Post by Prof. Adam Williams on Jul 30, 2008 19:55:30 GMT
Adam was certainly new to this school, but due to the kindness of some students, he found his way into the classroom. He left the door open and inviting to any of the students that would like to have come by and sign up for the class at his desk, since he would be writing it down. He always wrote things downf or himself, as he saw that that was the best way for him to memorize everyone's names or other things.
With a smile plastered on his lips, the ex-gryffindor leaned back in his chair and rested his feet up on the corner of his desk, getting comfortable. A few clomps of dirt fell to his desk as his boots hit the surface, but not enough to make such a mess.
As the students entered, he greeted them with a friendly "'Ello! If yer lookin' ta sign up for the Dragonology class, please tell me yer name, year and house!". The students were either very weary of his cheer or pleased. Either way, it didn't matter to him.
When the students left, he gave a small wave and replied with, "Thanks fer signin' up, I look ferward ta seein' ya in class!".
Such an exciting topic to teach, he found, and had hopes of the students finding it just the same.

Post by Aidan and Derryl Parkhurst on Jul 31, 2008 12:39:30 GMT
The word had been spread that there was a new Dragonology professor and Aidan convinced Derryl to go with him and sign up. It had always been a subject that fascinated Aidan, and for the near-hlaf with that was saying something.
Aidan was the sort of student who did nothing in class but make paper aeroplanes and blow paper bullets at the backs of peoples heads. But a subject that was all about Dragons was one thing Aidan could not pass up. Derryl on the other hand had always found Dragons to be mildly interesting and entirely too dangerous for him. But, being the thoughtful brother he was, Derryl went with Aidan to the new Professor's class room in search of the sign up sheet.
What they found was an inanely grinning man sitting with his feet on top of the desk, watching the door. This disturbed Aidan slightly as he never trusted a smile that size so Derryl had to shove his brother towards the man - who they suspected was the new professor - and the desk where a piece of parchment was.
'Hello Professor,' Derryl said with a smile. 'Hiya Professor,' Aidan said a second later. 'Yes, we are. ...' 'Here to sign up ...' 'Is what I mean to say.' Derryl rolled his eyes and gave a hopeless smile to the professor.
'Aidan Parkhurst,' Derryl said. 'And Derryl Parkhurst,' Aidan said. 'Here to sign up.'
This was one of their favourite things to do: get a teacher confused before they have even set foot in the class. The twins were now grinning as inanely at the professor was. Aidan held out a hand before they left for the professor to shake but unbeknownst to the professor, Aidan had a device down his own sleeve that shot cold baked beans down the Professor's sleeve as soon as their hands stopped touching.
Chuckling wildly, the two twins left in high spirits. This was certainly going to be an interesting class to attend.

"Hey did you hear Dragonology class is back on, they got someone else to teach it. There's a sign up sheet. I suggest you go for it before there's no more space left." With that her friend was gone, off to the Great Hall to snag some toast leaving Alexis standing there looking a bit silly. Not that it mattered because in seconds after the announcement was made Alexis could be seen doing an about face in the corridor she was walking toward the very classroom the girl had just mentioned.
She had tried to take the class with its previous professor and well had to admit that it wasn't what she thought it would be. So she had considered dropping it, an uncharacteristic thing for her so she stuck with it. Suddenly the teacher left Alexis hoped that it would resume preferably with someone else. So this news was taken rather well.
Immediately she found the room but the sheet wasn't on the door no instead it was in the room as was the professor. Alexis walked in smiled at him. Sort of shy but well that was her sometimes. "Um hello professor I'm Alexis Cane here to sign up for class, fourth year Ravenclaw" why she felt the need to give him name rank and serial number. Feeling a bit silly she smiled at him once more. "Can't wait for first class, see you then" and with that she sort of scurried away. Her hair turning a bright shade of red to match her face. There'd be no mistaking how embarassed she was now.

