Nodding as he listed them, Katya smiled, as this list was way longer than hers, which was still at one, but wavering at two, as Ashton might be her friend someday. He didn't seem to want to avoid her like many others did, so there was always that chance.. ' They sound very nice. Except the last part. ' She added for good measure, eyes flitting over to the person descending down the stairs and in to the room. He was.. Cristian, right? She had seen him and Ashton together, so naturally she assumed they were together. The guess was right on target, too. Score on for Kitty!
Agreeing with him, Katya nodded, ' I miss winter. ' Soon it would get hotter and hotter, and if she couldn't stand the heat of the common room and the fire, how would she even think to last out the summer? Oh dear. ' You are Cristian, yes? '

Ash turned at she sound of a familiar voice, his face lit up in bright, beaming smile when he saw Cris. "Hey, haven't seen you all day!" he said leaning over to give Cris a hug. "Why haven't I seen you all day?" he asked, a small pout on his face.

Cris almost fell off the chair when Ash jumped to hug him. Giving a toothy cheeky grin he hugged him back. "Calm down, calm down! It's only been a few hours!" he gave a small laugh.
He was then introduced to the girl, name was Kitty. Giving her a nod, and an extended hand, he leant over to her with a friendly grin. "Oh, well hello Kitty. How are you?" he asked politely. That was the thing about Cristian, he was always so polite. A real gentleman. Opening doors for ladies etc etc, even if they thought he was being sexist. That's just how he had brought himself up, to put others first. "I miss winter too, I don't react well with the sun" he managed to reply.

Ash grumbled to himelf, "Well it felt like it was all day!" he laughed slightly in response to their conversation, "Well, what do you know, we all hate summer and love winter!"

Katya watched them embrace, smiling a little, unable to help feeling that three was now a crowd, and she was the odd one out. Hey, she wanted to be introduced to his friends, she brought this on herself. They were polite though, and managed to include her, so its all good. As for his question, she shrugged her shoulders, pointing to the bruises on her arms, making a catlike clawing motion, then changed her expression to look really mean and threatening, like a Slytherin. He'd get the picture that she wasn't doing too hot, thanks to the snakes beating her up all the time. Seeming to sigh, she nodded when Ashton spoke, finding something in common with them. Summer was too hot, and sweaty. It was nice, sure, but Winter was so serene and pretty.. When you weren't caught in a snow storm.
Linking her fingers together on her lap, Kitty watched them, waiting for something. Maybe a new conversation topic? Even she didn't know.

Ash looked over at Kitty and frowned with sympathy, and slight anger. "The Slytherin's again?" he asked, although he knew that was the answer, this was just a rhetorical question.

Cristian realised when Katya was mouthing that she was unable to talk. He had seen it before with a family who fostered him for a while. He had to learn sign language pretty quickly to understand anything that they said. Many a night were spent with them writing words down and making the sign for it so he knew what word belonged to which sign. After a few months, he had learnt the basics, which was lucky enough, because he was soon at another foster home a few weeks later.
Joining his hands together, he pushed them forwards and inwards, so they cracked. It was like he was readying himself to prepare to use a skill he hadn't used in a while, which is what he was doing, but mentally. Bringing his hand up to his mouth to cough, the then brought it back down and began to sign to the blonde; 'I hope they don't hurt anymore'. He pointed to the bruises she wore and pulled a sad face.

"The Slytherin's again?" Katya's only responce was to nod solemnly. It wasn't the first time, either. It happened recently, actually, back on the lawns. Thankfully Leo showed up and helped a little, healing it somewhat and wrapping her arms in bandages. When she felt like her arms were going to explode from lack of oxygen and blood circulation, she had removed them, albeit reluctantly. They were all she had to remind her she wasn't completely alone at this school, and for that strange, odd reason, it made her smile.
Tilting her head to the side, curious as to why Cris was cracking his fingers like a pianist getting ready to play, her face softened in to recognition as he began signing to her. Face brightened, the blonde's fingers where a whirl as she responded excitedly, surprised someone around here knew sign-language. ' Stand alone, they are fine. Unless you poked them. ' Then, ' How did you learn sign language? '

Ash's sapphire eyes flickered back and forth between Kitty and Cris, he had to admit that since he didn't know sign language and therefore, didn't know exactly what they were saying; he sort of felt like the odd-man out. He turned to Kitty and smiled, "You wanna go to Hogsmeade tomorrow? I have to go anyway, I have work. I can show you where I work."
