Kendra Hargreaves
>>The Basics<<
[Name]: Kendra Penelope Hargreaves
[Name Analysis]:
Kendra = From a surname which has several different origins. It could be from the Old English given names Cyneric "royal power" or Ceneric "bold power", or from the Welsh name Cynwrig "high hill". It can also be an Anglicized form of the Gaelic surname Mac Eanraig meaning "son of HENRY".
Penelope = Possibly derived from Greek (penelops), a type of duck. Alternatively it could be related to (pene) "threads, woof". In Homer's epic the 'Odyssey' this is the name of the wife of Odysseus, forced to fend off suitors while her husband is away fighting at Troy. It has occasionally been used as a English given name since the 16th century.
Hargreaves = This surname is of Anglo-Saxon origin, and is a locational name from any of the various places in Cheshire, Northamptonshire and Suffolk called "Hargrave" or "Hargreave" recorded in the Domesday Book of 1086 as "Haregrave" and "Haragraua" respectively. The meaning can be derived from either the Olde English pre 7th century "har", meaning grey or "hara", meaning "hare", plus the element "graf", grove, or "groefe" meaning a thicket. Locational surnames were developed when former inhabitants of a place moved to another area, usually to seek work, and were best identified by the name of their birthplace. Early examples of the surname include: William de Hargreve (Lancashire, 1296), and Henry Hargrevys (Yorkshire, 1486). In the modern idiom the name is spelt Hargreave(s), Hargrave(s), Hargreves and Hargroves. Probably the most notable bearer of the name is James Hargreaves (died 1778), inventor of the "spinning-jenny" circa 1764. A Coat of Arms granted to the Hargreaves family of Broad Oak, Lancashire, is a shield divided quarterly gold and green, on a fesse ermine between three stags courant counterchanged, a red fret. A green buck's head erased, attired gold, with a silver collar charged with a red fret, in the mouth a sprig of oak, forms the Crest. The Motto "Fortitudine et prudentia" translates as "By fortitude and prudence". The first recorded spelling of the family name is shown to be that of Geoffrey de Hargrave, which was dated 1188, in the "Pipe Rolls of Devonshire", during the reign of King Henry 11, known as the "Builder of Churches", 1154 - 1189. Surnames became necessary when governments introduced personal taxation. In England this was known as Poll Tax. Throughout the centuries, surnames in every country have continued to "develop" often leading to astonishing variants of the original spelling.

[Year]: 5th Year
[Age]: Fifteen
[Birthday]: 1st February
[Gender]: Female
[Relationship status]: Single
[Bloodline]: Muggleborn
[Patronus]: Labrador Puppy Click
[Mirror Of Erised]: Famous
More than anything being a typical female teenager, she longs for fame so much that she thinks about it constantly. She is not sure how to go about getting famous as of yet, she would prefer to be a socialite or something similar, whether it be in the muggle world or the magical world. She sees herself in the best dresses and jewellery, surrounded by flashing camera’s as she exits a limousine and walks down a red carpet for some sort of party or premiere, being recognised by everyone who lays eyes on her.
[Boggart]: Herself looking a complete mess.
Kendra is very vain, and although she is not the bravest of Gryffindors, she would be able to deal with most things, although she would freak out if she was to see herself with messy hair, no make-up (or even worse ruined make-up), and basically looking like a dead girl walking. She likes to make an effort in her looks and so being the total opposite is an awful thing for her.
>>Personality<<
Kendra is not very good at school. She frequently flunks classes and it’s only when she gets help that she barely passes. Quite frankly, for what Kendra makes up in looks, her personality doesn’t compare. She can be quite mean and she tends to ignore quieter people, leaning towards more jock types and girls who are like-minded. Her social manners can surpass her sometimes and she can seem somewhat uninterested by others problems and such. She tends to keep to her own set of friends and enjoys it that way. Viewed from others perspectives, Kendra is ditzy, a ‘typical blonde’ as she never thinks before she speaks often leading to dumb things to be said. She can have a nasty streak, whether it is meant or not.
Kendra is too young to believe in love right now. She prefers the term ‘lust’ and she is unsure if she will ever find the right guy for her to ‘love’. She is not shy by all means, and so if she likes you she will flirt. She prefers not to be the one to ask out instead preferring the guy to chase after her, which is what she thinks all men should do, and they should pay for the date. She likes to be treated like a princess and to feel protected by her man.
‘Keep your friends close and your enemies closer’ is a saying Kendra lives by. She doesn’t trust anyone except people who have proved their loyalty to her beforehand. She always keeps a close eye on her enemies to make sure she can intercept what they are planning. With her friends, she likes to talk about anything and everything in simpleton terms. She is not one to talk about deep and meaningful things unless it’s about love (or lust)
Depending on the situation, Kendra would not be much of a typical Gryffindor. She would be brave up to a point but if it was life threatening she would more than likely break down crying and give up. She tends to rely on others to help get her out of sticky situations.
>>Appearance<<
Kendra has long flame red hair almost always worn straight. She takes great pride in her hair as it is naturally a redhead and it is a big focus point on any person. Kendra always has bright eyes, yet they are a mismatched colour that can neither be counted as blue nor green. They are a colour entirely of their own.
Kendra tries to eat well, snacking on fruit whenever she can and eating small light meals instead of big ones. She keeps her weight down and tends not to exercise because she dislikes sweating. She is not toned but is naturally slim anyway. She has a cute button nose that will keep her looks youthful for many years.
>>History<<
Born in Australia to Amanda Quentin and James Hargreaves, Kendra Penelope Hargreaves was brought up in her home country for nine years before her parents decided to move to Scotland to get a great and beautiful start for her and her siblings.
Life in Australia was good; as good as it could be for a child. The Hargreaves’ was never short for money as Kendra’s father was a very successful owner of wand makers, the biggest in Australia and New Zealand. ‘Thimble’s wand makers’ were the name, and were the primary wand makers for down under for hundreds of years. Deciding that there was a space open to open up for Europe, James moved his family to Scotland to make a land base for shipping wands all over Europe as well as Australia. Kendra had a good and fulfilling childhood, getting rather spoilt by her father and more often than not singing into a hairbrush and putting on shows with her sister in the front room. It soon became clear Kendra loved the high life and wanted to become famous. Even since she was a child she was stubborn with what she should wear and was very fashion conscious.
Helena gained her father’s brains whereas Kendra got her mother’s looks. Growing up with three sisters the house was always full of laughter and singing, not to mention girly tantrums, messy wardrobes and sob stories of boys and Barbie dolls.
A couple of years later, Kendra began attending Hogwarts two years after her sister Helena. Her sister was sorted into Ravenclaw and was a little sceptical at first of Kendra being a Gryffindor.
Kendra was happy to be at Hogwarts, and soon made a name for herself even in her younger years. She is very strong willed and is the popular type that if Hogwarts had it, she would be prom queen every year.
During her first few years at Hogwarts, getting used to the new place and popularising herself, she grew close to Kieran Davies as friends. It was in her fourth year that she began to really notice and start dating Kieran Davies, a fellow Gryffindor. At the time both were hormonal and they seemed perfect for each other. They were inseparable and were extremely loved up. The pair dated for a year until they started to drift apart as they both grew. Young and naive the pair thought they were deeply in love, but after finding their true selves and growing separately, their ‘love’ changed and both soon strayed away from each other. It was gradual but like most first loves; Kieran will always be ‘the one that got away’ for Kendra. These things happen however, and they remain friends.
