm temper lay within her especially when she was playing games. Being bunged into a certain house group because of your personality was rather odd for her but she had yet to find the effects of such labelling. She found herself being extremely patient with this boy, there was no reason not to be. They were both loners at the current time and what sort of person would she be if she dismissed him like he was a piece of trash? They were both sort of using each other if you looked at it that way, but the kid was cute so she would not ignore him when she saw him in the corridors or around Hogwarts. Besides, it was nice to of made a friend already, even if he was a second year.
Bang. The cards exploded once again and this time her absentmindedness caused the bang to go off as she was laying down her next card and shocking her finger. "Oww!" she gasped shaking the pain from her hand before sucking on the end of her finger. "Are you alright Nanc!?" the boy enquired looking at her finger from a few different angles as she pulled it out and began cradling it. His eyes glanced over her finger and although the quick shock had now gone and she was fine, Nancy gave a short laugh. "I'm not bleeding Bert, and it's not multicoloured..." she said shaking her head in disbelief. The boy still continued to watch her finger as if willing to call her a liar and see if her blood really was like a spectrum of colour as it came out.
A voice made her look up as a girl stood next to the boy and for a moment Nancy thought maybe it was his sister before looking at her robes and seeing an emerald snake pinned to her chest. From what Bert had told her Gryffindors and Slytherins didn't get on...Slytherins liked nobody but their own sort. Another mind boggling fact for Nancy to process. "Oh, hi there" she smiled, being reassured about what Bert had told her as both students glared at each other for a second before she lay another card down and looked back at the girl. "You noticed huh? I'm Nancy, fresh from Beauxbatons the school for the stuck-up's. It's nice to meet you Angelique" Or maybe not...

Angel stood back and watched the girl putting up with the younger boy who was still eying her. Angel cocked her head to the side wondering why he couldn't stop staring. Angel sighed, her reputation had proceeded her at least with this kid or he just didn't trust her because she was a Slytherin. Whatever the case it was rude to stare that way. "Perhaps a picture would be best they last a lot longer then you can have me to look at whenever you like" these words were said in a joking way, but she was actually annoyed.
At least the girl didn't seem to have the some preconceived notions. She spoke to Angel like a human being. Angel learned that she was a transfer from Beauxbaton. Angel's eyes lit up. That was the school she wanted to go to more than anything, but her mother couldn't bear to have her farther than Hogwarts. That's where she'd be right now if it wasn't for interfering meddling parents. For once Angel envied someone else.
"Beauxbaton really? Why in the world did you leave to come here?" she couldn't help the longing that came from her voice. That was the school she figured she was better suited for, since she never seemed to really fit in here at Hogwarts nor did she really love it here at Hogwarts.
But she didn't want to make it sound like she hated it here so she amended her statement "I mean with so much going on here. The school isn't really safe at the moment. I'm sure you've heard the rumors and all that. The school is going crazy, portraits out of control, suits or armor attacking students, and people's personalities going all crazy" she added that last bit meaning it for herself.

Nancy could feel the slight tension as soon as Angelique showed up between her and the little boy. They had locked eyes and Nancy was sure that it would only take the blink of an eye before these two were locking horns and cursing each others butts. She gulped back a small lump before she gave a nervous chuckle to ease the tension and covered Bertie's eyes and turned his head away slightly to look away from the gaze of the girl, somehow it reminded her of not looking into the eyes of Medusa and she was somehow protecting him by making him look away. "It's rude to stare Bert, go on off with you. You won this game but just wait until we play Gobstones with me, you'll be history" she grinned before sticking her tongue out at him as he did to her. "See ya Nanc!!" he said before she ruffled his hair and he tutted before walking away now with a spring in his step.
Nancy looked back to the girl and slid up the bench, patting the spot where the young Gryffindor had just been before she swung her leg over the bench so she was almost straddling the stone. "Beauxbatons just wasn't for me I guess, i'm not a typically girly girl and I suppose because I don't prefer to wear dresses and stilletto's that never really quite fit in. It was good to be able to change my hair at a whim though, the other girls were jealous of that" she smirked, replaying the memories of their prom nights where she had changed her hair from it's usual red to vibrant and shiny blonde flowing locks that made her look like an actual fairytale princess. She had done it for a laugh, but most of the other girls were seething at how Nancy Talula Wolfe the usual ugly duckling, outshone them on that particular night.
She gave a knowing lopsided smile before she answered Angelique once again. Hmm, boring Beauxbatons or Happening Hogwarts? Nancy was one for adventure and this opportunity seemed like the greatest escapade of all. "Exactly" she simply replied as her grin continued to widen. She wiped away the remainds of the exploding snap game and watched as the blackened ash and incinerated cards fell to the floor in scraps. "So, Angelique" she begun before giving a pause and offering a smile.

The top of her head was itching, this wasn't a good sign it meant that she was getting pissed, because from the itching would come a red face. The red face wasn't pretty and that made her more upset. For several weeks now that red face had been held at bay. This new nice Angel didn't have it in her to get that mad but this little boy just seemed determined to make the red face reappear. Sneering at him the things she could do to make him suffer were ticked off one by one in her mind like a grocery list. The last things she saw was the brat at the bottom of the lake as a meal for the squid. That one made her smile, but just as quickly as she thought it she felt bad about it. Again whatever was going on effected her in ways she really didn't like.
People were going to think she had gone soft, hell she knew she had gone soft. There wasn't a real explanation for it that made it harder to deal with and digest. So instead she tried to fogert about it but that little rat boy was making it hard. Just when she felt that she was going to snap Nancy scooted him off away from them. Relief flooded her at this moment. The monster that was lurking within waiting to come out, wanting to come out retreated.
Angel's face smoothed out making her look like her old pretty self again. The other girl moved over giving Angel room to sit. Grateful she smiled taking it. "Thanks for making him go I guess it's hard for anyone to imagine a Slytherin being friendly to anyone without some ulterior motive. He probably thought I was going to hex you or something but I have no intention on doing so at least not today. OK that was a joke just a joke," Didn't want this girl thinking she was going to do something to her.
"I don't know I've been here at Hogwarts since my first year. I suppose I never felt I belonged here. I'm a Slytherin and with that comes certain beliefs, beliefs ingrained into you since the moment you can understand your first words. I think it might have been easier being somewhere where everyone thought the same way. I know how narrow-minded that sounds but if you were in a place like that then you wouldn't have to worry about what others thought because their thoughts weren't that dissimilar from yours. I don't know does that make any sense?" She felt bad saying it but it's how she felt. The only place she could say what she wanted and behave the way she was expected was in Slytherin house everywhere else she was just evil. Having others not solely in her own house thinking that way too might make her feel less outsider looking in.
