Alessa walked into The Hog's Head. She enjoyed the atmosphere of this place, yet it always seemed a little dreary. She closed the door and looked around the pub to see it was quite busy, but not as busy as usual. She took off her Hufflepuff scarf and walked over to the bar. A barman she hadn't seen before was cleaning a tankard and abruptly twirled around.
"What can I get you, Miss" he said, with a slight farmer-ish style accent. He was still cleaning the tankard from the inside with a white cloth, patches of dirt were seen on it every so often.
She looked at him and studied his face a little, deep lines curved it and his grey hair and moustache all seemed to blend into his pale face.
"I'll have a butter beer please" Alessa answered. Once he'd started catering her, she looked around the pub once more. She saw a dark shadow in the corner, then afixing her eyes, she noticed it was a male. He looked alone, or maybe just bored. She flickered her eyes towards the otherside of the pub and everyone else was laughing and having a good time.
"Here you go Miss" he said, as she spun back around and smiled.
"Thank you, here you go" she said passing him the correct money. He thanked her for the money, and proceeded to tidy his bar. Alessa turned around and lent her elbows on her bar, with tankard in hand. She took a sip of the beer and instantly felt much warmer.
She looked back over to the man in the corner. He really did look lonely. She knew how he felt, she felt lonely too. She sat up and walked over to him, clutching her beer for warmth and nerve.
She coughed a little, and he looked up.
"Hi, do you mind if I sit with you?" she proceeded.
