"That'll teach you, Claw lover." Rang the snotty, amused voices of the Slytherins as they scampered off, leaving Cairo Blackwell hanging with manacles on her wrists. They had left her chained to the dungeon wall, in a shadowy spot no doubt, where probably no one could see her if they were walking at a distance from where she was. "Ugh.." She grumbled, her back pressing against rough stone. It was enough she had to sleep in the same room as the snakes, let alone eat by them during meals, but now this? And of course she had to be wearing her house robes, so no one in any other house dared approach her in case they set free her wrath along with her hands. Despite her protests that she actually hung out with Claws instead of Snakes, they refused to help her. "This is just great." She groaned, twisting the chains around her arms to try and pull herself up to get a good look at the manacles.
Rusty and old, they scraped mercilessly against her skin, and she winced as she let the chains unwind before falling back to a slight hover once more. Cairo wasn't a very lucky person, even she knew it. It only proved that fact when a slimy sixth grader took notice of her, drawing closer with a hungry look in his eyes. "Oh god." The Slytherin arched an eyebrow, rolling her eyes as he came closer. "I swear, you touch me and I'll shove my foot down your throat." He only laughed, reaching out with pudgy fingers for her stomach. Heaving up, she lashed out with a foot, landing a good kick in his stomach. Crying out, the boy flung back some very crude profanities before cranking his arm back to slap her in the face.

Great. Just what I wanted. Like the idiot he was, he was still getting used to all the new surrounding and classes, and like the newbie he was, he had left his Ancient Runes book in the Potions classroom. However, he had only remembered once he had got to the great hall for dinner. He had Ancient Runes next and it being his first runes class, well, turning up late wouldn't be a great start now would it? It wouldn't be the greatest first impression he would ever have made, that's for sure. Sighing as he turned on the spot and jogged back to the dungeons, he stopped, realising he had followed the horde of students up the stairs, and now he had no idea which way was which to get back to the Potions classroom. Vance was like a vipertooth and Brandon was sure disturbing him again would not help matters, still he had to get the book or he'd be in even worse trouble.
Stopping at the foot of the stairs, he look left then right, then left again, undeciding on which way he came. Pointing right, he skidded around the corner before coming to yet another halt. The corridor forked off into two directions, and he could see from one of them, another path lead off from it. "Great, if the moving staircase wasn't bad enough!" he muttered to himself, as he walked down the left corridor and came to the other pathway. It was very dark down here, and with Vance down here, it was best to be able to see past your own nose. Pulling out his wand as he walked gently incase he bumped into anything, he cast 'Lumos' as he heard a slight mutter, to see a blonde girl tied up in the shackles, with her robes aura pulsing green. Slytherin.
Looking at her for a moment, he was undecided on what to do. Even though he was new, he had already had a few run in's with a few vicious slytherins. Still, Brandon was not the sort to just leave someone obviously abandoned. Waving his wand around her to see where exactly she was tied to, he placed the handle of his wand into his mouth for a moment while he figured out the shackles.
"Hi" he simply said, flashing her a goofy smile, well the best one he could do while a wand was inbetween his teeth. 'Hmm'ing to himself, he figured out the puzzle and cast the correct spell to unbind her. Marks were left on where she had been tied up and obviously tried to pull herself out, which didn't work.
"Are you... alright?" he asked concerned, however still a little weary of her Slytherin roots. The girl however looks a little in distress and so Brandon decided to ignore his concerns about her being in the house of green. "Of course your not. Who did this?" he asked.

