It had been an awfully long time since Kelvyn had set foot within these walls. Twenty years to be exact, though it felt much longer. Nothing had changed, not from the Paintings to the floor, or the tapestries. It seemed no work had been done to the place. Keeping the place alive so to speak, if walls could talk, he'd expect these walls would say quite a bit. The Ancient Runes professor was making his way upto the Gryffindor tower. It had been a long time also since he had set foot in there and part of him wanted to know if that place had changed at all.
In all his years as a researcher, he never once thought he would be back here. Not that he minded, he loved Hogwarts. It had been a second home to him all those years ago, but even so, Kelvyn never once thought he would become a Professor, but here he was. He guessed you never really did know what was going to happen in your future, it was only your past that was certain.
"Password?" Came the lazy voice of the fat lady. "Fortuna Major"
With that she gave a small nod of her head and swung forward. Climbing into the portrait hole, he took a look around. Nothing had changed since he was a student here. The tapestries hung in the same way, the sofa was in the same place and the fire crackled in the same way. This was his house once more. Though this time, he was head of the house, not just the headboy or prefect. He took a seat on the sofa and silently wondered if the students knew they were having a new head.

Sarie was sitting by the fire just staring into it. When she heard the portrait open. She looked away from the flames to see a man that see never seen before. She stared at him like she had been staring at the fire looking at it but not seeing it. Her eyes where blank thought she didn't know it.
She was thinking what was happing to the school and what is might be able to do about it. They where taking the things she knew and loved. She wondered if this stranger was from the ministry or did he just join the staff.

Sunlight crept through the red curtains of the dormitory; stretching Blake sat up in bed, ruffling his hair. The sound of snoring greeted his ears almost straight away; looking to the far left of the room he could see Harri, fast asleep as usual. Grinning he threw a pillow at him. “Wake up dude!” Then laughing as he was greeted by a loud grunt and curse, he slipped on his robes and headed on down the stairs to the commonroom.
The room was pretty much empty, letting out a loud yawn, he jumped over the back of the nearest couch, grunting as he did so, as well as landing slightly awkwardly on his back. But he did not overally care too much. Rubbing his eyes, he yawned once again.
Looking around, Blake suddenly realised he was not alone. There was a younger Gryffindor, and also sat on one of the other sofas a man whom he did not recognise. Sitting up, he smiled at the man out of manners more than anything. “Hello Professor.” He stated with an additional nod. Blake assumed that he must be a Professor; otherwise he would not be in here in the first place.

Julianna had a hard day the day before. For some reason she was getting the distinct feeling that one of her teachers seriously didn't like her though she didn't really know why. She was the kind of girl who really hated people not liking her it bugged her to death for some reason and somehow it caused her to have a horrible nights sleep.
As the sun crept in red slipped underneath her closed eye lids forcing her to open them up. Yet another day and she was still not used to life at Hogwarts. Glancing around the room she noticed that she was pretty much all alone perhaps everyone else had already woken up she figured she probably should too. She dressed quickly and headed down stairs into the common room.
She was kind of surprised to find a prfoessor there sitting on the couch comfortable as you please. What was he doing there? she wondered as she walked over "hello Professor" were the words she spoke a quizical look on her face.

Patrolling the corridors took all night but there's no rest for the wicked. As soon as she got in there was studying to do her final year at school was proving to be the hardest. So she was only actually working on two hours of sleep. The bags under her eyes were proof of that. Her transfiguration book was still on the bed next to her so that when she moved it slipped and fell onto the floor waking her roomate who grumbed rolled her eyes at her then went back to sleep.
Ginny didn't want to be anymore rude so she got up she could probably do some patrolling before the day really started.
The common room was bright and sunny and there were already others millng about including "oh no" she sighed as she witnessed the new head of house sitting there. Ginny had been told about it and it completely slipped her mind. "Professor Saunders our new head of house it's a pleasure to meet you, I'm Ginny Weasley Gryffindor Prefect," she held out her hand for him to take.

