"Welcome to Hogwarts Brandon, the newest Ravenclaw student" bellowed the Sorting hat in the headmasters office. Smiling, Brandon gave a small bow, unsure of how royal this tatty looking piece of cloth was to the school, and history come to think of it. I mean, he did control the outcome on the rest of the students lives by what house he put them in, that was for sure, and his voice was rather regal sounding, so who was to blame Brandon for playing it safe and bowing?
As he left the room, his new robes now turned from plain black to being attached to Ravenclaw with sapphire lining and a Ravenclaw patch magically appearing on the chest of it, he smiled, unsure of what was to happen now. His sister Lexie would be around somewhere, and she would be glad to see he had made Ravenclaw just like her. It was strange to see that your kid sister was accepting you into the school, it was like a role reversal. He should of been the one welcoming her, but after five years at Durmstrang, Brandon thought it best for a change of scenery.
Closing the headmaster's door behind him, he made his way back to where he came, the main entrance. He was shown the Great Hall in which main events happened, food times, balls, special occasions, blah blah blah. Remembering the list that the headmaster reeled off soon became a blur and he only remembered the odd event that happened in there. He was sure he would find out everything that would happen in there soon enough.
Seeing the Great Hall doors open and close with the outcome of many students galvanting in and out the doors at various speeds, he observed for a moment watching a few fellow Ravenclaws grasping books, he looked down to see his arms were empty. "So this is what Ravenclaws are then? Bookworms? Well, i'd never of put myself in that category" he shrugged.
Pushing open the door lightly, he peered into the hall and scanned the room, observing the layout of the place. It was very different to Durmstrang, that was for sure, and less dingy. Taking a few shy steps into the room that was now bursting with light, he saw different coloured robes seated about. Spotting where most of the blue section was, he slid over to it and sat right on the edge, unsure of why he had even come in here.
Sighing as he sat down, he craned his neck down the long table and saw the Ravenclaws laughing and giggling, and studying. Looking back, a plate appeared in front of him and a set of knives and forks set themselves next to the white china. Taking it as a sign to eat, he looked up at the time to see it was 12:37. At that moment, he didn't realise how hungry he was. Reaching over for a plate of potatoes, he looked up to be greeted with a face at the other side of the table.

“Hey! No! Give it back!”
Felicity snatched her letter from one of her room mate’s hands and let out a frustrated sigh. “Don’t you have some poor boy to torture or something?” Her room mate gave her a quizzical look, like she didn’t completely understand what Fay was implying. Which, of course, she didn’t. I’m surrounded by bloody idiots. She rubbed her eyes, trying not to punch the girl. ”Dinner’s going to start soon, don’t you have to meet that one kid?” Her room mate flushed and scurried off down stairs.
It was rather annoying being surrounded by gossiping, giggly girls. Her eye twitched just thinking about it. Fay quickly glanced down at her torn letter and shook her head. Valentine’s day had long passed, yet some creep was still shoving notes into her books. She crumpled up the note and lodged it into a nearby garbage can. Bray said to just ignore it, but that was kind of hard when notes were appearing every other day. Some people had sick minds. She felt like she was being stalked.
Fay quickly assessed herself in the mirror. Her hair was slightly curled from the humidity, but still managed to look nice. The weather was warmer, so she decided to dress today in a black skirt that went just past her finger tips, and a long-sleeved shirt. For once, the shirt wasn’t blue, but striped white and silver. Oh well, wasn’t like anyone was going to see it anyway. Felicity shrugged on her robe and hurried out the door. Everything was just so routine, she barely paid attention to where she was walking because of it.
Today had started out as a weird day. First the note came. It happened when Felicity was sitting outside talking to Bray, and she walked away from her books for a moment to point something out to her kitty friend. When she returned, there it was. Then after that, Bray moved off to go spend some time with Ellie, so Fay was left alone to her thoughts. She had wandered around outside for a while, and struck up a conversation with some of her Claw mates.
Now here she was, hurrying down the halls to the Great Hall. When she entered, she noticed Bray surrounded by some other Claws, and he had an apologetic look on his face. Fay rolled her eyes at him and stuck her tongue out. It was her way of saying ‘whatever’. Felicity decided to sit by the students she had been talking to earlier, at the end of the Claw table. Once sitting, she straddled the bench so she could talk with the girl next to her. But, they didn’t get a chance to speak before the food appeared.
Felicity swung her leg around and picked out several items from the table. She made a face at the meet and shoved it away from her, and across the table. As she reached across for an orange, she felt someone’s eyes on her. Her head tilted up slightly, and she noticed the boy on the other side of the table just…looking at her. A flawless smile stretched across her face and she laughed lightly.
“It’s rude to stare you know.”
Fay plucked an orange from the other side and settled back in her seat, waiting for the boy to respond.

