He was supposed to always be there for me.

I met Joshua Rivas in what seems like forever ago. He was everything I needed; a true Slytherin. He was strong, beautiful, funny.. With him by my side, I didn't need anything else. We met in Honeydukes, me rushing out because the sickly sweet smell, well, sickened me. I dont quite remember what happened.. I might have bumped into him, I'm not sure, but we hit it off. A few times we hung out in the common room, and I fell asleep while hovering. He was there when I plumetted to the ground, and helped me on to the couch while I nursed my bruised body.

One day, he showed me a secret. A powerful, beautiful, secret. So hushed that I wont even write it here. I will never speak or write of it again. And when we started to come back from that place, we were ambushed by the vampire Cessily Monroe. She slashed both of us up, me pretty badly, though I'd never admit that. I still have scars. But Joshua.. She nearly sucked him dry. She had him under her thrall or something, and he.. He kissed her. Right in front of me. The sight of it knocked the breath out of me. Finally, when she was about to kill us both, Joshua used his patronus and frightened her off with its light. Dragging each other back to the hospital wing, I remember the nurse contemplating strapping me down because I wouldn't stay for medical aid. Even though I was bleeding so badly a puddle of blood had formed around my feet. It was Joshua who made me stay.

I never saw him again after that fateful night. He vanished completely, without a word. I dont know what I felt for him, but it was strong enough to tear me up inside when he was gone. And then my best friend Veata Bane left me too. I have no idea where they went, but.. What they did, leaving me like that.. I'll never admit it, but it made me weak for a while. After months of their absence, I am no longer the snivelling coward they left behind. I'm stronger now than I ever was, and I wont make that mistake again.[/font][/color]