He looked upon the young girl sat on the couch who had a rather dazed and dreamly look on her face. One in this day and age would probably describe it as gormless, though Kelvyn was rather disturbed by it. Though he was left with little time to ask her if something was wrong as a rather biosterous young lad came bounding in, probably one of the Trio that Kelvyn had been warned about, sure enough, it was who he was told about, one of the three at least.
"You must be,Mr Adams. Where is Mr Greg and Mr Moran, They're usually with you" The professor smiled, "I've heard all about you three."
He knew that the student was probably wondering why he was in the common room, it was not every day you saw a professor in here, and he was surely not going to make a fuss about it. As yet another student walked down, he gave them a warm smile as the young girl Greeted him, the piece of Parchment flashed up a name, Julianna Farraday. Yes this nifty piece of paper was going to help him greatly. At least until he got used to everyones names. Though he seriously doubted he would be able to remember them all.
He looked up as yet another voice floated over to him. Though he needed no charmed parchment to know who this one was, as before he knew what was happening, she was already shaking his hand and introducing herself. With a small laugh, he let the girls hand free, at least one of these people knew who he was. Gryffindors, sometimes they really were more brawn than brain. He would know too, he used to belong to this house. Still, he didnt have to worry about that.
"Yes," He said with a smile, "I am Kelvyn Saunders, Your new head of house as the other one," He furrowed his brow, "Seemed to have well, dissapeared. Anyway, it is a pleasure to meet you all."

Blake was slightly shocked that the Professor knew who they were already. Though, most people did of course, he did not expect to be known straight away by a professor, students were different, of course they should realise who he is.
Addressing the Professor with a smile, he replied, “Yesh indeed I am Blake Adams, sir. I trust you heard only good things?” This was not on an overally formal level, however it was generally a good test as to whether a Professor was strict or not, it was after all not even said in a cheeky way. “As for the other two, Mr Greg is currently snoozing away. Lazy people nowadays.”, Blake tutted loudly with an additional little shake of the head, to show a little playful disgust at the matter. “As for Mr Moran, I do not know myself Sir.” A little shrug of the shoulders empathised his point. He did not keep tabs on them. They may be the popular Gryffindor Trio, however most of the time they were off avoiding certain groups of ladies.
Two more Girls entered the commonroom, one of which seemed to know as much as himself, and the other, Ginny Weasley, being the prefect, of course knew exactly whom he was. It was almost a swotty kind of mannerism of hers, but meh, each to their own. Though sitting up out of interest, he swung his legs round of the arm of the sofa, and placed them on the floor. This made him look slightly more alert. “New head of house eh, nice! Well pleasure to meet you professor Saunders.” And with this he got to his feet and shook the Professors hand.
Sitting back upon his sofa once again, he enquired out of general interest. “So Professor. What made you return to Hogwarts if you don’t mind me asking? I presume you are teaching a subject also?”

She had not meant to sound like some stuffy thirty something year old who was on a job interview or something, unfortunately for her that's exactly how it came out. Her face reddened slightly as she glanced over at her fellow students. Was this really Ginny Weasley? Nah it couldn't be. The girl she used to be wouldn't have made such a big deal about a professor being in the common room even if it was the new head of house. Perhaps the whole prefect thing had actually gotten to her. Like her mother always said she hoped Ginny would be more like her older brother who shall not be named, and at that moment she had sounded just like him. Pulling her hand back she simply smiled now not really wanting to say another word because she had already drawn enough attention to herself.

Sarie blinked and seemed to return to the world around her. She had heard what the Professor had said. The new head of Gryffindor maybe she should tell about her sleep walking Professor Hubbles had talked to the Fat lady about but some times she could get out the Lady was sleeping.
But she did feel relaxed when he didn't mention the Ministry. She only like two people from the Ministry these days which where the two teachers here and she didn't want any more there. Sarie hadn't realized she had been staring at him. She stood up and walked over and said. "Sorry, I'm Sarie Thimble Professor," She smiled at Ginny who had done the same thing and felt embarrassed about it. She really needed to keep here mind together

Kelvyn gave a soft chuckle. Good things about the Gryffindor Trio only included their nack for having ladies follow them around at the drop of a hat. Though truth, he had not heard anything bad about any of his students. Though there was one or two that worried him, he wouldnt be a good Head of House if he didnt worry about his students every once in a while would he?
"Yes indeed Blake, only good things." He smiled broadly at Blake as he listened to the young Gryffindor. "Well if Mr Moran is anything like I've heard, no doubt he's sat in the courtyard surrounded by ladies. Probably boasting about Dragon Slaying."
Of course he was joking, he knew the lads didnt boast about anything but their looks, at least they were having fun, which was all Kelvyn wanted for his students. He wanted them to do well but enjoy themselves too, it seemed as though Blake, Harrison and Toby had the combination down to a perfect T.
"It is a pleasure to meet you all too," he smiled once more as Blake asked another question which made him chuckle, quite inquisitive this one was, but he liked that, it showed he had a sharp mind. "Many things made me return. I was travelling, I was a researcher, dont get me wrong I still research but I no longer travel, something happened which made me have to return home and then I was asked if I was interested in becoming the Head of House." He smiled, "I was researching Runes, going to different Runic temples over the world, they thought I would be best to fill the position of Ancient Runes Professor." Running a hand through his brown hair, "So yes, in answer to your question, I am taking a lesson, and I will be watching for you and your trio"
He said the last part in a joking like manner, Kelvyn was a nice enough person to get along with, even in his lessons, but he took his work seriously. He would allow jokes, a few laughs and even chatter, but when he spoke in his lesson, he demanded silence and attention. He wasnt strict, but he knew how to control his students. He looked up at the Gryffindor girl who had been staring at him, she had a slightly worried look on her face.
"Hello Sarie," He smiled, "Is everything okay, you seem to be troubled."

