What really mattered? What mattered in the world of Alexis Alméida? Nothing much. The only things that were really important to her was face. Keeping a lock on who she was. She wouldnt really describe herself as a nasty kind, but she wasnt overly nice either. She was sceptical of people she first met and being here for just over a week hardly meeting anyone she seemed to be a loner. Which was a new ground for Alexis, she wasnt used to not being surrounded by silly little followers in her year, trying to be like Alexis, but nobody was. They could dress like her, walk like her, talk like her, do their hair and makeup like her, but they werent her. She was who she was, and nobody could take it from her.
To be honest, not being followed around all day by hoards of people, mini Alexis's and basic wannabes was actually making a nice change for her. She was now, more often than not, relaxed. She hardly got worked up anymore and hardly ever let her temper fly because she knew if she wanted to she could walk down the corridor without someone yelling, "Hey Alexis wait up!" in a squeeky high pitched, and rather annoying voice.
She was enjoying the time she had, enjoying some her time. It was like a whole new world had been discovered and the days of yesterday seemed so far behind her. True she still had a lot to live upto in terms of her family, but when it came to face within the school she knew she could create and take on a whole new persona because nobody really knew what she was like. She had no expectations to live upto and this made possibilites seem endless.
As she walked out onto the grounds, the sun just setting over the horizon giving off a golden glow over the grounds. Not a cloud in the sky and yet it was still raining. The leaves on the grass were a golden brown, but no longer crispy as she walked over them because of the rain. She hadnt bothered with the hood on her cloak, the rain water refreshing her as she made her way down to the lake.
Now most would call this madness, purposly going out to the lake in the pouring down rain. Though Alexis enjoyed the rain, she enjoyed the feel of it on her face and it wasnt exactly raining hard. The raindrops gently splashed at the side of her face and ran down her cheeks, some going down her neck and making her laugh because it tickled so much. If anything, she knew because of this rain it was likely she wouldnt bump into anyone though she wouldnt put it past some people to be as crazy as she was to actually go out in it to sit beside the lake and watch as the raindrops made ripples on the lakes surface.
