As Ella opened the door into the Owlery, she shivered into her jacket, and pulled the thin fabric tighter around her frail body.
Letter in hand, she walked to the middle of the circular room, gazing at all the gorgeous owls... Until she barely stepped out of the way in time of owl poop plummeting to the floor.
Scrunching her face in slight disgust, she walked further, keeping a close eye for owl poop. =]
"Arif!" She called as she spotted her black owl above her. Arif flew towards Ella and landed on her shoulder. She walked over to the window and sent him off with the letter to be taken to her parents. Of course it was only short and undetailed, that's all they really cared to hear.
As Ella looked out on the grounds, she saw the Quidditch pitch in the distance. Some people flying around, a few playing a small game of quidditch for fun. The land seemed so endless..... The bigness of it made Ella feel so small in comparison...

Her mother was driving her insane everyday she received a new owl from her asking how things were going, how school was, if she was studying, if she was making strong connections. There was a pile of notes sitting in the corner, she figured that the only was to make that happen was to simply write the woman back and tell her everything was OK.
There was a whole lot of crumpled up papers by her bed as she tried to formulate a response that would get the dreaded woman off of her back. After several tries she figured she came up with one that was good enough. So now she was headed toward the Owlery in order to send it off.
She climbed and climbed the stairs every minute feeling colder and colder having decided not to put a jacket on she realized how silly a decision that was. Shivering cold she had her arms wrapped around her body the letter clutched in her hand. Instantly she knew that someone else was in the room with her.
Turning her head left she saw it was Ella Malfoy. Angel hadn't had the chance to talk to her much but she heard some odd rumors about the girl. After what happened to her Angel did her best not to judge anyone until she got to know them. "Hey there Ella sending out a letter as well."

Marcel grinned to himself devilishly as he ghosted through the air, easily floating past distraught-looking owls. He had noticed the two girls immediately and, as any irksome spirit was to do, decidedly began to eavesdrop on what was shaping up to be a very dull conversation.
Feeling it was his duty to stir up excitement, or perhaps engage in mischief, Marcel floated quietly toward Angelique, keeping himself transparent until he could grasp the letter tucked under her arm. Then, holding back a snicker, the ghost pulled it from her grasp and spiraled into the air with a high-pitched giggle.
"I think Ella will be the only one sending out any letters today," Marcel grinned and waved the envelope between his fingers lazily. "But don't you worry," he turned to Angelique smugly, "Everyone will get a chance to hear your letter when I read it out loud during dinner tonight."
The ghost leered at his small audience before placing his fingers over the envelope as if he were about to tear it open. "Though, perhaps I should rehearse first? What do you think?"

Ella was suprised when a girl walked up behind her. Ella turned her head and wiped the light hair from her face, to see none other than Angelique. A fellow Slytherin, but not one she had spoken to.
"Oh, hello Angelique! Yes, actually, I am." Ella smiled, starting to say something else, but before she could- A ghost flew up, cackling insanely as he threatened to read Angeliques letter aloud. Ella gasped in suprised, but calmed as she realized it was Marcel, one of the castle ghosts. Normally they don't scare her much, but Marcel had snuck up in such a way that startled Ella almost out of her skin!
"Marcel! Come down from there and give Angelique her letter back!" Ella yelled to the ghost, crossing her arms with furrowed eyebrows toward it.

Marcel pouted as he hovered in the air, fingers turning the envelope over in his hand. "Give it back?" Exaggerating a look of concentration, Marcel tapped his chin thoughtfully as if contemplating the demand. "Oh, okay. I will."
The flash in his eyes, however, was sure to quell any relief the girls might have begun to feel. After swiveling around both of them twice, the ghost soared straight towards Ella, but made sure to stay just out of reach. "After I'm done reading it, that is." He grinned, freckled cheeks stretching in a boyish smile.

Marcel flew just above them, right out of Ella's reach. He was teasing them. Ella stomped her foot, exasperated at the ghost. She had never had any personal trouble with him, but she had seen his 'shinanigans' before.
Ella then looked to Angelique for her reaction...

As she began to speak to Ella something happened to anger her beyond belief. One of the ridiculous ghosts floated into the room grabbed the letter out of her hand and threatened to read it to everyone at dinner that night. Angel's face normally pretty was now distorted and ugly from rage as the impertinent undead thing had the audacity to touch what belonged to her.
Ella asked him to return the letter to her and he decided he would only after he had read it. Angel had surely had enough of him and of his stupidity. "Grow up you annoying toe rag" she yelled as her temper got the better of her and right then and there it finally happened. She transformed on her own for the first time. A tiny scops owl could now be seen where Angel had once stood and it soon soared up to the ghost. Grabbing the letter within its beak Angel soared around the room once before handing the letter off to another owl who took off in an instant.
The robe she left behind now in her beak as she flew out toward the stairs transforming back she threw the robe on herself walking back into the owlery. "Next time you try that or anything like it I will find a way to curse a ghost" she vowed.