Seeing the girl on the opposite side, he paused for a moment, unaware that he was staring. She was the first person to actually look at him never mind speak to him since he arrived, other than the headmaster and the old sorting hat of course. For a moment it felt like all his social interation skills had vanished into thin air.
Startled for a moment, he shook and broke off his glance to the female Ravenclaw. Picking up a banana and two oranges before everything went, he dropped them onto the plate, and looking down, realised they had made a rather rude picture. Giving a nervous giggle, not that the girl could see the plate, he moved the banana to the side of both oranges to rearrange the rather revealing fruit picture he had just made, by accident of course.
Looking back up to the girl he gave a small cough, feeling a small dry lump form in his throat. He had never experienced the 'new guy' feeling before, and now he could tell how all the others in Durmstrang felt when they transferred. It was a horrible, unknowing feeling making you feel entirely at mercy of the others surrounding you. Yuk.
"I'm sorry, I- erm. Well, I'm new here. Transferred from Durmstrang today, i'm not quite sure what I'm doing really" he gave a small smirk and a noise suggesting he was quite surprised with himself. Picking up an orange, he began to peel it as his eyes drifted down to look back at the fruit now in his hands. 'Great, Brad, well done. Come on! This isn't you? Your confident, ignore the 'newness' she seems friendly enough and she's in your house, whatever houses means' he thought to himself giving a shrug. Realising he probably looked extremely weird shrugging to himself he looked back up and gave an apologetic smile.
Giving a quick glance to the doors, a gaggle of laughing girls walked past, and Brandon overheard them talking about a cute guy in Gryffindor, tall and blonde. Brandon hung out his lip, utterly mind boggled at what girls talk about and find funny.
Twisting back, he gave a smile to the girl. "I'm Brandon Rosenberg"

(( SJ you perv xDD ))
The boy seemed startled, and he quickly moved and began to pick up random foods. She leaned back at her seat, small smile still on her features. She guessed he was new by the way he glanced around the place. And he seemed slightly confused when it came to the food. And, as she noticed, he hadn’t taken one piece of meat. Strange, maybe he was a vegetarian? Ha, eat that Bray, Fay’s not the only one!
Felicity began to peel her orange, just waiting for the startled boy to respond. He stumbled through his apology, which only caused her to chuckle again. New kids were always so funny. They worried over the most trifle things. How do I get to my class? What if I’m late! Oh my Merlin I forgot my essay! It wasn’t like the teachers would kill the kids on their first week there. Well…Vance might, but he was usually an exception to a lot of the unwritten rules of students.
”That’s a poor excuse to be caught staring.” Fay smirked back up at the boy, showing him that she was joking. ”Most guys I know would try to toss in a pick-up line in there to seem smooth.” Her eyes shifted to the Gryffindor table, where the popular trio was speaking with several girls. She laughed softly and turned back to the new boy.
”Nice to meet you Brandon. I’m Felicity Locke. And, as I hope you already guessed, I’m a Ravenclaw.”
If he didn’t already guess it, then he was definitely in the wrong house. It was always amusing to see the first years try to get into the common room. The painting would give some sort of riddle, and they would trip and stumble through it until an older member came by and answered it. Fay didn’t experience that, but that was only because she had Bray with her for her first year. He knew everything there was to know about the school, thankfully.
Fay noticed him staring at some girls as they walked back, and she had to keep herself from making a face. Was he another one of those boys? The womanizers, as she liked to called them. If so, the kid would end up with that banana up his nose. ”Do you know who your rooming with yet?”