Sarie flushed. "Is that easy to see." She thought.
'Of couse it is you where never good at hiding you emotions.' What are you dong back? 'You asked me a question I don't go away and come back I'm always here I just don't talk much.'
She tired to cover up her blush by staring at the fire. She didn't want to talk about this in the common room. That was the last thing she needed was for her house mates to think she was crazy.

Having received yet another book from her recently married brother the day before, Jac had been up all night reading. It was so obviously different from the other things Ed had written as it was more of a journal then a hand book and Ed really explored what their mother called the “emotion factor” with it. Jac was very proud that her brother was finally getting into proper writing and not just the flimsy stuff he did before.
One thing this new addition to her collection meant was that she read it from cover to cover all of the night before, waiting for Ginny to return from patrolling. By the time Jac realised it was nearly two o’clock and Ginny was still not back she had finished the book and gone to sleep. She woke to the sound of a thud and lifted her head slowly. It was Ginny. Looking at the clock on her bedside table, Jac wondered if Ginny had had any sleep. It was time for her to get up now in any case. Ginny left the room as Jac threw off the covers. Beth seemed to have also been woken but she just rolled over and went back to sleep.
Jac tucked her feet into her dark red fluffy slippers and pulled on her dressing gown, tying it in front of her as she walked over to Beth’s bed. Jac gave her a hard smack on the rump. “Common, sleepy, time to get up.” Beth groaned and pulled the covers over her head. Jac laughed, not worry about waking people; they needed waking after all. She headed down stairs to see if she could track Ginny down but when she got there she noticed something strange. There was a professor sitting on the sofa, with Sarie, Ginny and other near.
Taking confident steps forward, and changing her hair to a dark blue that looked black, Jac smiled at everyone. “Good morning all,” she chimed happily. “Hiya Prof.” The thought that a professor was sitting in their common room meant that he was their new head of house. Why else would a staff member bother about the students at this hour? “Hey, Gin,” Jac said clapping her hand onto the red head’s shoulder. “Didn’t hear you come in last night. Were you patrolling all night?”

Post by Harrison Greg on May 15, 2008 13:31:33 GMT
Harrison was having a very nice dream about lying on a beach in the sun, the sound of the ocean in the distance and some rather attractive girls playing a game of beach ball in very skimpy bikini’s. He was rather enjoying himself watching them bounce around when suddenly he was hit by something, at first he thought it was the beach ball but the dream soon shattered and he heard Blake shouting at him, he was not on a beach, but at Hogwarts.
Swearing loudly falling out of his bed Harrison very grumpy dressed himself and beautified himself before heading out of the commonroom, picking up the pillow as he went, planning on getting his own back on Mr Adams for rudely waking him from his dream. As he slowly stumbled down the stairs he noticed that he was clearly not the only one to be leaving the commonroom at this point and found himself following a far to awake Jac Biggerstall down the stairs.
Her rather cheery greeting to everyone allowed Harrison to slip into the main commonroom without being noticed and at the first sight of his brown haired friend he raised the pillow above his head and silently approached. Harrison was soon standing right behind the sofa where his mate was sitting then quickly and with a surprising amount of force Harrison hit Blake on the head with the pillow.
“That is for waking me up for bloody bast…”
Harrison broke off before the end of the word could come out of his mouth, he realised they were not alone in the room and by that he meant it was not just students…there was a professor, the new head of house. Harrison quickly dropt the pillow and it took him every inch of will power he had in his body to stop himself from laughing, a brilliant first impression to make, abusing his fellow housemates both verbally and physically and the worst thing about it was Harrison knew Blake would not let him forget it quickly.
