Dinner time, one of the busiest times for the great hall but there was definitely a problem with that. There was never a place to sit. Winnie wasn't a new student, she had been at Hogwarts since her first year but she wasn't exactly one that had tons of friends, in fact, she had lost her only friend last year. Her brother, Travis had graduated leaving her to be the last and only Carson at school. Without her usual hourd of brothers, Winnie wasn't sure what to do. She was a Hufflepuff, she wasn't brave, nor was she sly, and she definitely wasn't the smartest.
Winnie looked at the Hufflepuff table and there wasn't a seat to be found that wasn't already occupied. What good that did her especially when she was hungry. Winnifred walked to the table and filled up a plate before taking a seat against the wall near the door. If she couldn't eat at the table, at least she'd get enjoyment of watching everyone else attempt to eat without bumping elbows with their neighbor. At least by the wall, it was quiet and you actually had arm room for once.
Things for the Hufflepuff weren't exactly great nor were they bad. Winnie didn't mind being on her own, it meant she didn't have to worry about remembering plans or have to deal with the drama that was going on with the rest of the students. If she got lonely, she'd just talk to a random kid in the common room but they were never her friend.
Giggling.
Chatting.
Yelling.
Arguing.
All of these things were going on right in front of her with the students that filled the tables. Girls sharing infatuated giggling as boys walked passed. Guys chatting about their newest crush. Fighting friends yelling at eachother about a stupid purse lost earlier that day and of course, the yelling going on between the Gryffies and Snakes. Sometimes it was just that much easier to sit by and watch it instead of being a part of it, but sometimes Winnie wondered what it was like to be part of that group of giggling girls, the girl the guys were crushing on, the friend who lost the purse or even the victim of a slytherin.
Eh, what the heck. The girl was lonely.
