One minute Cairo Blackwell was walking to potions, and the next she was being dragged by her wrists into the kitchens. "What the mmphfgh?" She had started to exclaim irritably, before a cloth was shoved in her mouth and she was flung over the stoves. She didn't know exactly what they were doing except that she was being tied down on the ovens, her back to the burners which--fortunately--weren't on at the moment. "Where are your friends now, traitor?" Came the malicious cackle of a Slytherin boy in her ear, as she squeezed her eyes shut and angled her head away from him to stare at a giant block of cheese that had miraculously appeared at her right. Where the heck had that come from? Oh, right! Problem, here. The Snakes were flicking on the burners underneath her, and as they got hotter and hotter Cairo had to arch her back away from them in order to avoid getting burnt. The air from it was already scorching at her skin, and tears sprang to her eyes. Her scream was muffled by the cloth in her mouth, and she prayed to god her hair wasn't touching the burners.
"Laphme ouffa ear!" She tried to say as the corner of her shirt began to smoke and burn away, and she hoisted herself up further, wrists and feet still shackled to the kitchenette.. Thing. They merely laughed, beginning to throw blocks of cheese at her, successfully pelting her in the face and even managing to land some on the burners, where they promptly bubbled and melted, causing a terrible smell that stung her eyes and choked her throat. Craning her neck to see them, standing there, laughing at her, she narrowed her eyes angrily. When she got out, they were going to pay for this.
But her arms were starting to get tired, and, shaking, slowly began to drop her. The moment her skin touched the burner though she yelped loudly, shooting up again and arching herself. They couldn't possibly let her stay like this! Apparently, though, they were.

Bryn too, was supposed to be at potions, but the sleepless night he had had the night before just didnt make it possible for him to be able to be in the same room as moody Vance. Though, as it was clear he wasnt going anywhere, Brooke suggested if he was going to skip out on class, he might not want to do it in a place Professor Saunders might find him, besides if he did find him, Saunders would march Bryn right back down to potions. Though, after five minutes of nothing, boredom kicked in and he decided Potions was better than nothing, so, grabbing his backpack, his wand, and flinging his robe over his shoulder off he marched. Better Bryn marching himself then being dragged by someone else.
As he got closer, he realised he had a craving for cheese. It was strange and he could swear he could taste it. So ticking the pear on the portrait he decided to go in search of some. "Whats cooking?" He asked himself, scrunching up his nose as it wasnt the most pleasant of smells in the world. Smelled similiar to charred flesh and clothing. Absolute disgrace, whaever those house elves were cooking it certainly wasnt chicken. Eugh. He'd never look at chicken the same after that comparison.
Bryn soon realised it wasnt chicken, nor was it houselves. It was Slytherins cooking Cairo! "See how you like being set on fire!" He said rather agressivly, pointing his wand at the bad of Slytherins, "Incendio!" As the hems of their robes caught on fire, Bryn rushed over to the cooker and switched it off, untied Cairo and using the firemans lift, he lifted her off it, giving a cheeky smile he said, "We've got to stop meeting like this!" Though as the Slytherins turned back on Bryn, their wands raised to him, he raised his eyebrow in retaliation. But before they could do anything, Bryn was quick on his feet and used the knee reversal hex which made him laugh. "Now try walking, you'll find it difficult considering your knees are now on the back of your legs, not the front." Crossing his arms, "You should really be careful when you play with fire you know, you tend to get burnt." Turning to Cairo, he took a look at the wounds, they werent as bad as he thought they would be, "Episky" He muttered on them as the wounds healed. "Are you alright?" Funny how he seemed to ask that question whenever around Cairo. At least life wouldnt be dull, though, noticing the block of cheese Bryn became rather excited, "Ooh, Cheese!" He smiled happily and broke a bit off before popping it in his mouth. "Now thats satisying a craving!"