((LOL, I'm not a perve, I just thought it was rather amusing! You brought up the fruit first!! Your to blame, lol!))
It seemed new people must of stuck out like sore thumbs here at Hogwarts. Not that sore thumbs stick out or anything. Like fresh meat perhaps, or at least that's how he felt right now. A new target, prey, and all that malarky. However, the girl was seemingly not going to eat him alive, although had a sharp wit about her. It seemed she was not one to take fools lightly. The kind of girl that should be around instead of the bimbo types. Still, for all he knew, she could start talking about waxes and facials any moment now, he just hoped she wouldn't so he wouldn't have to excuse himself.
"Well, all the guys must be jocks or jerks. The thought never even occured to me" he smirked. It was said in the sort of way whether you couldn't tell if he was joking or not. Not that he would blame the other guys for trying, because it's not like she looked like the back end of a blast-ended skrewt or had a troll face or anything, she was pretty, and she obviously knew that she was or she wouldn't of mentioned about the chat-up lines. Thoughts of facials and waxes still drowned his mind. How he hoped they didn't come up in conversation.
"Well Felicity, thanks for making me feel less awkward in this rather, well, awkward school" he said with an accompanied friendly smile. It was less of a weight on his shoulders now that he had actually conversed with a fellow student. It seemed all of his status and reputation he had built up in Durmstrang was all dismantled, and he would have to start reconstructing it. Not that reputation was the biggest deal to Brandon, but it was nice to know people didn't hate you.
"Rooming with?" he laughed, quite shocked. "You know, I have no idea" He gave a small laugh for a moment before pausing and letting out a deep breath. "Come to think of it, I don't even know where the Ravenclaw common room is" he said, a look of shock played upon his features and his eyebrows raised.

(( Fay's a vegetarian, she eats fruit xD ))
"Not all. Most of my friends are guys. They can be okay at times, just have to make sure I keep them in check."
Felicity laughed again, softly though so she wouldn't attract unneeded attention. She popped an orange slice into her mouth. Juicy as always. The school's food was always delicious, and that was never really surprising. But, surprise or not, it was always welcome to have some good tasting food. When she went home for the summer, her mother would sometimes try to cook, but often times she would only succeed in burning it. How anyone could mess up boiling water was beyond her, but somehow her mother managed it.
"You're welcome? This school isn't all that bad you know. Just get to know the right people, and you're set for the next few years."
It seemed any school a student would go to, their social status was on the line. Fay had this talk with Harrison a while back, about the social hierarchy of the school. She had probably wounded the poor man's ego when she said that she didn't care about her own social status, or anyone else's for that matter. As long as she could talk to the people she wanted, she was alright. Plus, remaining 'lower in the chain' usually kept her out of the drama of school. She had her own friends' drama to deal with.
"I was just wondering because I know most of the Ravenclaw guys. I can tell you who to watch out for." Fay winked and grinned. But of course, she was only joking. There were only a few people that you didn't want to be on the wrong side of, but as long as someone left them alone, they were usually okay. [/blockquote]

"In check? They can't be that bad surely?" he laughed. She certainly painted a picture of the guys quite colourfully. He doubted they would be something he couldn't handle, after all, the biggest jerks in the world all seemed to congregate to Durmstrang. Finishing peeling the orange, he placed it back down again onto the plate and reached for a glass of water. Sipping on it gently for a moment to ease the lump in his throat that was now getting smaller, he placed it down to see the plate had rearranged itself into the rather suggestive picture once again. Grabbing the peeled orange, he placed it next to the other one to jumble up the picture before looking around scanning the room to see if anyone was playing a prank on him.
Content that nobody was pranking him, he looked back to Felicity and began to separate the orange into segments to make sure the picture would not reappear. "So who are the right people? I tend to give everybody a chance, but it's not always to my advantage" he replied truthfully. In fact, him being so nice and trusting was probably his worst personality traits. Although once someone had begun to tred on him or take advantage he soon put a stopped to it. He was one to give people a chance, but not to be a doormat.
"Bad people in Ravenclaw? Impossible" he said, finishing the last word with a mocking posh English accent, accompanied with a pouty bottom lip, and pretending to wear a monocle. Giving a slight laugh afterwards, he placed an orange segment into his mouth and chewed before giving Felicity a cheesy grin. "So, what is there to do for fun around here?"

