"Ah, insomnia. How I loathe you." Madeline Weston whispered to herself as she crept down the stairs to the Common room. Luckily for her, no one was down here tonight. Unluckily for her, that also meant that the fireplace was not lit. Thus leaving the room in total darkness and causing her to run into several objects(couches, chairs, paintings, side tables, walls) before she finally reached the door.
Around 20 minutes later she was creeping down the Dungeon stairs, shivering in her pajamas(a Cami and a pair of loose fitting pants covered in polka dots). All the while cursing herself for not bringing a sweater. Now in the darkness of the dungeons, which was only illuminated by creepy greenish lights, she began to relax. It was past midnight for cripes' sake, who would be out this late? Well-besides from herself of course, the answer would be no one. So really, she had no reason to be worried right? Right!
Even so, the silence was sort of creepy. And as she continued through the passage ways she kept imagining all sorts of beasts and monsters that could be lurking in the shadows. Madeline stopped abruptly, a chill that had nothing to do with the cold running up her spine. She could have sworn that she had just heard some-There! There it was again! Footsteps, coming toward her! Who was out this late? Madeline didn't know, and for once, she didn't really care to find out. Then again, she didn't want to move either, for fear of the thing hearing and giving chase. Taking a deep breath she turned to face the approaching footsteps.

Sarie rolled over in her bed. Sleep didn't want to come for some odd reason. She rolled out of bed. She slid on her fluffy gold slippers. Also grabbed her bathrobe. All of her dorm mates where asleep. Just the way she liked them.
She walked down the stairs. Into the common room. The fire was almost out making shadows of the chairs and couches. She stepped on what looked like a candy wrapper. The crunch made her jump. She opened the portrait hole. "Where are you going?" Asked the fat lady.
"Just for a walk I'll be back soon." She said. headed down the stairs. She was heading toward the dungeons though she didn't know why. She saw some one uphead.

The footsteps continued to get closer, and now she could see the shadowy figure of a person, though they weren't very large. Most likely a second year or younger, judging by the height. Realizing this, Madeline's fear began to ebb away, and ultimately dissapeared upon seeing the familiar features. She let out a sigh of relief. "Hey Sarie," She smiled. "What are you doing up so late?"

Sarie saw Madeline Weston her partner from potions. "My friend insomnia came over." She sighed. "I could ask you the same question askto you but i'll mostly i'll get the same answer." She smiled. "I don't come down here much how about you?"

"My friend insomnia came over." Sarie replied. I could ask you the same question, She continued. but I'll mostly I'll get the same answer." Madeline laughed. "Same here, I've told him a thousand times he's not welcome but he keeps coming back." She sighed wistfully. "What I wouldn't give to be able sleep the whole night."
"I don't come down here much, how about you?" Sarie questioned. Madeline shrugged, "Not too often, normally just for Potions and such. That's why I came down here, because it's the one area in the school I'm not familiar with. Plus," She added with a mischievious grin. "If I can learn to gt around here, I can plan a prank on the snakes one day."

Sarie listened to Madeline. "Same here, I've told him a thousand times he's not welcome but he keeps coming back." Sarie knew the feeling all too well. "What I wouldn't give to be able sleep the whole night." She also knew that pain of tossing and turning.
She was answering Sarie question. "Not too often, normally just for Potions and such. That's why I came down here, because it's the one area in the school I'm not familiar with. Plus," She knew the place a bit her exploration of the dungeons had been cut off by the old potions Professor. "If I can learn to get around here, I can plan a prank on the snakes one day." Sarie looked at her.
"Oh, let me in on that." She said.

"Oh, let me in on that." Sarie said, looking straight at her. Madeline grinned. "Glad for your enthusiasm. I'll do that." She said. "But first I have to find a person to prank. I mean, don't want to just do it to someone 'just because'. Not only would that be mean, it'd probably get us hexed into the next century." Madeline stopped speaking abruptly, amazed at how much she had just said. She was silent for a few minutes, then began walking as she said,
"Do you know anyone deserving of a good prank?"

"Do you know anyone deserving of a good prank?" She did Angelique Juliette she had hexed her last year and never really was nice to her either. "Angelique Juliette, she needs to have something sticky fall on her head." She smiled.

As she waited for Sarie to reply Maddie thought of all of the people she knew here at Hogwarts. There weren't many and so when Sarie spoke she had her full attention.
"Angelique Juliette, she needs to have something sticky fall on her head." Madeline nodded slowly. "By the tone of your voice I'm guessing she got you huh? How 'bout we do some tar and feathering? We could get syrup and feathers from the kitchen and ambush her when she least expects it!" She paused for a moment to consider this idea and nodded again. "Yeah, that's what we'll do. What year is she, anyways?"

"By the tone of your voice I'm guessing she got you huh? How 'bout we do some tar and feathering? We could get syrup and feathers from the kitchen and ambush her when she least expects it!" That sound really good to Sarie. Better than any thing she could do on her own."Yeah, that's what we'll do. What year is she, anyways?"
"She's a 7th year and she has a few classes with me. Yeah she did get me. Last year she hexed me from behind." She sighed remembering that day. Its wasn't very fun.

"She's a 7th year and she has a few classes with me." Sarie told Madeline. "Yeah she did get me. Last year she hexed me from behind." Madeline wore a look of disgust on her face. "She, a sixth year, attacked you when you were a first year? And she couldn't even face you head on?" Her stomach began to boil at the thought.
"That is pitiful." She spat. "We are going to get her back big time, Sarie. But we're going to need backup, and backup plans, because when she figures out who embarrassed her, she is not gonna be happy."

"I don't know who might want to help but I don't care if she finds out I've already been hexed once I think i can handle it."

"I don't know who might want to help but I don't care if she finds out I've already been hexed once I think i can handle it." "You're right." Madeline agreed, nixing her plan to recruit some others.
"We can handle anything she throws at us by ourselves. Plus, other people would probably just chicken out last minute or tell her ahead of time. When do you think we should do this? Obviously sometime before the end of the year but how soon?"

"Too bad we couldn't get a snake on our side then we could get her inside her own common room." She sat on the stone floor. "Thats not going to work. Oh Jac might want to get in on this."

Madeline's eyes lit up at the possibilities. "If only, if only." She said dreamily. Plopping down onto the floor as well. She drew her knees up to her chest and leant back against the wall. She closed her eyes for a moment imagining the havoc she and Sarie could cause with a Slytherin on their side. "Thats not going to work. Oh Jac might want to get in on this."
"Probably not but--Wait, who's Jac?"
