Leyla pressed her hand against her mouth to cover her yawn. Her eyes begged to close, but she couldn’t just fall asleep in the middle of the day. Most likely, she wouldn’t wake up until the next morning, and that would be bad. She rubbed her eyes, trying to wake herself up more. If only she had gotten more sleep last night, then she’d be able to walk without stumbling.
That proved to be impossible, considering one of her roommates had suddenly started to become a violet sleeper. She would throw pillows in random directions, usually hitting Leyla. Sometimes the girl would even scream, which caused Leyla to jerk awake. Sighing, she tugged on a piece of her hair, wincing at the pain that traveled up her scalp. Come on, wake up! She was basically dragging her feet across the ground, probably collecting loads of static electricity. Maybe she could find someone and shock herself awake.
As a last resort, Leyla’s hand curled around the knob to the door that led outside. She slowly pushed the door open, and was greeted by the warm air smacking her in the face. The sudden change in temperature momentarily shocked her awake, before her body slumped back into its previous position. She dragged her feet across the stone and slumped into one of the benches, wishing she could just run upstairs and sleep. Leyla stretched her legs out in front of her and leaned her had back. Slowly, her eyes fluttered close…
Fate had that funny way of coming back and ruining a perfectly good moment. Example A, right now. Someone’s foot caught her leg, jerking Leyla awake and causing her to spring forward. In her rush, she lost her balance and fell forward out of the bench. Her hands shot out to catch herself, and she soon found herself hovering over the girl she had tripped’s body. Leyla scrambled up, and her face turned red in embarrassment. She quickly grabbed the girl’s arm in an attempt to help her up.
“Oh my merlin I’m so sorry! I’m so oblivious, I didn’t really noticed anyone coming. I am such an idiot. Oh dear…” She kept babbling as she tried to help the girl up, hoping she wouldn’t freak out on her. If it was someone she was familiar with, she probably wouldn’t have freaked out as much. Well, maybe she would’ve, but that was just because to tended to overreact. It was a genetic thing; her mother did the same thing.

Haleigh wasn't always an oblivious person, she was actually quite attentive despite her quiet demeanor and spacey looks. But that didn't stop her from tripping on any sort of bump that managed to be in the ground before her. Clumsiness must be genetic, because she certainly was like her parents in that.
The day started out relatively normal for the girl. Waking up and pulling on whatever she found first, which happened to be a navy-blue cami with a dull, gray short-sleeved hoodie over it and the first silver necklace she saw which happened to have an owl charm. A gift from one of her uncles, something about owls being wise and all that crap. Whatever. The look was completed with a pair of dark, generic jeans which was generally the only thing you'd see on the girl's legs. She was far too shy to show any skin down there, even if it meant baking in the summer sun.
Scrunching her curls while looking through her messenger bag to make sure that all the essentials were there, she slung the nearly third pound bag over her shoulders and immediately felt the strap digging into her shoulder. You'd expect the few books in there to weigh it down, but it also had whatever else she felt that she might need some day including an emergency kit.
Then she apparently made the wrong decision to head out for some fresh air, as she was only out in the breeze and heat for a few seconds before an unknown assailant had her flailing her arms frantically to try and stay on her feet. To no avail. Falling nearly on her face and only able to put her arm up just in time to prevent her face from smacking on the cobblestones, she soon heard the scratch of plastic on the stones that told her some of her bag's contents decided to fly all over the place. "Oh dear, oh dear." She said, pushing her self up onto her knees and taking a peak around.
Oh, a person? Based on them freaking out, she must've tripped on them or some sort of item related to them. A blush instantly covered a good portion of her cheeks in bright red. "I-i'm okay..." She stuttered quickly, pulling her bag into her lap and grabbing all the things she saw before throwing them haphazardly in there. Hairspray, quills, novels, band-aids, and a few peppermint toads that she'd bought the other day. You know, the usual. Hopefully Haleigh still had time to make a break for it before other people noticed.
Then, remembering her manners suddenly, she glanced up at the girl from her spot on the floor. "Are you okay? I think I cushioned your fall..."