"No, no, they're not bad at all. I can vouch for every one of my friends, but I might just be biased."
In truth, Felicity knew that her friends were perfect. Bray would always be number one on her list, because the two had been friends for so long it was hard to imagine one without the other. And then, in no particular order, there was Ellie, Maxi, Dar, even Toby and Harri. There were probably a few others that she was forgetting, but they couldn't have been as well known as the others. Ash used to be on that list, but that was another story for another day.
Fay shrugged in response to his question. "It depends on what kind of people you like. Just find some people who will stick with you. And try to avoid drama, trust me." Unfortunately for her, she had experienced enough drama to last her a lifetime. And next to that was the fact that she had probably been hurt more than the average person should be throughout her terms in Hogwarts. Attacked by Devil's Snare, then burned by Ash, head injury from Maxi and Jase, bruise on her neck from that freaky vampire kid, oh, and Ash's freaky stalker boy had nearly broken her arm.
The veela laughed at his act, letting out a small snort. "Strange I know, but it happens." She popped another orange slice into her mouth. "Hogsmeade is always fun. I say go to Honeydukes, but that's only because I like to rake in customers. Mum always loves meeting new people anyhow." Fay tapped her chin and pursed her lips after. "I guess it depends on what you like for fun. There's always the forest, Quidditch is fun too. Otherwise...I guess we just hang out with our friends." She shrugged lightly. [/blockquote]

“Well at least you have friends, and from what you say you sound very passionate about them” he smiled. Sure enough he had friends, but right now they were all in another country. Sure he had his kid sister who was a year younger than him, but there was always a fine line between being friends and siblings, and siblings always was the more dominant status. Besides, between them, they have varied hobbies and things they liked to do. His sister Lexie was a goody goody in appearance, especially to the parents, but always like to go off and live life on the edge. The amount of times she had come back from some random adventure in the Forbidden forest which she always told Brandon about, and making herself as bait for the whomping willow. Come to think of it, maybe Felicity knew Lexie, or at least heard of her. Lexie was daddy’s little angel, and she liked it that way. She liked the two lives she lead, the traditional good girl routine she lay in front of her parents and elders, but when she was with friends or out of the eye-line of adults, she was mischievous and ruthless. Unlike Brandon, he was always himself infront of everyone, and if somebody didn't like it then that was something they should deal with. However, none of the kids were a favourite, they were all treated equally.
“Avoid the drama? But what if you get sucked in by it?!” he exclaimed before making a rather large sucking noise accompanied by a small pop to reveal that whatever it was he was sucking had been gobbled up. Giving a cheeky grin, he ruffled the back of his head before giving a quick glance to his plate again. Felicity probably thought he was hungry and she was keeping him from eating, when infact he was just hoping the plate hadn’t rearranged into a filthy picture again. Flicking his eyes back over to her, he gave a small smile to show he was content.
“Drama has a funny way of clinging onto certain people doesn’t it?” he asked, eyes shifting around the table as if to find a culprit of such dramatic behaviour. Seeing out the corner of his eye a piece of toast come flying past his ear, he twisted round quickly to see the culprit was a slytherin boy about the same age as himself. Standing up in defence, he almost fell back due to the bench digging into the back of his legs.
“I see we have another newbie lads, welcome to Hogwarts half-blood” the blonde smirked evilly as he was about to sit down again. Within a flash, Brandon had grabbed the peeled orange and threw it across the room, heads ducking as they watched him, at the boy that hit him square in the chest as he sat down. The boy tutted and muttered something, but Brandon just smiled. “And I see we have a stupid bully, say hello to Brandon!” he said cheekily in a high pitched voice, mocking him and giving him a childish wave before giving a small laugh and sitting back down to facing Felicity. “See what I mean about drama?” he joked as he rolled his eyes at the little piece that he has seemingly just brought on himself. Well lucky for Brandon it seemed the girl wasn't scared off by his comical advances and his awkward silliness. Smiling as she gave a small laugh and snort, he was glad he'd broken the ice by making her laugh. That was a start at least of creating new ground for friendship to lay it's foundations over anyway.
“So your mum works in Honeydukes? That’s the sweet shop right, at least I think I remember seeing it as I came up here earlier. It looks pretty good! You’ll have to show me round, then I can blame you for all the sweet and chocolates i’ll get and say half of them are for you” he laughed.

