Ginny hadn't bothered much with classes lately they just didn't appeal to her much anymore but now test time was rolling around and she had to get cracking or risk failing. There was too much going on in the Gryffindor common room and she needed a quieter place to study so she wandered off to the library.
The place was packed, and Ginny marveled because she had been wondering why the corridors were so empty, now she knew why. Finding one of the few empty tables and sitting down she opened her Charms book trying to read the last few chapters the ones she hadn't bothered reading when they wee assigned.
She got through the first three pages of the book, they weren't that interesting just basic charms that Ginny could probably perform in her sleep. Her eyes became blurry and the last sentence she read seemed to be the only sentence she could continuously read. Already and after only a few moments Ginny was bored.
Glassy eyes she still kept trying to read trying to get to that next sentence though it wasn't happening.

Once again Girty was filling in for her brother and today’s duty had to be worse then study club and midnight patrols combined, she was on library duty. With exams getting closer and closer the more dedicated students were starting to show the signs of exam pressure and the library seemed permanently full of students trying to relearn three years of school work. Originally Girty thought that supervising the library simply meant sitting at the main desk, lounging back and feet up on the table telling people to stop running and keep it shush but it was a lot more then that.
Already today she had helped a fourth year Ravenclaw with a Potions assignment, a group of Hufflepuff’s with their Charms work and threw a bunch of Slytherin’s out of the library for putting enchantments on the books. (Miss Marsh had been wondering why students in the library kept getting covered in boils every time they read any books in the Herbology section) Girty had just finished removing the last of the curses from a book about the different uses of toadstools when she saw a red haired Gryffindor walk into the library and sit down and start to read a Charms textbook.
The Hufflepuff was unsure at first why this had caught her eye and assumed it must have been the red hair and so moved onto helping out a first year collect some books for her Transfiguration work however Girty’s eyes kept wondering over to the Gryffindor who seemed to be staring aimlessly at a page in the book.
“Methods of casting the perfect Engorgement Charm. I may not be an expert but isn’t that a bit basic for a seventh year?”
Girty was now standing behind the Gryffindor and reading over her shoulder as she scanned the pages of the textbook. She always hated it when people did that sort of thing to her so she had no idea why she was doing it herself but it was Charms after all and Girty was starting to see it as her subject.

Clouds filled the air as she wandered around aimlessly with him. Their hands locked like two teenagers without a care in the world. They giggled and talked about nothing important as they walked across the lawns, waving hello to the grounds keeper who seemed to keep a smile only for them. Birds flew around above them singing their sweets songs of love. Ginny had no idea how she had gotten so lucky but she was and she had no intention of allowing this to end.
Their favorite tree stood waiting for them to sit under. Ginny sat across from him so that she could stare him in the eyes, he had the most beautiful eyes she'd ever seen before. He looked up at her and she blushed unlike her for the most part but he managed it each and every time. Watching as she moved closer to her Ginny's stomach leaped in excitement. He was going to kiss her. They were inches from each other when suddenly...
“Methods of casting the perfect Engorgement Charm. I may not be an expert but isn’t that a bit basic for a seventh year?”
Ginny practically jumped up out of her chair. Her fantasy cruelly taken away from her. Turning her head this way and that trying to find the perpetrator she took in the sight of Girty Hubbles. Eyes flashing, Ginny had to try and control herself she counted to ten five different times in her head before opening her mouth to say anything. "Girty you scared me didn't see you there. How's it ah going lately?" this was said in the calmest voice Ginny could muster since she was annoyed and mortified all at the same time.

There seemed to be a slightly delayed response with Ginny almost as if she was having to wake up from her own little world before entering the other one, however as soon as the transaction period between worlds had passed the poor Gryffindor seemed to jump out of her skin. At this Girty found it hard not to chuckle softly, it was not that she liked seeing people being frightened at small things but it was just the way Ginny did it with the frantic looking around, it just made her think of a muggle cartoon character.
Soon there eyes met and Girty really did then get the feeling that she had woken Ginny up from a day dream, the silence between them seemed to grow and seeing as they were in a library that was some achievement. The Hufflepuff offered the Gryffindor a small smile and finally Ginny broke the silence and confirmed the obvious that she had been shocked.
“Yeah sorry about that…” Girty muttered nervously actually feeling slightly guilty for the interruption now, but the conversation was swiftly moved on and the Hufflepuff was grateful for that. “Yeah I am ok, stressed and overworked but then I guess everyone is this time of year.”
With a small smile Girty looked around and after noticing that no one looked like they needed help Girty thought she would take a break from teacher mode and pulled out the chair that was next to Ginny from under the desk and flopped down into it. Causally reaching out Girty flicked a few pages over in the textbook that was in front of Ginny to the section on Disillusionment charms and offered the Gryffindor a small wink.
“I would also read up on counter curses and their side affects, but you did not hear it from me.”

Delayed reaction, delayed reaction, delayed reaction her mind played those words over and over again as she felt a blush appear on her face. Perfect, flaming red face to go with her flaming red hair. It wasn't bad enough she had been caught day dreaming but now she was blushing about it. Ginny wasn't one to want to run away from things but this time the idea really appealed to her.
Girty was standing there looking at her which seemed to mortify Ginny even more so that her blush deepened. Instead of focusing on it she decided to continue talking hopefully Girty wouldn't bother to mention it. "Yeah I know I've seen you hard at work a lot lately. It's good to keep busy though keeps your mind off things gives you something to do other than getting into trouble around here which, seems to be what so many others prefer to do in their spare time."
Girty took a seat at Ginny's table for that the Older Gryffindor was grateful. It took her mind off of that daydream. The book she had sitting there moved and pages began to flip Girty's doing but Ginny didn't mind. Glancing down she found herself on the chapter about disillusionment charms. Ginny knew what they were but hadn't had any time to practice them.
"Counter curses huh? Well thanks for the heads up and no worries I can keep your secret, and if there are any more you'd like to share about this particular subject please feel free" she smiled.
