The Character
Name: Make sure the name matches the name in your profile.
Nicknames: (If any) Make sure they make sense, or give some explanation.
Age: Must match the year.
Year: 1-7th.
Blood: Pureblood, Halfblood, or Muggleborn. Here’s the deal, we are limiting the acceptance of Purebloods. Not everyone in the Wizarding World is a Pureblood. Actually, very few are. Purebloods are left to very old families that are intermarried and related to everyone. We have a few old Pureblood families here at Ridd. PM an Admin or Moderator and ask about them.
Halfbloods are withes and wizards that have some sort of muggleblood mixed into their wizarding blood. It does not always mean that one parent is magic and one is muggle. On the contrary it could mean that 300 years ago, Sally’s great great great Grandmother married a muggle. The muggle blood would be past down through the generations to Sally, even if another muggle does not show up in the families history again. 80% of the population is made up of halfbloods.
The final type of wizard is muggleborns. These actually out trump Purebloods in number. These are witches and wizards who have no previous family history of magic; they are just special. These kids grew up in a normal muggle home with normal muggle parents and went to normal muggle schools before getting their Hogwarts letter.
Wand: length, core, wood type, etc. Wands are made of wood and a magic substance core. Through the wizard, the magical properties of the core come together and voila magic. And no, Ear wax is not magical.
Pets: Either an owl, cat, rat or toad unless approved by an Admin.
Patronus: A silvery figure that emits from a wand while performing the Patrous charms. This says a lot about your character, it is basically what animal embodies your character. For example, remember Harry Potter’s patronus was a stag, like his father, someone that meant very much to him. Think about it.
Boggart: This is not just something your character is afraid. It is your characters worst nightmare.
Personality: Who is your character? Character traits, likes, dislikes, habits, etc. At least two or three very well rounded paragraphs. P.S. a paragraph is at least 3-5 sentences.
Appearance: Again, no less than 2 well rounded paragraphs. You may include a picture, but a description must also be included. The description should describe what you see, not what you think about what you see. If you think his blues eyes are gorgeous does not mean everyone like blue eyes. Don’t add your opinions, but be subjective.
History: parents, siblings, back story, childhood, previous year at Hogwarts, etc. The History is a very important part of your character. It explains where your character came from and how they grew up. People’s roots add a lot to their personality, and explain a lot. At least three well rounded paragraphs, that must make sense.
RP Sample: Only if you are new to the site or applying for a cannon character. We do accept links to other rp sites so you can show your talents off that way as well!
Thank You very much to Lynn who updated the application! : )
