Felicity paced silently back and forth, her hands held behind her back. This was getting out of hand, she couldn't look at Ash's antagonized face any longer. Fay's hands were balled into fists as she paced. She knew one side of the story, but that did no good. She needed to know both so she could help Ash.
Fay had sent a letter to Maxi to meet her here, and she hoped he would. She personally didn't know him that well, maybe met him once or twice when talking to Ash. Bray knew him too, so he couldn't be that bad right?
With an exsasperated sigh, Felicity flopped down on the ground and leaned against a tree. She rested her head against the tree so her face was tilted up toward the sky. Her eyes were shut though, trying to calm her nerves so she wouldn't snap at someone. That was the last thing she needed right now.

He wasnt quite sure of the point in sending letters to someone in the same school as you during term time. Thats why, as he read Fay's letter for the third time, he wondered what was so important she couldnt have asked him to meet her in person. Max didnt know Fay, she wasnt one he had the chance to socialise with really. Which is why this sudden meeting peaked his curiosity. Though he knew she was a friend of Ash's, so thats probably what this was about, she probably wanted to talk to him about it and Max wasnt sure if he was in the mood to talk about it with anyone.
Sighing as he made his way through the grounds. His feet were crunching on the grass, millions, okay maybe not millions, of students were piled on the lawns as he walked over to the gravel path. His hands in his jeans pockets. He had abandoned the school dress code now lessons were out for the day. A couple of students, first years he thought, walked past and with a slight giggle in their voices, they said hiya, usually Max would have replied but he didnt today. His mood had not improved much in the last couple of weeks, though he didnt want to come across to Fay as a complete moody git, so as he got down at the lake, he took a moment to compost himself.
After a minute, he looked around and saw a dark haired girl sat on the grass, leaning against a tree with her eyes were closed. Upon first glace she seemed to be tense, though Maxi had never really spoke to her he recognised her as Felicity Locke. Maybe she was as tense as he felt, he knew this would go either of two ways, it would start good and end bad, or start bad and end good. Well Maxi wasnt one to walk away so he made his way over to her and sat down in the grass infront of her. "You wanted to see me?" he asked, handing over the letter she had sent him earlier.

Felicity opened one eye as she heard someone nearing. She turned her head and saw Maxi coming near. Fay forgot how tall he was, compared to her five foot eight. Ug, she hated feeling small.
Fay noted the letter as he handed it to her. She grinned apologetically up at him. "Yea, sorry about the whole letter thing. Childish I know, but it was the only way I thought I could reach you. Bray's been no help lately." She added a sour tone as she said his name.
She stood up and stretched out her hand. "Felicity Locke. We've never properly met. I asked you to come because I want to know what's going on." Fay frowned slightly. "You know, with you and Ash. I didn't come here to yell at you, or to pick sides or anything. I just want to know what happened."
Felicity sat back down and leaned against the tree. Her gaze shifted to stare out at the lake, as the water created ripples from the breeze. "I don't like seeing my friends in pain Maxi." She looked to him for a moment, her dark blue eyes meeting his. "You don't have to tell me. You can walk away if you want, if it's too uncomfortable. I won't chase after you or anything. I just need to know how to help my friend." Her gaze softened for a moment and she looked back out to the lake. "Please."

He knew it, nobody ever wanted to just relax with him anymore, it was always 'whats going on with you and Ash,' 'Ash this, Ash that.' Why couldnt people just accept that he and Ash were over? Seriously did these people get involved in everyones relationship business? Taking a deep breath, trying not to let this get to him, he smiled at Fay.
"You know, you could have just come upto me and asked" He laughed. "Bray?" he asked, Maxi knew Bray and thought he was a decent guy, one who accepted Max for who he was, and didnt ask a hundred questions about him and Ash, and yet was still friends with the both of them.
"I know who you are" he smiled at her and took her hand, "Maxi Hennerdale but i doubt you needed me to introduce myself" He smiled again and let go of her hand, looking down at the grass, he wondered when the subject of Ash would pop up.
Maxi sat down too, keeping his eye on the grass blades, watching as they danced through the breeze. Maxi looked up and looked at her sighing, "I know" he could tell she was a good friend, "I cant see how speaking to me will help you help Ashton." Maxi looked at her, "He's the only one who can help himself Fay, you can be there for him but in the end its down to him."
"What would you say is more cruel?" He asked her, "Staying with somone you dont love anymore, or letting them go sooner rather than later, sure they'll still hurt, but it wouldnt be as bad would it?" He looked at her, "I broke up with Ashton plainly because i dont love him anymore and it wouldnt be fair on either of us if i'd carried it on"

