The Character

Name: Charlie Peers

Age and year: 16/sixth year

Personality: Charlie is a reasonable person, young and carefree, she easily wins friends and enemies alike with her non-stop chatter. Even when she doesn’t know an answer in lessons she’ll still contribute in some way, either with a joke, (she’s like that; jokes in nervy situations). She of course likes to get along with people, but abides by house boundaries and tends to take stereotypes as rule of thumb, so don’t be surprised if she’s pretty prejudice against you, she doesn’t mean it harshly. Quick to laugh Charlie breaks into smiles often, even when she shouldn’t, somehow she’ll find a situation funny and she can’t help but let out those laughs, which tends to exasperate some people; particularly Slytherins. Not overly bright nor dim neither Charlie is in the middle ground, loves to answer questions to get house points, but usually can’t think up the answers. Her mouth is likely to run her into a pile of unwanted trouble, and usually isn’t quick enough to get her out of it; pretty helpful. So detentions aren’t a norm for her, but neither are they a rarity. She doesn’t go out to get into trouble; it just seems to find her from time to time, it’s not her fault the forest looked so invitingly dark and creepy, it was only natural to venture inside, and stumbling across a centaur had been complete fluke, she couldn’t have done that on purpose, could she?

Unlike most girls her age she doesn’t have a major obsession with guys, as she finds them mainly obnoxious twirps; the guys who want to date at least. Much preferring easier friendships with guys she doesn’t know why they particularly want more; aren’t they satisfied with simpler friendship rather than a complex whirling of emotions in a relationship? Charlie definitely is, but perhaps she hasn’t found the right guy to sweep her off her feet? Being rather romantically inclined due to her muggle upbringing she half expects and yearns for a knight in shining armour to appear and save her from some terrible fate; being stuck in a tower would be too boring, but perhaps escaping the clutches of some evil dude would do her nicely.

Being loyal but not particularly protective of her friends, who she believes can easily take care of themselves, Charlie is an easy going girl who makes lasting friendships easy due to her friendly buzzing and bubbling personality, yeah she’s worse than champagne sometimes.


Appearance: Hazel brown eyes are illuminated nicely with white but not overly pale skin, her light brown hair hangs, usually loose, down to her slim shoulders. Slender and quite tall, Charlie still doesn’t stand out much from the crowd, she prefers to blend in. With the right amount of subtle make-up she could look even more beautiful; a real gem, but she tends not to use any, never on a day to day basis, only on special occasions which are pretty few and far between.


History: Pleasantly surprised when her letter of acceptance to Hogwarts arrived in her Father’s lap five years ago, she was as one would expect; petrified and exhilarated at the thought of magic actually existing. She’d also yearned for a different world, loved reading fantasy books and watching extravagant films of other worlds at the muggle cinemas, but she’d never quite truly believed it could be a reality. Feeling blessed she’d arrived at Hogwarts with her heart in her mouth, completely new and afraid, not only a new school but an entirely new world was rather daunting to say the very least.

But she’d survived with only a few minor burns, from an exploding wand at one point, thankfully not her own as there was no way she could afford a new one, seeing as her family are poor compared to magical community standards of living at least. Developing relatively strong friendships throughout her time at Hogwarts Charlie is a stalwart friend and companion; sometimes a little drippy and clingy for no apparent reason, other than it being her; random.

Relationships with Charlie

You understand me? Yay
Charlie isn't a difficult girl to get to know it's whether you like her strange ways or not. For those who have accepted her for what she is, major problems of daydreaming and an obsession with nature, oh and also slipping in and out of conversations by complete mistake, and love her for what she is instead of trying to meld her into what they want her to be, they can be found hanging around simply gazing at the natural world or chattering excitedly about nothing in particular, once you're in this category there's almost no escape, Charlie won't latch onto you like a spider, but she will come to trust you completely with any secret she has to tell. She will have a completely blind trust in those who reach this pinnacle which they could easily use to manipulate her.


We'll have a natter
Charlie will easily to talk to anyone and everyone, but it's people who actually listen that fit into this category, they don't have to fully understand what she will trail off about, only look as though they are listening. Just a little patience is required.


I should know your name shouldn't I?
Being terribly forgetful and bascially pretty dizzy; as bubbly as champagne comes to mind Charlie still talks a lot and is generally easy to get along with, so though she'll talk easy enough to you, she's likely to not know your name; you haven't reached her inner circle of best mates.



You're not the nicest person are you?
Charlie is having trouble getting to know you, probably because of a darker side to you which she just doesn't get, there are times when she's oblivious to it and other times when she is downright shocked by some of the things you come out with; Slytherins come to mind here.


I really don't think we get along, sorry.
Charlie rarely makes enemies and dislikes other people, but people can often dislike her, being a muggleborn most pure Slytherins are highly against her, and that doesn't even take into account her strange personality that some can find downright annoying.


I'm getting mixed feelings here.
Do I love or hate you? Charlie really has got no idea she's completely confused, it tends to be startlingly beautiful eyes that seem to draw her attention, and she gets rather lost in them, even if you're a nasty piece of work she won't mind, she hasn't fallen for you; far from it, it's only your natural beauty I'm afraid; as she's obsessed with all things natural.



No I'm really not interested, I'm just not like that.
Most boys aiming for Charlie's affections (if there are any) are found simmering with anger right here, Charlie isn't interested in guys, she can control her emotions completely and rarely even fancies any guys. Her point blank no in the face of someone asking her out doesn't go down well and she's never had a long-term relationship, she's perfectly contented waiting for the right guy to come along, and you're just not it, and she's no qualms whatsoever in telling you that.


You don't quite fit the bill.
Charlie does have feelings for you, but they aren't particularly deep or strong, only one guy so far has championed for her affections at that ended within the space of a month. You're getting there but you haven't quite made the right first impression, perhaps her affections are growing on you, but it's going to take time for her to properly get to like and actually display her liking of you. Most guys can't stand the wait, she views it as their lookout, not hers.


Oh god I think you're the one, at last.
Charlie's believes in true love, of being swept off her feet by a handsome, chivalrous stranger, even a knight in shining armour. This is where her romantic side really kicks in, she's completely head over heels for you and will daydream constantly about you, even in your presence, her face will light up whenever she sees you and she will become literally obsessed, even the natural world that she adores will be abondened when the right guy comes along. Only perfection will win Charlie's heart completely as she believes firmly in a one true love, so she's likely to be alone in this world for a very long time until she lowers her high, exacting standards. Perhaps somebody will sneak into this category given time, or the blissful perfection of a really awe inspiring first impression? She can dream.
