It arguably could have been an odd sight to see a student sitting on the steps that led to the entrance way. Normally students and Professors alike ran up and down these steps in a hurry as they panicked about essays they had not written or duties they were late for. Occasionally you would get the odd student sitting on the steps, head in hands as they bawled their eyes out, other times you might get shouting matches as friendships fall apart however today you just had Girty Hubbles.
She sat with her legs crossed, a small smile on her face as she read the newspaper. You would only get the occasional movement when she turned the pages over or pushed her glasses back up her nose other then that this Hufflepuff was moving for no one. Even when a Slytherin gave her a good kick in the back she merely peered over the top of the paper and glared at him, not only was she at least five years older then him her brother was the bloody headmaster! At her word she could get that Slytherin expelled.
Of course Girty was not sitting reading on the stairs for her own good, she could do this much easier in the Hufflepuff common room by a raging fire and not as many annoying students from other houses, but today Miss Hubbles was waiting for her goofball of a boyfriend Alex. They had both agreed to have the day off and simply have a stress free day, spent some quality time together and try to have a laugh but already Alex was running late and Girty was not impressed.

They had agreed to take this day off together, but unfortunatly for him he had gotten roped into looking over some first year work to see if they were on the right track, however, when Alex said they were doing fine, they proceeded to ask him a bunch of questions, how could they improve, were they forgetting anything, would they pass? Alex kept trying to get away, but he couldnt, the first year began to follow him like a lost puppy dog, and there was no way Alex was bringing a first year along on his relaxing day with his girlfriend, he would rather shoot himself in the foot, if Girty didnt do it first.
I've still got a little bit of time. He thought to himself and took the first years arm, leading the young girl to the library. This girl obviously hadnt been to the library before and Alex didnt even know if she knew where it was. "Where are we going Mr Doyle?" The girl asked him, causing him to flinch back slightly, "Alex," He answered, not liking being called Mr very much. It made him feel extreamly old. "My name is Alex and I'm taking you to the library." It was quite ironic really, this girl asking him for Muggle Studies help when she was a muggle born and Alex was only a half blood. She should know more than most people about Muggles.
He pushed open the door and gave a rather hearty smile to Offley. "Morning Miss Marsh!" Alex's voice rang through the library and the woman gave him a stern look as if to say he should know better than to shout in the library, he just chuckled and guided the girl over to the bookshelf. "Right, here's all the Muggle Studies books that may help you so have a look through those." He told the girl, "Sometimes you know, it is better to try and do your work yourself, and if you get it wrong constructive critisism from the Professor often helps you get better, good luck."
Without another word he bolted to the door, now aware he was late. Sometimes Alex thought he had a deathwish, you do not keep a werewolf waiting if you knew what was good for you, and he had seen her in her werewolf form and knew what damage she could do. The furry princess, he thought to himself with a grin as he sped down the corridors, knocking something out of a guys arms, "Oops! Sorry!" He chimed, running backwards for a moment and grinning, turning around just in time to see the stair case where Girty was sat, but not in time to stop himself stumbling sideways down them. "Ommph ahh ooo eeee ow!" Came his voice as he hit every step and finally landed on the floor looking upto Girty through slightly dazed eyes, "Ah, my Princess, your knight hath arrive to save ye from the wikid confines of said castle!" He waved his arms around a bit as he said this, hoping the falling and the slight stupidity might make her a little less angry at him. He gave her puppy dog eyes, "Am I forgiven for being oh so late my Princess?"

As per normal there was an article about her brother in the newspaper, this time however it was only on page fifteen but still it was another few column inches to help inflate his ego. This time they were referring to his increasing presence in the Ministry of Magic, in fact the article seemed rather stalkerish as they stated how many times he arrived and exactly what he did, but if that was your thing then fair enough. With a small sigh Girty turned over the page yet again and was studying an advertisement for multi-purpose vanishing cream when she heard yelp behind her. Before long her oh so handsome prince appeared in front of her trying to be as charming as ever.
“hmmm.” She pondered as he asked if he was forgiven a small playful smile on her face, Alex was one of those very few people that could get away with murder because Girty loved him so dearly. So instead she rather quickly brushed over this in fear of saying something she might regret and pointed to the advertisement in the newspaper. “They say can remove any scare, do reckon it will work for my shoulder?”
Girty was one of Dr Sigsworth Vanishing Cream most avid users, on some occasions she could get through a bottle of the stuff a month but there were a few scares that even gallons of the potion could not get rid of. With another slightly melodramatic sigh she folded up the news paper looked down at Alex with a small lopsided smile.
“So what is your reason for being late this time goofball? No wait…let me guess.” She raised her hand to her chin and started to stroke an invisible beard. “There was a little lost first year that you just had to help because their eyes were glistening with tears and with you being such the noble soul you are you were compelled to aid them.”