Felicity's brow furrowed slightly. "Yes Bray. We're not on speaking terms at the moment, but that's another story." She didn't come here to rant out on Maxi, she usually just did that to herself.
Her hands clenched into fists on her lap as she continued to stare out at the lake. "I know I can't save everyone. I can't make him suddenly happy." She looked back at him, a sad smile on her lips. "But I can do the best I can, can't I? My friends are the closest things to me." Her gaze turned back out to the lake, so he wouldn't see her gaze harden at the thought of her reckless mother.
Felicity fell silent again as she listened to him. "Well then, I guess I have you to thank don't I?" She grinned slightly at him. "For not leading Ash on or anything. Better to have loved and lost than to have not loved at all right?"
Fay shifted forward, then rested her head on the ground, her hair sprayed out around her head. "Alright now Maxi, now that the gruesome details are over with, I wanna know more about you." She flicked her gaze over to him. "Our few meetings didn't really tell me a lot about you, but you seem nice." Felicity grinned again. "So, wanna spill the beans? So to speak."

Maxi saw her face change as she spoke about Bray and didnt question the matter further. It was Felicity's business, not Maxi's and his nose was way past going in other peoples problems. Afterall, he had plenty of his own.
Maxi felt a sudden pang of guilt as she looked at him with sad eyes, she knew the reason she was here was because Ash was upset, and the reason Ash was upset was because of Max. The breakup between Max and Ash had affected a lot more people than he had hoped. "No, you're right you cant save everyone" Maxi sighed and followed her gaze out onto the lake, "But..." he siad with a smile on his face, "You can be there for them until they want saving. Not much you can do till then"
"Thats what I thought" Maxi said as she looked at him, "But i dont think Ash can see that yet. I watch him when he doesnt think i am and that look on his face, the way he walks, the way he is with the people who care about him. He should realise that there's more to life than just... Me, so to speak" Maxi told her, "It wouldnt have been fair to either of us if i'd have led him on would it?"
Maxi looked at her, a little taken aback for he had not expected her to want to know anything about the guy who had broke her best friends heart, "Wont Ash be mad at you for trying to get to know me?" he asked. I bet Ash doesnt think im so nice right now he thought as his face screwed up trying to think of what to tell her. "There's not much to tell really" He laughed, "Basically im Max. Im a guy obviously though as my loving father so likes to say, not a very good one." Max laughed, "He doesnt mean it in a bad way, its a standing joke because im gay. Though i do swing both ways sometimes, but its got to take something extreamly special for me to be attracted to a girl. I have a kid sister called Rieko." He sighed, "Im really not very good at talking about myself"

"Leading him on would not be fair to either of you. I think Ash just....gets attached a lot of times. And when something ends it hurts him all over again." Felicity sighed and rubbed her temples. "But, he's Ash and I can't really complain. He's one of the only people that can actually sit and talk with me without getting bored really fast. Or freaked out." She grinned and laughed.
Fay stared up at the sky as she listened to Maxi. "I'd love to meet your dad sometime." She grinned at him then continued looking up at the sky. Ash's dad, on the other hand, was another story. The whole school was buzzing about how Felicity had popped the man in his jaw. She was surprised Maxi actually decided to meet her with all of the rumors flying about her.
"Well, I'm Fay Locke. My mom works at Honeydukes and my dad, well he died when I was about seven." Her gaze hardened just slightly, but she continued. "I have no siblings or anything. Well, I do have a pet cat, but she tends to go off random places at times. And...well...that's my life." Yea, give or take a few huge important details. Like the fact that she was part veela, her mom was a veela, and the fact that Fay frequently went out to the forest to practice her spells. Yea, normal life.

((Sorry i havnt replied, been busy playing with Rieko and Diego and i kinda forgot about Max))
"Finally, someone who actually understands" Maxi listened to Fay explain that Ash got attatched easily, of course he knew this all too well for he seemed to have got attatched to Max very quickly. Maxi smiled, "You cant be that bad, besides you dont seem in the least bit freaky" He shrugged, of course he didnt know her well so he still had a little time to prove his theory wrong, of course she seemed nice enough.
"Well my dad is a bit of a nut" he laughed, he meant nut as in a good way. At first he didnt accept his only son being gay, though after a while he came around to seeing it as funny and he became the butt of his jokes. Just like he was with his silly cousin Rieko. He often wondered how that girl didnt have more enemies than friends, she was amazingly blunt and didnt care who she hurt with her tongue. He silently hoped she would never run into Ashton because he knew she would tell him to stop being such a baby and grow up, though in less nice words.
"Thats a bit short to be a life story" Maxi laughed and looked at her, he could tell she was holding things back, but everyone did. He wasnt about to push either for details. "Well at least you'll get as many chocolate and tasty treats as you want, and your mothers close enough..." considering he didnt have a mother he thought it was nice for her, though as she probably thought it was nice for Max to have a dad. They were in the same boat, just with different members of the family.

