OWLs were obviously the professors main means of torture on their students, and the power they held was actually enough to keep Bradyn Reed in the library for most of the day, for multiple days. And though he goes to the library a lot, it didn't guarantee that he would actually sit down and read whatever books he had picked up, but today was quite another case. Fay nearly fainted when she spotted him multitasking on assignments that weren't due the next day.
'God, I can't stand this anymore!' He thought, a little bit of himself returning from the introspective state studying was putting him in. Packing up his books and tucking them under his arm, Bray quickly decided that he'd like to enjoy the cool Spring air and find himself a place by the lake. Dressed casually, or perhaps the more accurate word would by comfortably, he had to push up the sleeves of his gray sweatshirt as the first bit of the warm, moist air hit his face. His hair was lightly curled and looked as if he just crawled out of bed, as it often did now since he could no longer be bothered to put the effort into straightening it. A light yawn escaped him as he blinked repeatedly to adjust to the natural light, his feet instinctively taking him towards the tree he usually sat in. That tree, as he was mentally referring it to to avoid thinking words like 'ellie' and 'ex-girlfriend'.
Grabbing the lowest branch and swinging himself up on it, leaving the useless things he called 'books' on the ground in the hopes that some animal would steal them away so he had no reason to do more work. Laying down daringly on the tree with his hands behind his head, he relied mostly on his unusual sense of balance even though that facts told him it was physically impossible for humans to always land on their feet. Then again, if he changed mid fall, that could all change. Bray pushed away the troublesome thoughts of logic, closing his eyes in slight agitation. 'Later I'll have to write that potions paper... then find out what Charm Professor Rutherford was hinting at...' The mere thought of work seemed to put him to sleep, or maybe that was just because he was out with Max the other night after being dragged along for some nonsensical mission.

[ugh, are you trying to kill me...]
Ellie sat in her four poster bed, the curtains closed for privacy. If you peeked inside, you would be astounded. Ellie sat in the middle, surrounded by long pieces of parchment and books. Strewn everywhere, you would be very surprised to see Ellie studying as hard as she was. The fifth year was drowning in a sea of charms. However, she was not to give up. She was determined to ace this exam.
OWLs, Ellie realized where important. But to the young girl who had no idea what she wanted to do, it was even harder. She didn't know where t concentrate, so she concentrated on her favorites. Charms, DADA, Potions, and Transfiguration. The rest, she just muddled through, which was probably not amazing, but hey, its Ellie after all.
Ellie had recently collapsed onto all her studying tools. She starred up at the ceiling, the movement to the bubble-head charm running through her mind. She tried to blink it away, but failed to do so. She sighed and sat up, swing her legs over the bed and parting the curtains to emerge from her cage.
The window was open and Ellie could feel a nice breeze. It was calling to her. Ellie grabbed a light sweater and ran down the common room stairs and out into the castle. She walked slowly now, noticing how there was a sever lack of fifth years out and about. She was suddenly happy to be out walking around and not lock into that room anymore.
Ellie didn't know where she was going, but she ended up in the same spot she always ended up. A certain tree loomed in the distance. Ellie had spent many days sitting thinking. The near recent past had caused Ellie to think a lot. It seemed that this tree helped her mull over her thoughts, the most prominent of which was Bray.
As she reached the tree, she slowly slide down the bark and came to rest on a soft root sticking out. She sighed. A gentle wind picked up the sweet smell of spring of the lake. It was lovely out. Ellie took a deep breath, and as she exhaled something knocked her softly on her head. She reached up and found a small stick had fallen into her waves. She looked up, squinting in the sun to see a figure just above her. Blocking the glare with her hand, her eyes widened to see none other than Bray. Ellie wondered if he saw her. Part of her hoped he didn't, but most of her hoped he did.

The worst part of focusing your entire thoughts on something for so long is that it begins to invade your dreams after a while. Almost as soon as he had passed out, it seemed that he was back in school on his way to his Transfiguration exam. Or rather, he would be if he could ever get through the labyrinth of classrooms that seemed to be never ending and not in the right place at all, as per usual with dreams. In the hall he seemed to pass the familiar faces of Fay, Erys, and Tree but none seemed to care of recognize him. Not to mention the fact that if it were actually exam day they'd either be in class or with their nose shoved in books. Or rather, Erys would mock him about her already taking her OWLs ages ago. Evil woman.
Flinging open a door, he finally ran -- in the literal sense -- into the familiar face that he hadn't seen earlier that seemed to be plaguing him lately and there was no amount of studying that could keep it away for more than twelve hour periods.
'Ellie? ..Oh, sorry.' Though in his dreamworld she didn't seem to recognize him either and just gave him an odd look for bumping into him and walked off with an indignant 'hmph'. Though a little birdie brought him back to reality as it hopped from one branch to another, causing a loud crack above him. Slowly opening his eyes, Bray took in a sharp breath as one often does after a sudden wake. Then the bird, as if it weren't satisfied by merely waking him, deciding to dive bomb him before flying off which only made Bray squeak pathetically before flailing his arms and loosing his balance on the branch.
Falling gracelessly from the tree, he proved the old saying wrong by landing square on his butt and barely missed the girl sitting at the bottom of the tree. Laying down on the ground after impact, he groaned lightly about the pain. It would be just wonderful to get a bruise there, he'd love to try and explain it to Fay. But a few seconds later, he realized that his head was resting on someone's thigh which also lead him to the conclusion that he wasn't alone.
Apruptly sitting up, he turned around to see who it was with the hopes that it wasn't another guy. That would just be awkward. "Oh, I'm sorry!" He said quickly, only to recognize who it was in an instant. He was wrong about another guy being awkward, because this was much more so.
"Oh... sorry, Ellie, you alright?"
[what's that supposed to mean?! i'm sorry?! my bray writing's so off lately. ] [/blockquote]
