Name: Finnigan Barret Miles
Nicknames: Finn (He hates going by his full first name.)
Age: 16
Year: 6
House: Gryffindor
Blood: Half-Blood
Wand: 10.5 inches, Ashwinder Ash, Yew, Rigid, Best for DADA
Personality:
Impulsive- Finn never really has a reason for what he is doing. He just does what he does because he does it. Nothing more, nothing less. The idea of having a plan is unknown for him, and he lives life one moment at a time as opposed to even going as far as living a day at a time.
Flirt- Every chance he gets, Finn is working his boyish ways. He's not overly confident, but enough so that he's had his ego bruised a time or two. Bruises heal though, as does Finn. He doesn't really let things bother him for very long.
Ignorant- Though genuine for the most part, Finn is quite ignorant of the needs of others. He'll often act in his own selfish ways and not even realize the affects that it has on others.
Sincere- Probably one of the most sincere guys his age, it's odd how he can balance such a trait with his flirtatious ways. Some say it's all a show, but deep down Finn really does care about his influence on others. Even more, he's harshly honest, unafraid of the consequences of the truth.
Carefree- He's a free spirit, not taking anything too seriously. He wants to have fun and enjoy those around him. If he calls you friend, you can count on him to be there in a bind, or at least he'll try to do what he can.
Brave- What's a Gryffindor without their bravery? It'd almost be like a Ravenclaw without a book. Still, Finn does have a certain bravery about him. There is a bit of fear tucked away inside, but Finn hides it well, having grown up doing so.
History:
Born an illegitimate child to muggle Darla Miles, Finn's father Dylan Kane never even stuck around for the birth of his son. Dylan was a wizard and childhood friend of Darla. They grew up together, and in their early teens were like most other teenagers experimenting with the idea of 'romance' and relationships. Clearly, the bond between Darla and Dylan was not quite love, and so when 17 year old Darla became pregnant, Dylan ran away from the 'problem' and was never seen again.
When Darla's parents found out, they were outraged, furious at Darla for getting pregnant to such a 'freak'. Darla's parents didn't know the truth about Dylan being a wizard though, but always thought of him as being different. Darla, however, knew that Dylan was a wizard, and since the day Finn was born, she wondered if he too would possess magical abilities.
Darla and Finn grew up with Darla's parents, but at the age of 23, Darla opened her own coffee shop in downtown Manchester. It did quite well, and Dylan enjoyed spending his childhood days at the shop. Sure enough, when he was 11, Dylan got a letter from Hogwarts. He had inherited his father's abilities.
Darla was skeptical at first, somewhat fearful that Finn would turn out like his father. Still, she hid her worries from Finnigan, happy to send him since he seemed so excited to learn about magic. In reality, Finn was eager to learn more about his father, despite always holding a secret hatred toward him. Like any curious young boy, Finn wasn't sure what to feel about this new experience, so he went into it with an open mind.
The years passed rather quickly for Finn, and he made many friends. He encountered an enemy or two along the way, but nothing serious. Also, he became quite interested in Quidditch, learning that his father was in fact a Beater on the Slytherin team during his year's at Hogwarts.
Now, Finn is simply living another year at Hogwarts. It's his sixth year, which means he should start to consider what he might pursue in his future, but Finn is more interested in other things. There's too much fun to be hand, and quite frankly, Finn won't sit still till the fun runs out.