"I'm lucky to have them. Maybe I can introduce you sometime."
Wasn't it funny how most of Fay's friends were men? Sure there was Ellie, and even Laney, but most of her little group was guys. Ironic, because she was a veela, so shouldn't she hang out with more girls? Then again, Felicity wasn't very girly...so that probably wouldn't be in her best interest. Oh well, at least her current friends could put up with her spouts of randomness and sarcasm.
"Well, then you just have to deal with what life throws at you. It tends to happen a lot in this school." Felicity made a face and glanced down the table, over to where Bray was sitting. The loud pop brought her back to reality, and she glanced over to Brandon. Fay blinked at him for a moment, then let out a laugh.
"You have no-"
Felicity was cut off by the flying toast. She looked over to where it was thrown, and found a Slytherin standing up. Half-blood. Oh no he didn't. Fay watched as Brandon through the fruit at the boy, and snickered. She pulled her wand out of her pocket and flicked it underneath the table. The boy's pumpkin juice lifted, then dumped itself all over him. He spluttered and gasped, before looking back over to them. Fay smiled sweetly and wiggled her fingers at the boy.
"It's that damn veela again." His friend muttered. The boy didn't respond, just turned back around and looked back at his food.
"Yea, my mum owns it. We sell an 'assortment of candy'. Which roughly translates to, we have every candy imaginable." Felicity chuckled and rolled her eyes. "Oh no, don't dump all that on me. I already eat enough candy. I should be obese by now." Fay rubbed her stomach and laughed again.
(sorry for the crap post >< )

(( It’s not crap! Your getting as bad as me saying we suck lol. <3 ))
Brandon gave Felicity a grateful smile. It was not often people were nice enough to offer to introduce you to other people, and she was offering him a helping hand onto the friend ladder by introducing him to her friends. What a nice lass. “Well that’s very kind of you Felicity, thanks. I’m feeling like a big loser right now, all friendless and all” he joked but with a serious tone before telling a small tug lift his mouth into a smile. It was alien for Brandon to not have anybody to hang out with, and he wondered why he didn’t realise he’d be friendless when he transferred. So much for being a Ravenclaw and missing the obvious! Friends were an important part of Brandon’s life, and he knew the many years you spend with various friends, you’d experience many different things, some great, some good, and some bad, but never would you experience them if you were alone, would you?
As Brandon threw the orange at the Slytherin, he heard the snicker come from Felicity. Turning in time to see her cast a spell on pumpkin juice to pour over the bully, he laughed and pointed at him. “You see mate, it looks like even though i’m the newbie, nobody likes you but yourself, doesn’t that tell you something?” Laughing hard as he turned back round to Felicity, it was hard for him to stop. “Nice shot, I’m impressed!” he said between random giggles. Realising the boy had let slip that Felicity was a Veela, he paused for a moment and pointed, shocked at her. “Damn, you’re a Veela? Now I see the missing link!” he said in surprise. “Not that your ugly or anything, I erm....well, I’ll shut up now before you do what you did to that guy to me!” he said, getting ready to dodge any oncoming flying fruit in his direction.
“Well, If my mum owned a sweet shop, i’d probably be as big as a house, still it must have it’s good sides, free candy and all that?” he enquired. “Obese isn’t even half as near as what I would be!” he joked. He imagined himself sat in the middle of the shop floor, grabbing at whatever was nearest for him and stuffing it into his face, wrappers and all. The thought made him shudder as he saw himself expanding bigger and bigger until his shirt didn't stretch over his belly anymore. "On second thoughts, i'll stick to fruit"