Their laughter was cut short by the angry sound of someone familiar, one that was majorly pissed off and was now lighting the group on fire. Well, that was one way to deal with someone you didn't like, right? But even as he untied her and lifted her up and off, Cairo refused to open her eyes, keeping them squeezed shut as tears of relief threatened to spill from them and drown her cheeks with water. "We've got to stop meeting like this!" She heard Bryn say, and she nodded her head slowly with a weak smile, "Thats twice you've come to my rescue-- I'm sensing a pattern here." Feeling the wounds on her back heal, finding it rather funny that the knight in shining armor/damsel in distress roles seemed to always work in their being around each other, Cairo finally found the nerve to open her eyes, and when she did they met his. Icy blue, meet large and gray. Two very intense, hypnotic eyes, locking with each other. Now that was enough to give you shivers.
After a moment of standing there dumbly, the Slytherin shook her head, then paused awkwardly and nodded it. "Uh, I think so?" Laughing, and twisting her arm around to rub her hand against her back, she then replied with the affirmative. "Yeah, nothing but burnt fiber again. If this keeps up I'll be out of an entire wardrobe." Damn them, destroying her clothes! This time though she had plenty of cover, as it was only bits of the hem that got singed and dropped off. Flicking her eyes over to where the Snake posse was cursing and stumbling out of the room, she brought her hand up to her mouth to hide a cheeky grin. "I owe you my thanks once again." Pausing as a thoughtful look overcame her face, she said with a smile, "You know what? I'm guessing this is going to happen more than often, and with you rushing in and saving me all the time you might as well just stick around me and cut the wait time in half. You never know, next time I could lose an appendage."
Watching with amusement in her eyes as he popped the cheese into his mouth, Cairo gently slapped his shoulder with a laugh. "Hey! They just pelted me with that cheese a moment ago, mister. Why on earth would you want to eat villainous dairy products? You could get some serious indigestion."

Between the Kennedys in Hogwarts, they were going to get a reputation of Slytherin beaters if they werent careful. Actually, that wouldnt be too bad a title to hold. Bryn and Brooke Kennedy, The Slytherin Beaters. No, that sounded as though they were on the Slytherin Quidditch team. Slytherin Taunters? No, they did more than taunt the Slytherins. Either way, soon enough word would get around the Slytherin common room about Brooke and Bryn and he would more than likely have some of the tougher cookies to deal with. Like a Mr Wyatt a Mr Daine or a Miss Grace. Even a Miss Croft. Though, Bryn and Brooke had some work to do if they wanted to catch the attention of those nutjobs. Well someone had to show them that Gryffindor were not just going to sit back and let them own the school again. Bryn would see to that. Like he cared if Erys or Ricky came down hard on him, he'd give as good as he gets. Of course, he would have to watch out for those claws of Erys', he would not want to be scarred because of a Slytherin. Not. In. This. Lifetime. Mate. "Well get used to it," Bryn smiled, "When theres danger afoot! Mr Bryn Aaron Kennedy, saviour of those in need will come to your rescue! No need to fear, Bryn is here!" He was trying to lighten the mood somewhat, and was doing idiotic superhero motions with his arms and legs, trying to ween some form of laugh from the girl who never seemed to have anything to laugh about.
Bryns and Cairos eyes met, Bryn knew he had bright eyes but he never really understood the intensity of looking into someones eyes when they were so bright. Now he understood, he now got why people liked to stare at his eyes so much. He realised he had been taking the colour for granted since he saw them in the mirror everyday. Blinking a couple of times, Bryn broke eye contact. It was unnerving, having such bright eyes, it was like they bore right through you, and that made Bryn feel extreamly naked. "Well then..." Bryn thought, "I have nothing I could suggest for that except you can always borrow my jacket and robe if this happens again." Though of course it would, the Slytherins seemed to not relent on torturing the poor girl. Bryn would have to kick some major arse, but would that make it worse? Looking at Cairo, his brow furrowed though his eyes quite sad, would she be better acting like a real Slytherin? Staying away from people like him and Brooke? She would certainly escape these firey starts. Talk about light your day up, this was ridiculous. "Nah!" Bryn said rather embarrassed, "Just did what any other decent person would have done." Tilting his head to the side he gave a laugh. Was this her way of saying she wanted to be friends? Heaven knew she needed one. Though befrending a Slytherin was against everything Bryn stood for, though casting that aside, she wasnt a typical, her circumstance would be special. Heck, why not! "Sure thing then, but are you sure you want to be stuck with me and Brooke?"
Chomping happily the cheese, he looked around, the House Elves now coming out their hidey holes, "Yeah! Fat lot of good you dopey lot were!" He scorned, "Ya shee a wooman in trubble an' yooh dunt try an' elp 'er!" Trying to scorn when eating was proving to be difficult, losing a lot of sounds, yet he kept on popping the cheese in his mouth, "Ya cudda elped ya 'no! Wuddnt ov killed ya!" Turning back to Cairo when she spoke, he choked on his cheese, spitting it into the bin and throwing the rest in after it. "They had their grubby little hands on it?" He questioned, "No wonder it tasted funny."