((S'alright xD I kinda forgot about this thread for a while anyway))
"I love nutty people. Weird, funny, strange. All in my favorite list." Felicity grinned. That's probably why her friends varied so much. Fay didn't really like to judge people on their personalities. If they were weird, or didn't fit in or something, she welcomed them with open arms. The only people she didn't really like were the ones who were snobbish and rude. Those people she tended to snap on.
"But if I keep getting free candies and sweets, I'll get fat." She layed a hand on her stomach and sighed dramatically. "And then my mother would have to disown me because nobody would want to be with me anymore." The grin returned to her face once more. "But I have to admit I do have a weakness for chocolate. So if I'm ever mad, buy me chocolate and I'll love you for ever and ever." Fay laughed and flopped back down on the grass.

"Well i think ive had enough of nuts" He smiled, "I think right now im yearning for a normal life" Though Max knew this would never happen no matter how much he wanted it. He wasnt normal, name one thing about him that was? It just couldnt be done, yet he wished, he could wake up, in his bed at home, and none of this happened, he sometimes wished he never was a wizard, he never went to Durmstrang, never met Mark, never met Ash. He found himself wondering what his life would be like.
"A few extra pounds wouldnt hurt you" he smiled as he looked at her, what was with girls anyway, so concerned about their weight. If Max ever turned straight, he would like a girl with a few handles, something to cling onto. He laughed at this thought, he would never be straight. "Well doesnt your mother sound like a charmer?"

Felicity laughed and pushed some hair out of her eyes. "Yea, normal. Wouldn't that be fantastic? Normal family. And when you come home they have a batch of cookies or something waiting for you." She sighed, a small smile still in place.
"Charmer? Er, yea, you could call her that." Maxi obviously didn't realize how right on he was about her mother. As a veela, she was definitely a charmer. Well, so was Fay, technically, but she didn't use or flaunt it like her mother.
Felicity laughed again at Maxi's comment about a few extra pounds. "I couldn't if I wanted to actually. That's why I can eat so much chocolate and sweets and still look the same." She stuck out her tongue. "It's a gift."

"You dont know how good that sounds" Maxi said as he lay on his back in the grass, he hadnt relaxed like this for a long time and silently thanked Fay for not jibbering on about Ash for too long. "Cookies, or some tea or whatever waiting after a hards day of school" he looked at her and smiled, "Normal school, you know, where you learn Math and Science and English and the rest of that muggle lark? I'd give anything for it right now"
Maxi didnt say anything, her comment about her mother was clearly a personal matter and Maxi had enough on his mind right now and didnt think it wise prying into others problems anyway.
"Well arent you just one lucky female" he laughed, knowing Rieko would love that gift, she was always paranoid about her weight and thumped Max whenever he said he thought she was putting on weight, though he did that purposly to wind her up. "A good gift"

"Math, Science, English. All that nonsense. And worry about tests and essays, instead of spelling each other. And all of this ministry nonsense." Felicity sighed and rested her hand on her forehead. "Muggles have it made Maxi. I'd like to live in their shoes for a day."
Fay laughed. "Yea, lucky, sure. I get one good thing, then five other bad ones." She shut her eyes for a moment, letting the sun warm her. "Like the fact that I can't go a day without tripping on something or someone."
Felicity opened her eyes again and looked up at the sky. There were only a few clouds in the sky, blocking the sun momentarily. "I don't wanna get back up now. Someone's gunna have to pry me away from here. I love this spot too much."

"They think thier lives are so difficult" Maxi sighed and raised his eyes to the sky, it was amazing how both worlds could coinside with each other, and yet their world had to hide away. Was it out of fear? Maxi wasnt afraid of them, what could muggles do to a wizard community. "I'd like to live in their shoes for more than a day, Fay. But unfortunatly, we're stuck in this world. Muggles wont ever accept us. They are scared of what they dont understand, and they wouldnt understand us"
Maxi looked at her, though she hid it, he was getting a sense of sadness from her, so trying to comfort her he got up and put an arm around her shoulders, giving her a friendly hug. "You have more good things than most Fay, its just you dont realise it yet" he smiled, "It doesnt matter if you can go one day, or one hour without tripping up, you'll always have people to help you back on your feet, people who care for you, even friends"
"Well dont get up" he said simply, "Im in no rush, so i can lend you some of my company if you would like it?" he said with a smile, he quite liked being by the lake, it was relaxing for him.

Felicity squeaked as Maxi put his arm around her shoulders. It was rather unexpected. "Thanks Maxi." She glanced over to him and grinned. He didn't know a lot about her, but still at least he saw something good in her. That made her feel better.
She put her hands behind her head and tilted her head so she could look up at the tree. "This would be the perfect scene to draw ya know? I really wish I had my sketch book with me." Fay's eyes widened for a moment and she gasped. Oh dear, she let it slip. Felicity had taken up that Muggle thing. Sketching, drawing. Her cheeks flushed and she shut her eyes. "Ug, you weren't supposed to know that."