Hearing footsteps the boy whirled around, bolting off down the hallway as another figure appeared. Not another Slytherin! Cairo groaned inwardly, until catching sight of his face, and the hesitation written plainly across it. A Ravenclaw, she had seen him around. The new guy. He appeared as if he was unsure of whether he should help or not, and she hoped to whoever was up there that he did. She had a feeling her wrists were bleeding, and her arms were getting stiff just hanging there. "Hi." She replied flatly, but there was relief in her eyes, and before she could ask if he was going to help her the Ravenclaw boy figured out the trick; though she hadn't realised it would happen so suddenly. "Woah!" She cried out, tumbling to the ground and knocking her head against the wall. "Ow.." The Slytherin mumbled, rubbing her pale hand against her light blonde hair and shakily standing, pressing her palm against the wall to steady herself. Are you alright? "I.." She began to say before he answered himself. Shaking her head to clear it, she looked up, large eyes on his. "Just a couple of snakes." Might as well tell the truth, they were long gone by now, giggling over what they had done.
Cairo could see he was a little wary about the whole issue of helping her, and she fixed him with a sarcastic smile, "You can relax now." She advised him, tapping him lightly on the cheek, "I don't fall in with their crowd." Well, to put it bluntly.. "Thanks." Glancing at her raw, bloody wrists, Cairo grimaced, wrapping her fingers around them as if to hide them. They were pretty gross, now that she thought about it.

Brandon jumped a little as the girl fell as he let her out, and banging her head, he winced with her, screwing up her face. "Urm, sorry. I forgot about the falling part. Is your head o- Blimey! We better get your wrists sorted out at the hospital wing. I'm afraid i'm no good at healing so I won't even try to stop it hurting for you. I'm sorry" he rambled. Stopping for a second, he looked down and gave a small laugh.
"Remind me, why am I in Ravenclaw?" he joked. Looking back at the girls big eyes, she looked nothing like a Slytherin should look. She looked like a porcelain doll, and her eyes were magnetic. He thought of Felicity who was half-veela, and thought maybe she was too. Still, it was rare, so how many could there be in one school?
"I'm Brandon" he said, holding his hand out and casting a spell so tissues appeared in his hand. Putting them around her wrists, he looked up at her and gave a smile, before returning to her wrists to bandage them up as best he could. "Snakes huh? Well, I hope it's not that one who bugged me earlier, or he'll be getting more than a banana octopus on his face" he grinned, letting go of her wrists and guiding her slightly into the next corridor to get a bit more light. His inhabitions of her being a typical slytherin were gone, and he ignored the robe colours she was wearing. If she was going to do something to him, she would of done it by now.
"Your welcome. Er, well, I'm new. Kinda lost. It's pretty easy to get lost here isn't it?" he joked, trying to make her ordeal a little lighter. He was a joker, but he knew when to be serious. The girl was probably mortified that her own house would do that to her, after all, Brandon would be. "They didn't take your wand or anything did they?"

"Urm, sorry. I forgot about the falling part. Is your head o- Blimey! We better get your wrists sorted out at the hospital wing. I'm afraid i'm no good at healing so I won't even try to stop it hurting for you. I'm sorry" Cairo bit her lip and smiled, arching her eyebrows a little as the words spilled from his mouth. She found it cute. "Heh, at least you won't have trouble making friends, I have people running from me and lighting my bedsheets on fire," She said with a laugh. "while I'm still in them." Her eyes flickered over his hand as he tried the best he could to bandage her wrists with tissues, no less, and she laughed, "Cairo. Cairo Blackwell." seeing as he was attempting to wrap tissue around her arms and not cloth, which seemed like it might work better than soft, thin paper. As for the snakes part, she shook her head with a small frown, "No, it was a bunch of girls. Or maybe there was a guy or two, I don't know, I didn't get a good look at them before I was thrown against the wall." And then chained. But she smiled tentatively, grateful for his trying to lighten the atmosphere of the situation. It didn't hurt that bad, really, just stinged a little when the raw skin was touched.
At first she was a little wary about him leading her somewhere else, but a better-lit place wasn't very far away, she noticed, and relaxed immediately. So he was new! "I noticed. How do you like it here so far?" Cairo smiled, looking at the poorly bandaged wrists and nearly laughing again. It was nice to do that once in a while, after experiancing something like that. At least they hadn't hit her or anything, but they did frighten her terribly. Even now she was a bit shaky, which wasn't a good thing compared to how fragile she already looked. "The Snakes seemed to know their way around as if they've lived here all their lives," She replied, talking about them as if she wasn't included, "I myself get lost at least once a week, so yes, its very easy." If you didn't know what signs to look for, that is. Which she didn't.
Scrunching up her face, wondering where that old thing was, her eyes brightened as she remembered. Tugging it out of the pocket in her sleeve - brilliant, she knew - she gestured down at it with a grin, "Present and accounted for."