The flailing of his arms and legs superhero style brought laughter to her throat, and her shoulders shaked with the intensity of it, and her trying not to disrupt the entire surrounding area. She realised how long it had been before she remembered laughing. The feeling was stale on her lips, the sound parched from her throat. And the moment she felt like her ribs were going to burst from the effort--taking into account she was arching herself for a lengthy period of time--the Slytherin suddenly buckled, falling to the floor with the grace of a wilted flower. The exhaustion had hit her, and once it did she hadn't the energy to remain standing. Eyes fluttering closed, Cairo faded in and out of consciousness, forgetting where she was and why she was on the floor. "Wha.." She murmured hazily, large eyes flicking around the room, trying to discern what was happening.
"Oh.. So cluh, clumsy.." Cairo sighed, squeezing her eyes shut, shaking her head, trying to clear it. Opening her eyes suddenly she stared up at him with a dreamy smile. "Hey Betty, what are you doing here?" She giggled, very much appearing to be on drugs, when what really happened was she was driven to temporary madness by the exhaustion and the hitting of her head. Staring down at herself as her head swayed, she looked back up at him. "It appears I've fallen and I can't get up."

Once Cairo began laughing, Bryn couldnt help it and he began to laugh with her. Laughing was like medicine to him, he much preferred it to arguing, though of course a good argument was always fun every once in a while. Not as much as Brooke seemed to though, when she couldnt find a Slytherin to pick a fight with, she tended to find one with Bryn. Ah, brotherly, sisterly love. Couldnt beat it obviously. Though any sibling argued, it was kind of the way of life, like a real bad messed up rule or something. Lately Brooke had been fighting with him due to him being around Cairo, Brooke didnt yet like her. Even though she knew Cairo was decent, well that was Brooke he supposed.
When Cairo buckled, Bryn's reactions kicked in and before she hit the ground he caught her, but fell softly to his knees. His left arm around her back, propping her head up against his chest and acting as the support. While his right arm moved and picked her hand up, placing it on her stomach, then moved to remove some of the blonde hair from her fair features. Her eyes fluttered closed and Bryn couldnt help thinking how much she looked like a porcelin doll. Extreame beauty going on here, though he forgot about that as he needed to help her right now. His mind could return to girls later.
"Hey there," Bryn cooed as she opened her eyes, and then closed them again, Giving soft shh'ing noises, though his brow furrowed and if he hadnt been holding her he would have jumped backwards when her eyes snapped open. "Betty?" Bryn laughed, "Sure, alright... I'll go along with that, Bryn, Betty. Not much difference." He smiled down, though worry etched his own features as she began giggling, "Indeed you have," Bryn said worriedly, "Right, upye come!" He said, picking her up, throwing her arms around his neck and wrapped her legs around his waist, luckily she wasnt heavy, in fact quite the opposite. "We gotta get you comfy, so..." The logical place to take her would be the Hospital Wing. Turning to her he smiled, "Where do you want to go miss?"

