Nelson has life experience; the man that stands tall today is most defiantly not the same teenager that walked around the Hogwarts castle thirty years ago. Then Nelson was naive to the aspects of real life outside the stone walls of the castle, back then he looked at Hogwarts like a Prison now he looks back and sees it as a safe haven of fun and learning.

Compulsive behaviour start to creep into the man’s personality over the yeas, from being a scruffy student who would scramble around the forest and swim in the dark and dirty waters of the lake Nelson has now become a clean freak. Not a speck of dirt is allowed on his suits; he cleans his cutlery before using it with a white handkerchief and will refuse to sit down on the floor!

Years of working as an Auror has made Nelson a stern and law abiding man. Rules are not made to be broken nor are they guidelines…they are there because it is from the persons safety and own benefit. Bad behaviour will not be tolerated! On the other hand however those who work and do not break the rules shall easily fall into his favour, which is always the better side to be on!

For those who get to know Nelson better they will find out he is not the cold and sadistic man that can be portrayed. At heart he is still a Gryffindor and thrives on having fun and a good time and when Nelson is in one of these situations he will show that he does know how to smile and laugh.

-- Appearance --
Nelson is 6’0”, Hazel eyes and brown hair. From his years as an Auror there is some muscle toning…well there was before he ended up spending his days sitting in front of a desk instead of out in the field. Old war wounds from his years out in the field however are still present and although on many occasions Vanishing Cream has been offered to him to take them away Nelson has always been reluctant, there nothing like telling the tale of how he got one or the other.

When working Nelson will be found in a tailor made suit and it is always in perfect condition, not even a speck of dust is allowed to contaminate the fine material. Many a charm has been placed upon his clothing to prevent such things from happening!
On days, such as the weekend, Nelson is not afraid to the whole casual look, Jeans and T-shirt however even then he is reluctant to wear anything that may look worn…jeans with rips in them are most defiantly a no go area!

Hawthorn, 12”, Porlock hair

Nelsons wand is long in compression to many, the Hawthorn makes it light weight and over the years it just feels like an extension to his own arm. When he first brought it from Ollivander’s all those years ago it was a rather plain looking thing…looking more like it had just fallen from the tree then being crafted. But now over the years of weathering and scratches the wand has developed patterns and given it a bit of character!

Coming from a Pure Wizarding bloodline Nelson had a good background with the Wizarding World. Both his parents worked for the Ministry and rather minuscule jobs, but all that mattered was it paid the bills. Nelson had a good home life, his parents loved each other dearly, and he got on with his older sisters, Victoria and Elizabeth.
Even his time at Hogwarts was nothing to truly write home about, Nelson was not in the Quidditch teams, nor was he particularly bright in his early years at school. It was only when in a Defence Against the Dark Arts lesson the teacher at the time invited his friend along to talk to the class…and he was an Auror.

It was during that lesson that Nelson worked out what he wanted to be when he ‘grew-up’ he was going to be a world famous Auror! This turned his life around, he cracked down on his work and focused on the topics he knew would help him…he turned out to be a natural at Charms and rather handy when thrown into a fight situation under pressure in DADA. With good grades behind him and a strong work ethic Nelson left Hogwarts and entered the real world to become an Auror in training,

It was then he met his future wife Jillian, however at the time they were bitter rivals fighting for the attention and top spot in the training programme. They were seen as the brightest upcoming Aurors of their time and over the years their rivalry grew and grew until a point when they found themselves with their wands drawn at each other. They were one week away from being able to become full trained Aurors, three years they had waited for this moment and both Nelson and Jillian were about to throw it all away by acting on a whim. The fire was burning in Jillian’s eyes and although talent Nelson knew she would beat him any day and so deciding to take the higher ground the man slowly lowered his wand and bowed down gracefully.

The two did not see each other for another two years as they worked in different departments on different missions…until the fateful day when they were partnered together. Hostility is not a strong enough word to describe the atmosphere that surrounded the two and it took them to being stuck in the Cayman Islands and to down a few bottles of Fire Whisky to put their differences aside and admit that they were hellish attracted to one another.

Many a year mission (and years alter) the two tied the knot and entered a new stage of their life together. Nelson dreamed that this was it, the love like his parents that would last till the end of time and so it seemed it was. They had a few more years of being that ‘newly’ married couple with no ties other then work before they ventured into having children. Jillian had to give up her job and she did not mind this as having a family was just another adventure!

The problem was that as they kids grew up the novelty worse off and slowly Nelson and Jillian started to see the old problems they had with one another once again. Jillian hated Nelson for working and Nelson hated Jillian for moaning and after almost six months of constant arguing Jillian took the kids and left for Australia.

The messy divorce took its toll on Nelson and his performance out in the field dropt to such a point he was sidelined and set on desk duty to give him time to recover. Five years later Nelson was still working at the desk in hope he would be sent back out on the field…and with new Aurors coming through all the time the chances were slim. It was time for a new direction!

It was then Nelson saw the advertisement in the Newspaper for a new Charms Professor at Hogwarts seeing as the last one got promoted to Headmaster and the lessons were now being temporally covered by the Headmasters 19 year old sister. It was then with great hope and baited breath that he sent off his application in hope that he would get the role!