((oh, but it is. And here's more crap!))
”I wouldn’t go so far as to say loser, but you’re mighty close.” Felicity winked and laughed, showing him she was joking. ”You can call me Fay by the way. Felicity sounds too formal.” She grinned and munched on another slice. At this rate she was barely going to eat anything before dinner was over. Oh well, she could just eat some candy or something back upstairs. Or just send Bray down to the kitchen to snag her some food. That would work too.
Fay laughed again. The boy was dripping wet by now, and seemed to be steaming. She shot a grin over to Brandon as she turned back around to look at her. And, as he did, Fay just caught what the Slytherin boy had said. She froze for a moment, and stole a glance over to Brandon. Everyone else she knew was fine with it, so that’s why she didn’t worry immediately. But then, she remembered that Brandon hadn’t already known. Fay blinked at him as he pointed to her, and waited for accusations to fly. But…they didn’t. ”Guilty as charged. I’m only half though.” She smirked again. ”And don’t worry, I won’t charm you. You’re not my type anyway.” Felicity laughed lightly and left it at that.
”Free candy indeed. I can sneak you some if you like. Though it wouldn’t really be sneaking, because we’re in the same house and all.” She chuckled at his realization and twirled an orange in her hand. “Fruit’s good too. Nice and sweet. Well, most fruits are.” Because, technically, a tomato was a fruit, but that wasn’t sweet at all.
”What was Durmstrang like? My dad used to go there, but he never really got the chance to tell me about it.” She glanced down at her plate for a moment, and pretended to rearrange the food on it. [/blockquote]

“Thanks for the vote of confidence Fay” he laughed, glad that she was bantering with him. Many people didn’t have the whole ‘banter’ gene in themselves, which proved to be very boring, friendship wise. It was always good to have playful banter with people and see how their cogs ticked. Realising he was keeping her from eating, he took a break from chattering her ear off so she could eat something, and so could he. Eating the orange quickly, he realised how hungry he actually was. Finishing the banana, he kept the skin incase that stupid slytherin wanted to start another fight. Of course, Brandon liked to outwit his opponents, but sometimes outwitting just wasn’t enough, sometimes he just wanted to beat the living daylights out of them, and that he had done a few times in Durmstrang.
“I didn’t even know it was possible to be half-veela. Huh, that’s a little dumb of me isn’t it? Still, you learn something new everyday, so thanks for being a temporary encyclopaedia” he smiled, as he looked over to where she had just looked. Another Ravenclaw was looking at her and he gave a friendly smile which he was unsure if the guy caught or not, before looking behind him back at the Slytherin. Still holding the banana skin by the unpeeled end, so the skins were flapping around reminding him of half an octopus, he looked at the snake as he chatted with his friends and was gossiping about others as they walked past, in which he caught the glare of Brandon. As he was about to say something, Brandon had already charmed the banana to act like an octopus and it went zooming, tentacles first into the boys face, grasping hold of his head on either side and what could only be described as ‘wiping’ itself all over the slytherin’s face. Brandon laughed hard at his little prank, and knew they guy would probably get his minions to beat him up, but Brandon didn’t care, it was worth the laugh. He had too much of an imagination sometimes.
Turning back to Felicity, he grinned hard, unable to take the smile off his face. “Well that’s sure gonna get me hexed later on, but it’s worth the laugh” he continued to laugh. Even if nobody else found it funny, he found it hilarious.
“Maybe I shouldn’t sit with my back to him should I?” At the mention of free candy, Brandon’s eyes lit up. “Wow, you’re a legend, but not just yet. I bet you get people asking you for free stuff all the time right? I bet it gets annoying”. He looked over to her plate and realised she had no signs of meat on it, he grinned. “So you a fellow Veggie then?” He asked, looking over at the extremely large pig with an apple stuffed into its mouth with disgust. Sticking his tongue out quickly at it, he turned his head back to Fay. “Besides, my sister eats enough meat for the both of us. Do you know her, Lexie?”