If she had been a little more coherent and a little less out of her mind, Cairo might have wondered why she didn't feel herself hit the floor. It soon dawned on her that she wasn't on the ground, but in Betty's arms. Head lolling to the side and back to his chest, she peered at his arms. "Jesus, Betty.." She murmured against his shirt, her words barely muffled by the fabric. "You have man arms." Comforted by the sound of Betty's voice--which sounded very manly at the moment--she sighed softly, then giggled again. "You're wearing cologne." Or maybe he wasn't, she was just nuts, anything goes during the bonkers period. Did she have a sex change since she last saw her? Well, she was a he now. "Mm.."
And then she was being lifted up, being asked where she wanted to go. Leaning forward to peer at him, squinting, she cocked her head to the side. "Who are you again?" But then her expression brightened as if a switch had been flipped, and she coo'd, "Lets go to the owlery, I need to see if Bobby is done eating yet." Rolling her eyes, she waved a hand in the air. "He gets so dirty sometimes, I hate bathing him when hes covered in feathers." Pausing, she added, "Hes in Hufflepuff, did you know? Bobby.. Bobby.. Whats his last name?" Squinting at him, Cairo's face was then suspicious. "Who are you?"
Nestling her head against his neck, the Slytherin murmured quietly, the questions and the talking silenced for now.

Cairo seemed to be delirious, any other time, Bryn would have found something like this quite amusing, however he was just worried now. He was a smart enough lad, but in bad situations he usually wished Brooke was with him. Not that she would be much help right now anyway. Bryn smiled down at her when she said he had manly arms, "Well I would be worried if I didnt." Bryn half laughed as he tried to calm her down, or make her see straight, problem was he didnt know what he was supposed to do. He wasnt a doctor. "Well...Yeah" Bryn said bluntly, not really knowing what else to say, "You'll find I often do wear it." It was some muggle cologne, Jean Paul Gaultier apparently. Bought by Brooke as a christmas present.
"Bryn Kennedy," He told her with a smile, "You know me, we met in the Library when me and my sister helped you out, and then I helped you again in here. But dont worry about that right now, we need to get you fixed up." He began to make his way to the Hospital Wing when she said she wanted to go to the Owlery. Smiling down at her he said, "Alright, but we gots to make a quick stop first, okay?" His welsh accent softening as he pushed open the painting with his foot. Getting some curious looks off people as he was carrying Cairo in his arms, ignoring them, he continued walking. Everyone seemed to stop and stare at them, "Yeah, she got what she deserved!" Came a Slytherins voice, "You'll bleedin' well get what you deserve in a minute!" Bryn snapped back, hugging the girl protectivly closer to him, not that it was really possible. As he walked, she began talking about Bobby in the owlery, which highly confused Bryn as he assumed it to be an Owl. "No, I dont think I do. But if I see him I'll be sure to let him know you're looking for him."
"Im a friend." He smiled, letting her know she had at least one person.

"Im a friend." At this Cairo screwed her face up, confused. "Well of course you're my friend, Bryn." She protested, memory cleared if not for a few moments of peace. Quick stop, quick stop. "Stop somewhere.. Okay. If its the hospital wing, you assure I'm quite I fine." She murmured. "..Wait, that didn't come out right." Hearing the sneer in the other Slytherin's voice as they remarked about her getting what she deserved, she frowned, large eyes glossing over. Burying her face against his chest, not in the right emotional state to receive this kind of criticism and maliciousness, Cairo sighed, shaking her head. "I can walk, if you find me too heavy." She laughed, her voice sounding small and frail, completely the opposite of how she wanted to come across.
Rubbing her forehead with a dainty hand, the Slytherin pried open her eyes to stare out at the shocked faces of her classmates. She wasn't completely unknown now, they knew her to be a Snake. But they didn't know her, and it was a blow to her gut when they prejudised her as such. Cairo's appearance didn't even come close to the cold, unforgiving beauty of the rest of them in the green house. Hell, she should be in Hufflepuff or Ravenclaw, anything besides where she was now.
"Ugh, I feel like I'm hung over and got eaten by a bear." Cairo grinned weakly. "Sorry about this." You know, the damsel in distress thing. It wasn't an act, she would have acted much more stubborn about his lifting her up had she the ability to stand straight and balanced on her feet.
