Laura had ran into the Great Hall, grabbed some food stuffs she could reach, and ran out. Out the Entrance Hall and into the grounds. She had been waiting for her opportunity to explore the grounds and had become impatient so took an opportunity. She could eat while she walked, she kept telling herself. With all her supplies (of food) in her bag and her wand in her pocket, Laura was set to go exploring but she only had an hour so would have to make the most of it while she could.
The first place she came to was the Great Lake and boy, it deserved the name. The expanse of water stretched on for as far as she could see. She came to the pebbly beach and heard the small smooth rocks crunch under her shoes. She smiled at the calming sound of the water slowly lapping onto the shore and smelt the water and wet earth filled her nostrils. Laura stopped walking after a short while and simply looked over the waters, cool and calm. She dug in her bag and took out an apple, ate it slowly, while standing and watching the life go on about her.

Eloise was again heading down to her favorite place in all Hogwarts. She really felt at home on the beach, the white sand beneath her feet and the sound of the water gently hitting the rocks. It was a slightly chilly day, at least the the French Princess. In France, Eloise was sure her old friends were heading to the beach, the real beach, with ocean waves and salt water. Here, Eloise put on a soft coat and beret before heading out to her favorite spot.
The sixth year had already eaten a generous lunch, having her free period right before. She now had time to be free, and be herself. Eloise hadn't made that many friends yet. Well, I should say she hadn't made any friends her age yet. She happened to always run into first and second years. However, she wasn't complaining, it was nice to talk to someone as new as she was to Hogwarts.
As she started to walk on the shore, she spotted a lone figure, eating something. Eloise smiled and headed over to talk to her. As she got closer, the French girl realized that it was a young girl. Eloise was slightly disappointed, but she walked closer anyway.
" 'ello." She said in he thick accent. A chilly breeze had kicked up, blowing Eloise's dark hair back. She reached up to keep her hat on her head. Politly she asked: "May I seet down?" with a smile of course.

Laura had become lost in thought when she heard someone say something she didn't quite hear. Turning around she saw a Hufflepuff girl, taller then she was naturally, with a lovely beret on her head. Laura grinned at the girl, confused for a moment, still lost in thought, then she frowned. She wasn't sure if she had heard what she thought she had so she asked.
"Did you say 'hallo'?" she asked. It was an odd question but one she needed answered. That way she could say hello back or forget about doing that and dive straight into a conversation. Laura turned in her stance so she could face the girl and smiled in her confusion. It wasn't often that she got approached by older students, unless they were her brothers or had a bone to pick with her about her brothers or knew her brothers or had anything to do with her brothers.

"No." Eloise said, wrinkling her nose slightly. "I sed 'ello." What didn't this girl get. It was a simple greeting. Eloise had encountered many miscommunication already, but never with a simple greeting like hello. "Like, 'ello! 'Ow are you?" Eloise said, raising an eyebrow.
Shrugging, Eloise sat down next to the standing girl. Now comfortable, or as comfortable as you couldbe on the ground, she smiled up at her. "What eez your name?" She asked the younger girl, who seemed quite struck that an older student had come over to talk to her.
"eez zere soomting wrong?" she asked in question to the girl's confused look. "Do I 'ave soomting on my face?" she asked, horrified that a defect could be ruining her beauty. She immediately felt her face for any roughness, but didn't feel anything.
Eloise just couldn't get used to these English customs. In France if someone had something one there face like a smudge of dirt of something, the person would be calmly told or helped. However, Eloise had come to learn that here students would rather have a good laugh before the person was told that they have a large pool of jelly on their cheek. Gastly behavior.
