Hi, Im Isabel Maria Valenti,
and this is my Journal.
Ive spent my whole life being the perfect student, never doing anything uncharictaristic and always having my nose in a book. Its always suited my lifestyle, it was always what my mother wanted. Though I never stopped to ask what I wanted, never stopped to think about myself or for myself.
Just recently I've found that theres more to life than Arithmancy and Potions. There's a whole world out there, things you cant touch with knowledge, but things you have to figure out for yourself. The world isnt made up of black ink, it isnt written in a thousand texts, no amount of books or knowledge could ever capture the world, there are so many things about it we dont know.
Sometimes I wonder if there's more to life then ending up stuck in a dead end job at the ministry or staying on in school as an apprentice. Im not talking about owning your own shop or anything like that, Im talking about something more. There's so much potential, so many different roads and different paths you can take, but the question is which one do you follow?
Following your heart to do something so unlike you is really hard, not to mention scary. How do you know that you will come out of it alright? Sometimes I envy those who know what they're doing with their lives but how is it different from everyone else? I dont want to be just another witch. I want to be someone who makes a difference, someone who works to make a difference.
Anyway, I think thats enough for one night.
