When her mother gave her the heads up about the for sale sign in front of Madam Puddifoots Cat wasted no time. For the last year after giving up her lucrative modeling career the woman wanted to put down roots be in one spot for more then a few days at a time. Owning a shop would give her the perfect opportunity without hesitation she got the number of the person handling the sale and within days the deal was done. She had moved into the flat above the shop and set to work giving the place a fresh coat of paint and a bit of a modern twist. There were bar stools at the counter for those who liked that sort of thing. One side there were benches for groups as opposed to the small intimate tables that screamed COUPLE. No those were now off to the right hand side. Outside she placed a tan awning above the sign and some small tables for those who enjoyed their food and drink while watching the passersby. The whole place seemed fresh and new more like her and less like the old owner.
She wasn't set to open for a couple of more days since she was still expanding her menu and had only less then half of the teas and coffees she wanted to serve but she was so excited she couldn't help it. Getting up early that morning she set to work baking up a storm making blueberry, raspberry, and strawberry scones from scratch. To go with those blueberry, raspberry, and coffeecake muffins, cheese danishes, chocolate, and vanilla cakes and lastly some good old east coast cheesecake. The baking took hours but she loved it. This happened to be one of things she picked up from her mother who was wiz in the kitchen. After baking she started on some coffee brewing two large pots of regular and decaf until her supply of exotic blends arrived. For tea she only had chamomile and Earl Grey but that would change soon as well.
She just couldn't wait anymore she wanted to open to meet the people reacquaint herself with Hogsmeade. This was so new for her but she faced tougher stuff then this and lived through it. All she had to do was be herself and things would fall right into place.
As she carried out the last tray of baked goods she heard the bell above the door ring. It was her first customer. She had butterflies as she headed off out of the kitchen and into the store her body bent slightly obscuring her vision of the customer and their view of her, the tray was heavy and she hadn't thought to use a wand so she was trying to stuff them in before she dropped everything. Slipping it into the counter next to her cakes she finally stood up giving a huge smile "Welcome to the new Madam Puddifoots I'm Catriona the new owner how can I help you today."
