– Appearance –
When looking at the tall sixth year, what you noticed first about her is how confident she is. It gives her a confident swing to her hips as she walks, a proud smile as she winks at people in the corridors, and an eccentric dress sense. Tall for her age, Amara stands close to 5' 9 and while she is tall she is not exactly slim. She is very curvy and she enjoys flaunting it all she can, standing – or sitting even – well straight with her head held high. While Amara is related to a one Marcus Conway, the two look little like each other thought when standing together you can tell that they are related by the shape of their short button noses. The Claw has thick, wavy, dark red hair that she leaves loose as much as she can with a heavy fringe. She doesn't like having the confines of it tied up though she had her moments where her hair just has to be out of her face. Her long face has lost all it’s roundness from when she was younger but her dark brown eyes are as dark and watchful as ever.
It is not uncommon for Amara to wear a smile on her face. It is usually because she was just laughing at something but more often then that it’s a cheeky grin or a smirk. Her face becomes radiant though when she laughs at something she finds honestly funny. She loves to dress up and so when she is out of school uniform she will usually have make-up on, generally heavy eyeliner and mascara just to give that little bit of definition.
– Personality –
Amara is a bright girl who catches concepts quickly and is able to explain to those who don’t understand. She likes to help others but still keeps to her playful nature while doing so. She rarely takes things seriously and manages to have fun while doing anythings she has to. She enjoys teasing people too and as she is helpful she is cunning and knows how to keep people in her debt. A natural show off, Mara is quick to boast about her special talents. She isn’t particularly brave but she’s happy to be adventurous when there’s a cute guy involved or she gets something out of it.– History –
Lloyd and Abby had a daughter, Amara Fern Conway was the name she was given and already at that ages it was clear that her hair and eyes would be dark brown. She grew up like any other muggle girl would have at the time and soon got a brother, who she loved to tease and annoy. There was one difference to the small Conway family, their uncle had been shunned from the family for reasons neither Conway child knew of just yet but other then that their life was fairly normal.Along with the celebration of her tenth birthday, Amara got a surprise visit from her uncle who said he had heard she had received a letter from a school. It was true that she had but being the teasing type she assumed is was a joke. Lloyd and Abby became exceedingly exasperated as her uncle explained it was no hoax and that Mara was going to go to Hogwarts School to be taught the magical arts. You must understand that Mr and Mrs Conway are traditionalists and don’t accept change and things outside their sphere of understanding very easily.
Amara fought for the opportunity to go to this school and eventually her parents conceded. She spent a week before school with her uncle, acquiring what she needed for school and began to enjoy his company. He was an opinionated man who knew how to get things his way. He haggled for things most others wouldn’t be able to and more often then not got it the way he wanted it. Her parents weren’t there to see her off but her uncle was there and it was with his smiling face that she said goodbye to her old way of life and said hello to being a witch.
From then on, Amara was always excited, always happy and always ready for anything the magical world threw her way. She does well in her classes because she knows that she might have Mathematics instead and that she didn’t was good incentive to prove she was worthy of such a life. She then had bragging rights over her brother who was still too young to go to Hogwarts but when he received his letter Mar was too happy to tell him all sorts of nasty things that might or might not happen.
She tries to keep away from Marcus as much as she can as there was no one around to help her when she arrived and it made her more independent too. That way she also doesn’t have to baby-sit her brother. She enjoys being out of doors and in the Library, quiet places where she can either read or think or do her work. Amara plays the trumpet and the guitar, though she prefers the trumpet (as it’s loud and obnoxious as she can be), and the sound of her trumpet can often be heard filling her dorm room.
