Something was wrong, this Polaris could tell. Not only could she tell from her instincts as an animagus, but she could feel some sort of disturbance deep in her bones. That good old Viking intuition. Besides, she was pretty top in her divination class, but, that was besides the point.
The sun had just finished setting behind the faint tree line in the distance. That marked the time around 8-9pm.
Knowing that there were no classes going on at this time of night, Polaris took this time as an opportunity to go and gaze at the stars from the observatory, near the Ravenclaw common room. She had always loved watching the stars, especially when she was a child. It was unfortunate that she only got to see them every so often here at Hogwarts.
"Just one more staircase to go!" Polaris said with a wide smile, full of excitement. Just as she stepped onto the arriving staircase, something went wrong. Very wrong. It seemed the presence of something other than a castle decoration or dust deeply upset the staircase and caused it to buck as much as it possibly could.
With wide eyes, the Ravenclaw was taken by surprise and hastily clung to the railing, whimpering. This was almost as bad as when Noah took her flying. Before too long, Polaris shut her eyes and simply held on, waiting for the emotional staircase to calm down.
After feeling the furniture settle down and regain it's composure, the girl opened her eyes only to be met by another surprise. She was now stuck high above the corridor that she had just walked down to, with no way of getting down. Banging her fist on the ancient stairs, the wolf was clearly agitated. "Bloody stairs! I should have never taken you! You moody thing!" She shouted in retort, only causing the staircase to creak slightly, as if a grunt in response.
Whimpering once more, Polaris thought she heard someone walking towards her. "Erm, hello? Someone down there? Help?" She called out while sticking her head through the railings, peering down to the on-comer.

The stairs were acting up. Avaleigh sighed as she hoped on, only to get taken in the complete opposite direction she needed to go. She groaned. The was pointless and aggravating. She hissed at the stairs as it continued on. The movement was spontaneous, as it always was, but it seemed to be sporadic, like the stairs were afraid to stay in one place to long. Ava sighed and groaned as she tried to figure out an alternative route to the common room. Lucky enough, the Slytherin common room was somewhat easy to navigate. Being in the dungeons, you just had to head down. That would be easy if any staircases around Ava were headed down.
"Stupid...stairs...I'll show you....where..." Ava muttered under her breath, her temper rising, as well as he profanity. She climbed up another flight and another, and finally was able to link over to a staircase heading down. Her legs were getting tired. Her utterances became strewn together with cusses.
A large sound and another staircase moved, rather fast. She heard a person shouting. Avaleigh looked over her head. She could see a blonde head stick out over the railing of the floor above her. Ava laughed.
"Stuck?" The Slytherin asked. She put her hands on her hips. Her black Slytherin robes billowed out slightly. She grinned. "Pity." She said, and went to climb down her staircase. "What the..." Ava yelled as she realized her staircase obviously hadn't approved of her dirty mouth and also moved away, leaving her stranded. She looked up and glared at the girl.
"What do you do!?" She said, her face getting red with anger. Her tempter was flaring.

Just as she thought help had arrived in the form of a moody Slytherin, Polaris had never been so wrong in her life. Well, she had, but now wasn't the time to bring it up.
"It's a pity now you're stuck with me!" The ravenclaw couldn't help but laugh softly at their situation, but swearing and profanities never got anyone anywhere. Polaris continued to peer down at the Slytherin with a slight curiosity, her eyes then catching a furious glare thrown in her direction. It didn't bother her much and resulted in her laughing once more, this time, not out of entertainment.
"What did I do? If I knew what I did, I wouldn't be up here in the first place!" She responded, raising her voice slightly. By Thor, pressure really gets to some people. "Since we're going to be stuck here for a while.."
Her voice faded when she thought she heard someone else walking down the hallway, only to realize it was a daft house elf. Bah! "My name is Polaris!" The animagus finished off with a faint smile.

Ava wasn't in the mood for a good attitude. She glared at the girl as she laughed about the situation. Ava would give anything to get back to the common room and get out of this stupid uniform and into some real clothes. "Shut up." Ava yelled up to the girl. She was right however, they were both stuck. Lets look on the bright side, Ava wasn't stuck on the same floor as the girl. Ava glared up at the girl, she noticed the blue of a Ravenclaw and sighed. At least it wasn't a Hufflepuff. Ava groaned. The girl got defensive. A good sign, though. She was a fighter. Good.
"Well, obviously, there is something wrong, and until I figure out what, I'm blaming it on you." Ava said, finalizing the conversation. She looked around her own floor. It was a dead end. No doors, nothing but a landing. She sighed. Ava decided she would need to enlist the girls help, no matter how much she didn't want to.
"Sure, whatever." Ava said to the girl as she introduced herself, rudely, for a floor above. "Listen." Ava said authoritatively, "Do you have a door of something on your landing, cause I got nothing." Ava said, placing her hands on her hips, and looking up at the girl. If she didn't get off this floor soon, her neck was going to be sore from looking up.

"Blame it on me all you want. I don't mind so much. Atleast I can move a staircase!" Polaris yelled with a grin. Of course the girl didn't mind the stuck up wench telling her to 'shut up' or any other form of psuedo-authority. Probably afraid to break a nail. Then again, Slytherins are always daft when it comes to spell work and intelligence.
With a tap of her wand, the ancient stair case groaned and began to shift, this time towards Ava's. Unfortunately for the Slytherin, it didn't quite reach her staircase and still left her stranded, while Polaris' own only held a portrait at the end. "Door? No. Portrait? Yes." She said more to herself for confirmation.
Grinning widely, the girl walked towards the portrait and introduced herself to it. It was a familiar painting, one of the toad with a crown! Good times, good times.. After a few moments of conversing with the toad and catching up on certain things, Polaris turned to Ava, the same wolfish grin on her lips. "Well. It seems that this toad knows of a way to get out. So, I'm sure I will see you around, Miss!" She yelled before giving a slight wave.
"Oh, and taking a charms class would have helped you here.. I can think of a few ways to get down. But! I'm not going to say anything until you either introduce yourself or act semi-polite and civil." Polaris remarked with a quirked eyebrow. "Lest you still wish to find yourself in the same position for a few hours while I go, or not go, get someone to help."
If that Slytherin thought she could be the head figure of the two, she was wrong. Wolves were and always will be the leaders in any situation. Though, a bit of kindness went a long way.

"You can't move the staircases!" Ava said, impatient with the girl, Polaris, whatever. Ava groaned as she heard a spell being cast and the staircases moan as it moved closer to Polaris. Ava rolled her eyes. "If you could get outthe whole time why did you plead for my help." She said, really irritated that she was still stuck.
"Well, does the portrait go anywhere..."Ava said, sarcastically, hoping that she could get up to that balcony and then through whatever was up there. Ava tapped her toes impatiently. She pushed her bangs out of her eyes, and sighed.
"Wait." She said, annoyed with herself that the word even was uttered out of her mouth. "Wait." Ava said again. "Get me out of here...." She said, as she glared up at the Ravenclaw. She groaned and stomped her foot. "Please."
Ugh. "Fine!!" Ava yelled up at the girl. "My name is Avaleigh Thorne. It is very nice to meet you." Ava said, putting on the fakest smiled and highering her voice to the most annoying pitch and even adding a little curtsy at the end of her tirade.
The smile vanished from her face, and she cross her arms over her chest. "Now get me out of her...now."
