She had to go down this way. Lord knows she didn't want to especially after what happened the last time. Every noise seemed to make Kendal jump her head whipped around so many times she was beginning to get a crick in it. Her heart was pounding fast in her chest as she made her way across the dungeons. She recalled what had happened the last time she was there they way she was tortured by the inhabitants of the dungeons. The girl virtually avoided the place since but now she had no choice.
She almost reached her destination, hoped to reach it without a hitch but then she heard the unmistakable noise of someone walking down the hall. Kendal freaked, a squeak issued from her lips as she flung herself against the wall wishing that she could blend in with her surroundings. Listening she heard the footsteps getting closer but she couldn't move she was frozen to the spot. Again memories of last time came rushing back. She was trapped like a rat and hated it.

"God, I hate the dungeons." Ash muttered as he descended the stairs into the darkness. "Why on earth do we even use these damn dungeons anymore?" Finally, he entered the dark, dank corridors of the dungeons. "Might as well get this over with.." he muttered. Walking along, he struggled to see in the darkness, and ended up bumping right into someone, making himself jump in surprise.

The figure advanced and somehow ended up bumping into her. Kendal squeaked again scared of whom it might be, she so desperately didn't want to deal with another altercation. Then she heard a voice this one was male and this one she recognized from her classes. She breathed a sigh of relief as suddenly her heart slowed, her hands became less clammy and she was able to open her mouth once more to form actual words.
"Ashton you scared the bejesus out of me. I hate these dungeons with a passion. They're so creepy and too many Slytherins slithering around down here harassing students not in their stinking house."
She wasn't able to keep the anger out of her voice, thought it wasn't anger at him.

"Hnh, you're not the only one..." Ash muttered darkly, shifting restlessly, as he kept alert for Snakes. "Merlin, I hate being down here." He looked back at Kendall, "What exactly are you doing down here if you hate it so much?" he asked suspiciously.

If the situation hadn't been so comical Kendal would have given Ashton a stern look for that question about her reasons for being down there. He could rest assured she wouldn't be down there if she didn't have to be. Deciding not to argue or make reference to his suspicions she said "I forgot my book in potions class and I really need it to study for a test. So I thought I'd run down here and get it but I regret my decision now." Her eyes glanced back and forth across the corridor she was so hoping not to run into those two again. "Why are you down here?" She asked.

Ash shrugged, "Same. Don't know why I'm bothering though, seeing as I never attend class."
His eyes darted restlessly, "Comne on, let's just get our stuff and get out....I hate being down here."

Glory be, she wasn't the only one who was chicken when it came to being down there. So many others she knew acted like it was no big deal being down in the dungeons. Maybe if they'd gone through her ordeal they'd think differently. Choosing not to say anything about that she nodded to Ashton as he suggested she perform a mad dash into the room to get her things.
Glancing this way and that way she checked that the coast was clear. No one else was coming so it gave her time to run in and see the book sitting just where she had left it earlier. Smiling despite herself she marched to the desk she occupied that morning bent low picked up the book and dashed back out again. "OK mission accomplished, maybe we should get the heck outta here before one of these Slytherins catches us down here and tries to make us miserable." That idea pleased her.

Ash laughed without humor, "Best words I've heard all day." he muttered. He turned to go back up, then froze as he heard footsteps coming down. "Crap." ducking back into the shadows, he pulled Kendal along with him, "Come on, someone's coming!" he hissed

Ready and raring to go. Kendal started to head in the direction of the stairs when she heard something that made the blood drain from her face a second time. Someone else was coming, no this couldn't be happening she just wanted to leave the dungeons and it seemed that she was trapped instead. Ashton suggested the duck into the room. Kendal figured this was the smart thing to do only question plaguing her was if her feet would work to bring her in. Lifting one she found it felt like it weighed a ton but she lifted it still, then the other until she was tucked safely inside. Deja vu coming over her as she remembered hiding in a classroom last time she was down there.

Ash listened intently, the foosteps soon faded away, "Okay, I think they're gone." He whispered, stepping out of their hiding place. He turned back to Kendal, "Come on, let's get out of here." Ash knew of course, that unless they ran into a Snake, they really had nothing to fear, still, his heart raced, and his pulse pounded in his ears, his breaths seemed to come in quick, shallow gasps, and his hands were suddenly cold and clammy with sweat. This was not what he'd had in mind when he'd first thought of entering these god forsaken dungeons.
Wait a minute...why did he even bother coming down in the first place, it wasn't like he ever bothered to go to class. So why bother getting the damn book?
"Merlin, I have lost my mind." He muttered to himself, and he probably had. No, person in their right mind, would enter Slytherin Territory alone.
Not that he was nessecarily alone of course, but somehow he doubted that Kendal would be the one to leap to his defence should a Snake come along and decided that a little Bird would make a quick and easy snack, aka torturing prey! No offense to Kendal of course, she was a nice girl, but not exactly someone to count on when it came to escaping the clutches of blood-thirsty Slytherins. He shuddered at the thought, he was actually sick with dread. "Why I even bothered to come down here in the first place, is a mystery to me." he muttered.

Tonight of all nights, Polaris had to be sent down to the dungeons to get something from a friend. It had been a while that she had seen him, actually. Ah well, her business was done and she wanted to get the hell out of there. Spending quite a few minutes simple strolling the hallway, Polaris wasn't so discreet. There she was, out in the middle of the corridor without a care. She knew that the Slytherins hardly came out at this time and if they did, they were probaby late to some sort of secret cult meeting.
Hearing a few hushed whispered up in the corridor ahead, Polaris' ears perked up as she approached slowly and silently, keeping to the shadows of the hallway. Finally, she wound up behind two figures, the ones she guessed the hushed voices belonged to. Keeping the rising snicker in her throat, the Ravenclaw quickly jumped out from the shadows and placed a hand on each of the figures shoulders, shouting,"Got'cha!"

The sound of foot steps seemed to die away and it soon seemed like they would be able to leave finally. Ashton, was already way ahead of her and Kendal couldn't blame him. She hated the dungeons especially after last time. She held her own against the two but not for long. Being out numbered well it wasn't fun. Plus she wasn't sure what kind of guy Ashton was and whether he would stay and fight if need be. Kendal wasn't ready at all but she'd do what she had to do.
Touching her side pocket she felt her wand sticking out through the material of her jeans. At least she had that. Out in the hall again and Kendal was ready to run for it, but before she could even make a move someone's hand was on her shoulder and the word gotcha was being uttered. Kendal's eyes widened in shock and her hand instinctively moved to the pocket where her wand was being held. Turning prepared for some sort of attack she almost screamed as she saw the face of Polaris.
Shaking her head, face red Kendal couldn't help but start laughing. "You scared me half to death, that was so not funny especially down here." Hand clutching her chest willing her heart rate to slow back down she looked over o see if Ashton had gotten as scared as she had.
