Personality:
Kelvyn is very into his work, always has been and always will be. He has travelled the earth studying that backgrounds and facts of Ancient Runes having always found the topic fascinating. Kelvyn has been described as "Old before his time" before, as he has an old heart and old beliefs. His work kept him away from England for most of his life, travelling to see Runic Temples, Ruined Runic Temples would be a more accurate term for this, trying to learn more about the Runes. He is passionate and one would say over-exciteable when it comes to this. Kelvyn isnt one for social gatherings, its rare you will see him in the great hall, he's usually too preoccupied pouring over old scriptures in his office. Kelvyn has respect for everyone's views and knows that not everyone will appreciate the Runes like he does. But language had to start somewhere, and Kelvyn, though he isnt sure, suspects Runes were one of the first written languages, though they have divinatory meanings now, Kelvyn thinks once, Runes were used a lot like the Alphabet now. Long before Latin or any other ancient language, though he thinks the words that the runes spoke have been lost. Yet this is just a theory, though he is sure if it is true, he will find out.

Appearance:
Kelvyn stands at around 5'9, average height. There is nothing special about his looks, never has been, never will be. He weighs 11 stone, average weight for someone of his height. He has light brown hair, tinted now with grey and its usually kept tidy and swept back. His eyes are a light blue, probably the only thing about him that is not average. Though they should be, they are not tired and worn, but alive and bursting with energy, information and knowledge. They have seen many things over the course of his life, and though the rest of him always looks tired and worn, his eyes are ever alert.

History:
His school days were nothing of particular interest. He was sorted into the house of Ravenclaw and exceeding in the study of Runes. He passed all his exams with flying colours as was to be expected and it was said he could have been anything he wanted to be. But instead took to being a travellor. His mother was not proud of this desicion and said he was wasting his life. Though Kelvyn did not believe this to be true.

Fourteen years after he left school, he was on the road, travelling around learning everything books and school could not teach him about Runes and he slowly came to realise, even if he had five lifetimes, he would never fully understand them, he would never find every rune there was to be found as a lot of them were lost. Kelvyn began to believe that the runes were of significant importance, maybe if the right runes in the right place, would open up something, or show them something that had long since been forgotten. Though he had to stop his research after fourteen years.

His mother grew sick, his mother was 49 when Kelvyn left to go travelling, and he returned fourteen years later, at the age of 31, when she was 73. She was dying of old age and there was nothing he could do about it. Two years he was by her side, never leaving her side. 33 years old Kelvyn was, when his mother was taken from him.

He never blamed himself like most people did, but wished he could have spent a bit more time with her. He sold the house they had in Wales as it had too many memories and bought one in Scotland. For three years he lived there alone. Never mingling with anyone, just sitting in his study. 36 years old, never married, didnt have any children and was sat in a musty office, he began to think his mother was right, maybe he had wasted his life. But it was nearly half gone now, he had lived, he had seen the world, and he was glad for it.

Two years later, he took up a job offer in Hogwarts, teaching Ancient Runes, and though he doesnt have it in him anymore to travel, he will urge on the kids to get out and see the world while they still can, theres so much out there people do not know, new things being discovered all the time. Nobody should miss out on that.
