After a long day of studying, Arabella had found herself in Hogsmeade. She wasn't quite sure where she was, but at least it wasn't locked in her dorm room staring at books. It was nice to get a breath of fresh air, especially when it was snowing. Snow was something she didn't see back home. San Francisco only had two seasons, Summer and hotter than heck.
Bundled up in her new winter jacket, mittens and gloves, Arabella made her way down the frosty streets. Caught up in the excitment of the winter wonderland, Ari had managed to turn down a dark and quite abandoned allyway. Unable to remember how she even got there, Arabella decided to keep going, "There's always a light at the end of every tunnel," she assured herself.
Five minutes later, all Ari had managed to do was walk in a never ending maze of familiar bricks and trash cans. "This is hopeless," she proclaimed. Arabella had managed to find a wooden crate and decided to take a break. Brushing the snow off the damp wood, Ari took a seat and tried to come up with a plan of how to get her out of this mess.

"Merlin. This cold..." Shay muttered under his breath. A couple of his fellow dorm mates, and himself, were off enjoying their chance to be out in Hogsmeade. He was used to the cold, it was common in London. But he hated being out in it. Shay preferred the sun, the warmth.
A chill ran down his spine as the crisp winds whipped him. "Damn!" He shouted. His dorm mates snickered. "Can't handle the cold, Bourke?" They teased. Shay whipped out his wand, muttering a spell. Soon, a blast of what seemed to be red heat came shooting out. Within seconds, they were all trying to rip off their winter coats. "Can't handle the heat?" He mocked, walking away from his, now sweating, dorm mates.
Shafer took his travels to an ally. As he stepped behind the brick walls, the winds immediately let up, and he was free of the dreaded wind. "Finally..." He mumbled and began walking, far away from the entrances as possible. After a few minutes, Shay noticed someone sitting on what seemed like a crate. It's to be expected. Many people just want to get away from their pratty schoolmates.. He thought.
At first, he wasn't sure if he was to approach the other, or not. But he commenced doing so anyway. Walking closer, he noticed it was a girl. "Oh, sorry. Didn't know this ally was taken." He joked. He wasn't sure if he should leave her alone or not. It would all depend on her mood, he concluded.

Schuyler called, smiling gently as she addressed the two. “Would one of you happen to know where … ” She paused and looked around her once more and chuckled softly. “Well, I assume any way out of this maze would be fine …” She smiled a bright smile, hoping that neither of the two were unfriendly in any way. Suddenly, she found herself wondering if that bookshop she was searching for happened to sell a map of the place; it sure seemed like she needed it.[/ul]

Arabella smiled at the boy and gave a slightly embarassed laugh, "Yeah, I love to hang out in alleyways all day, this particular one is my favorite," she joked. Ari looked down the alleyway to see another ravenclaw girl who approached them. "Hi," she said with a smile, "I'm sorry but I don't think I'd be of much use to you," she said to the girl, "I'm Arabella, and like you, I'm just a little lost," she said with an akward smile.
She looked down at her hands then back up at the two, "In fact, I don't even remember how I got here. The snow covered up my footprints," she said with a laugh.

Shay chuckled. "Interesting. Seems like the place to be." He snickered, looking at the brick walls and garbage cans. Shafer was rather comfortable talking to girls, it came to him naturally. So it came to no surprise to him when he was talking to her as if he'd known her. Which he didn't, of course. She seemed to be in a different house then him, and he mostly didn't hold a grudge to girls who were in different houses. Shay was simply a ladies man, that was it.
Hearing footsteps, he turned around to see another girl. Shay shrugged. He wasn't going to be any help. He basically just was wandering about, and found the girl who sat on the crate. "Me neither.. I wasn't even paying attention when I walked down here..." He replied, after the girl on the crate -Arabella- had said she wasn't going to be help.
"I'm Shafer." He blurted out, at random. It was a subconscious thing really. Saying his name after someone else did, was as natural as talking to girls to him. Shay chuckled lightly at thinking this. He backed up, leaning against the wall. "You guys come down here to escape the cold without being in bloody crowded shops?" He asked, wondering now.

She nodded agreeably, pulling her wand out of her coat pocket with her free hand and disapparating the cup of Butterbeer she held. Her hand was tired of holding the drink, no matter how much salvation it brought from the cold. She shifted her weight to her right leg, sticking her hands—and wand—back into her pockets as she did so. “Schuyler,” she introduced herself with another soft smile. “Actually, I was looking for a shortcut to the other end of town …” she trailed off, not knowing what more to say. Schuyler’s grey eyes wandered down to her feet, watching as the snowflakes calmly added themselves to the white blanket on the ground. Subconsciously, she reached up and brushed at her nose—which she couldn’t feel anymore by the way—to brush at where one of the flakes landed. She didn’t know why, exactly, but she didn’t seem to like when her nose got wet …[/ul]

Arabella laughed at Schulyer's comment about maps, "Yeah, those would definitly help," she said with a smile, "It's nice to meet you both," she said honestly, "It's always nice to have company when you're in an abandoned alleyway," Ari said with a slight laugh.
Ari looked at Shay, "Well my actual plan was to just walk around without getting lost, but like always, my plan has to fail," she said, running a hand through her hair. "To be honest, I was actually trying to find a warm, crowded place, but ended up here. But, I must say, this isn't that bad either."

A small chuckle was heard from Shay. "Yeah. That would help." He smirked. One could get lost, much like Schulyer and Arabella, in such a big place. Shay wasn't necessarily lost. Nor was he familiar with the area. He just, sort of followed the paths of the alleyway, assuming he would make it out alive.
Now that the wind wasn't attacking him from all sides, Shay began warming up. He silently wondered where his fellow Slytherins had wandered off to. "Oh. Well.. Which way did you come from?" There were several ways one could come from to end up in this spot, he just realized, so it seemed quite hard to decipher which way one had entered. Come to think of it, Shay couldn't even tell which way he'd come from. Oh well. All of them lead a way. He thought carelessly.

Andie wandered down the street, glad to finally have a break from work. "Damn, it's cold!" she muttered to herself, snuggling her chin futher down into her black pea coat. Looking up, Andie saw that she had wandered into an alley, and had absolutely no idea where she was. Seeing a group of students standing near a crate, she walked over to them. "Don't tell me your're all lost too!" she said laughingly, emerald eyes twinkling merrily, and fiery red curls being whipped around her face by the wind.