Dragonology?
What a smashing idea!
When choosing her classes, Holly never expected to see such a unique and alluring subject. To learn about dragons for an entire period? Grinning madly to herself, the young girl entered the room by pulling open the door that was already ajar.
"Hello, Professor..." She saw his nameplate and smiled. "Williams." Taking a quick look around the room, she tried to decipher what kind of lessons they'd be having. She also noticed there were no enormous cages meant for dragons hanging around the room.
"I'm Holly Elms, Gryffindor sixth year and quite intent to learn about dragons." She hoped that was all he'd need from her as she was getting quite restless being in a classroom when she didn't have a lesson. Holly was glad when she finally left.

Post by Noah Yves on Aug 4, 2008 6:48:24 GMT
Noah was not a total stranger to dragons. His mother was a big fan of them - magenta ones in particular - so, until he was eleven, she would often take him on trips to Romania.
Though, since then, the Gryffindor hadn't been near a dragon in quite a while. Sorely missing the experience, Noah was one of the first to come through the Professor's door, beaming.
"Noah Yves, Gryffindor sixth year." He raised a brow at the cheerfulness, but returned it with a wolfish grin of his own. "You wouldn't happen to know where I could find any dragon eggs, do you?" He whispered, as if conspiring with any other student than a professor.
Figuring he'd learn in one of the lessons soon enough, and late to meet Echo, Noah grinned on his way to the door, "Nevermind, tell me later!"

Post by Arabelle Thomas on Aug 9, 2008 5:28:30 GMT
Arabella ran from her dorm. She was bouncing off the walls. In her mind she sang: Dragonology sing ups are starting! Over and over again. She danced along the corridors until she reached the Dragonology classroom. To be honest Ara had only seen a dragon once, it was red and had lots of horns. She was scared to death, but very fascinated. Ara was hoping that the Professor would be able to help her get over her fears and love dragons for who they are and how they were made.
Arabella stopped at the class entryway. "You can do this!" Arabelle whispered to herself as she stepped in. She walked up to the Professor and smiled. "Hi is this where we sign up for you class?" she asked. He nodded and she continued,"Okay then: Arabelle Thomas, 5th year Gryffindor... i'll be here!" Grinning from ear to ear Ara turned on her heel and skipped out the door.

Post by Dean Hogarth on Aug 21, 2008 18:30:03 GMT
Growing up in the muggle world Dragons were always a mystical thing that brave knights of old fought in fairy tales so when he came to Hogwarts in his first year it took Dean a lot to get his head around them being real! This is why when the time came for signing up for classes his mind lingered on the thought of joining in with Dragonology. He had put it off every other year but this time around he would not miss it.
Knowing that he would have to get it over and done with as soon as possible before he chickened out the Hufflepuff headed to the classroom, nervously entering the class room. The person who he guessed was the professor was sitting on the desk ginning at him, and that just made Dean feel even more nervous.
“er..I…I am Dean Hogarth, I am here to sign up.” He nervously rubbed the back of his neck. “I am Hufflepuff fifth year.” He added just really wanting to get out of the room as quickly as possible. His cheeks were flushed red and as the Professor said his thanks the Hufflepuff quickly scurried out of the room and back to the common room to relax by doing an Astronomy paper.

Vicious. yes. Dangerous. yes. Tempered. yes.
Avaleigh was definitely signing up. As an added bonus to her seventh year, she decided to spoil herself and actually take a class she would enjoy. Dragonology sounded perfect.
The Slytherin waltzed into the classroom, her head held high. She entered just as a Hufflepuff male was leaving the room. Hes cheeks were red with some form of embarrassment, Ava wished she'd seen it.
She grinned as she walked up to the Professor. She smiled as he addressed her. "Avaleigh Thorne, Slytherin, Seventh year." She placed one had on her hip and waited for him to write everything down. When he finished, she glanced at the Professor and gave him a smile, and turned on her heel and walked out of the room.
