Humming an invented tune in her normal subdued tone, Mona sat on the stone windowsill of the castle overlooking the courtyard in front of her. She picked at the trellis leaves and began pulling out the veins of mottled brown leaf before it was picked into so many small pieces that it was physically impossible to separate them anymore. Letting most of the debris fall to the floor as she leant over to pick a small yellow flower that was trying to hide behind a stalk, some stayed on her lap. Lifting the flower closer to inspect it she admired its downy surface on its dull green stem and narrowed her eyes to the slight silvery white hairs covering it. Why did a flower need hairs? The simple observation stunned her, if possible, into more silence.
She did not care enough to ponder on it for a moment longer and she simply shrugged herself from thought and continued what she was doing before thought engulfed her. Resting her hands in her lap for support, she stroked each petal before finally pulling it off right at the last second almost sadistically teasing the blossom. Hearing a sudden uproar Mona took the time to look up almost smoothly, as if she had been expecting a sudden commotion to erupt. A young Gryffindor had won a game of exploding snap against a seething Ravenclaw. As usual the Gryffindor began gloating and celebrating his minor success, baiting the Ravenclaw who in return gritted his teeth but refused to rise to the jibs of the other house member who was now jumping up and down in between the bodies of some of his fellow housemates whooping and cheering. It must of been a big deal to win against a Ravenclaw and it was when the Ravenclaw turned around that Mona realised they had made an ‘Exploding Snap’ Club. Mona found herself smirking slightly as the Sapphire robes walked away in defeat and looked back down to her petals which were now a assembled into some sort of yellow quilt covering her lap.
The scene she had just witnessed began replaying in her head and Mona found herself with her head down but her eyes slowly lifted up and she watched the crowd through her eyelashes as if it were a safety barrier. She found the happiness the Gryffindors were revelling in quite contagious as she began to feel bubbly within herself. She thought about going over to congratulate them but then she realised why there was an invisible safety barrier there. Gryffindors and Slytherins were not exactly the best of friends. Sighing at her misfortune, she lifted her legs off the trellis that she was using to keep herself up and she slid off the windowsill, bending slightly as her feet hit the stone ground.
Giving one last glance at the horde she swayed her head as she was about to round the corner straight into the doorway. Jumping back slightly as she narrowly missed head butting someone, her eyes enlarged and dilated in surprise at the almost oncoming collision and simply stood there for a moment still slightly dizzy from the surprise arrival.

"Tig!" Pippa pounced diving upon her prey and shooting away before they could even turn, she heard Jenny's shouts, but she was away, lost in the dust, she imagined herself like the road-runner as she pelted along the corridors making good her escape. Tig throughout the entirity of the Hogwarts grounds, save the Forbidden forest itself, was ingenious, but hard work, especially when she'd been it twice already. Mainly because of her bad luck, plus she wasn't the fastest or the fittest so the long legged lads in the game had easily caught her up.
As an innane fear crept up on her, she always hated being chased, she felt like every pair of eyes was following her, especially her elders, and she could distinctly hear pounding feet gaining ground on her, it was in her head though, in reality she'd outpaced the dazed Jenny and there was no-way she'd catch her easily. But fearful Pippa didn't know that and kept up her stumbling uneven jog, she ran much like a child; nothing like an olympic sprinter diving for their gold. Nowhere near.
But commitment was definitely there and now she was nearing the courtyard, and open space to make good her escape; where she could find a decent hiding spot, maybe even have a nap. Hurtling into the courtyard she very nearly collided with a girl about to enter the castle, narrowly able to jump aside she skidded to a halt, breathing heavily, before she could even try and apologise. Holding up a hand silently asking her to wait, she panted out, "sorry dude...was...playin'...tig." she grinned unashamedly as she got her breath back. "You can tell people putrid Pippa nearly bowled you over if you like." Smirking Pippa fell to the cold, hard floor, patting the stone flagon beside her. Seeing the gaggle of boisterous boys brandishing their exploding snap cards, she laughed, saying, "so you're a part of the amazing exploding snap club then? The one that anyone who's nobody wants to be in." Though it did look kind of fun actually...