Tut tut. Brooke had been having so much fun recently that she had forgotten to owl a letter home, what with the latest slytherin she punched in the face for calling a friend a mudblood. Serves the stupid ignorant slytherin right for getting a punch in the nose., they shouldn't be so disrespectful.
Quill in hand, she tickled her chin with the feather for a moment, figuring out how to sign off. Thinking hard for a moment as she sat in a comfy chair opposite her brother Bryn, she looked up to him, giving him a smile, before putting pen to paper once again and writing her name. Re-reading over it once again, she gave a small nod, happy with her penmanship before folding it neatly and placing it in an envelope. Brooke would never have time to buy herself and owl, nevermind look after it, so she chose to use the schools owls. They were more reluctant to take your mail, but once you coaxed them, they happily obliged.
"Be back in ten minutes Bryn" she said, pulling herself out of the chair and pushing the door open to reveal the staircase. Letting the door fall back, she jogged down the staircases, lucky enough it was a straight go and she didn't have to stop to wait for it to change direction. Walking out the castle and over the grounds, she eventually made her way to the owlery.
Still clutching the letter, careful not to crease it, she opened the door and heard voices bickering. Holding the door open for a moment, she listened carefully at the voices. Smirking, she made her way in and to the voices. Looking up, she saw a ghost clutching a slytherins letter. Quickly pulling out a small bag of coins, she tied it to an owls leg as the owl snatched the letter from her hand before flying out of the window. Seeing one of the girls turn into an owl and snatch the letter back before another owl delivered it, she raised her eyebrows. A laugh escaped her lips as she leant against the wall and smirked at the slytherins being defeated by a ghost.
"Oh dear, do you need me to call Ghostbusters?" she said dryly.

Marcel rolled his eyes as the girl threatened him, now completely void of amusement and instead glowing with irritation.
"Wonderful Animagus form," he said cruelly, no longer caring about being within their reach and glaring at them from only an inch away. "Why worry about visiting the Owlery at all for your letters? Mangy things like you can just deliver her own," smirking, Marcel perched himself on the window sill.
When a new voice perked his interests, Marcel jumped off his ledge and hovered in front of the Gryffindor. His mirth returned as he circled her, cackling. "I think you need to call the local zoo - let them know Angelique escaped!"

Angelique cackled at him as if his petty little insults were suposed to bother her. "Aw poor little filthy ghostie angry because I ruined your fun, nothing left for you to do but lodge insults at me, too bad you don't mean enough to me for me to care about what comes out of your dead lips. Why not go find something to eat, oh wait you can't now can you." Rolling her eyes she heard the sound of footsteps and found another girl standing in the owlery, this one she didn't know and something about her comment made Angel think she might not like her any better if she did.
Again the ghost made a comment "Oh yes, and after you done with that why not call the morgue tell them we have a waste of plasma floating around Hogwarts" Angel spat back once more cackling.

As the battle went on between Angelique and Marcel, she stayed in her same postion, watching the insults fly back and forth as if it were a tennis match! Another girl entering the room made Ella snap her attention to her, along with the others.
The girl seemed amused, and Ella narrowed her eyes, although the girl seemed to be paying attention to the ghost flying above her head. A Gryffindor? What makes them believe they are so much above Slytherins? Just because Potter was in Gryffindor? Some of them were not that bad, but it seemed many were hypocritical with the way they judged Slytherins, just they way they made complaints of us judging them...
It was all silly. There is good and bad. But that is not judged by houses. Just because Ella was cunning, did that make her a bad person? Yes..she had her temper, but she was not as bad as some think.
"Marcel!" Ella yelled, again. "What is the point?!" She asked, exasperated.

She didn't look at the other slytherin, yet she knew her eyes were on her. As she still smirked, she pushed herself off the wall and stepped forward more, still smiling at the ghost and his tricks. She had heard he threatened to read it, and although it was probably a rather bland letter, the privacy being revoked would be fun nontheless.
"Make sure you read it out loud so everyone can here you. There's a couple of students hanging out outside the owlery, i'm sure they would love to hear about a slytherins exciting life" she said slyly. "Dear Mom and Dad, today I bullied some Hufflepuffs, then I had dinner and then I bullied some first years!" she mocked, pretending to write down a letter using her palm for parchment and her finger for a quill. The slytherins were judging her, and so feeling the tension in the room angered her more. She knew exactly what they were thinking, but they didn't bet on her being as nasty as they were.
As Marcel mocked the previous slytherin by comparing her to a zoo animal, a burst of laughter left Brooke, and she doubled over slightly at Marcel's mocking of her poor excuse of an animagus. "Will Twycross zoo be alright Marcel, I don't think they take common fleabags at the better zoo's" she snickered. Folding her arms once more, her eyes flashed over the slytherins before she looked back up to the ghost.

Angel's attention was taken away from the ghost when the newcomer decided to pipe up and spit out some words of her own. Angel's eyes narrowed as she listened to the ridiculous drivel coming from the ignorant mouth of such a pathetic little nobody. "Ah yes as usual Gryffindor's put their keen and penetrating mind to what's really going on around them. The letter's long gone nimrod or didn't you see the owl fly out of here with it, or notice Marcel get so angry because his fun was ruined. Ah, well I suppose not since you're so busy running your mouth when apparently you seem not to actually see anything."
For once Angel hadn't actually done anything to anyone yet here she was getting disrespected by a flippant ghost, and a stupid git Gryffindor. "I'm sorry but is there a reason you feel the need to be rude when I don't even know you and you don't even know me." Looking over at Ella "They wonder why we're cruel, I don't get it. Even when we haven't done a thing they feel the need to say such things." Turning back to the new comer, "Yes Twycross zoo I'm sure you know it well dear, your family must have been picking up monkey poop there for generations." Angel was raring for a fight, if she wanted one she could surely have one. For once she had done nothing wrong she was simply being provoked by some cocky nobody who wanted to prove something.

(Hope you dont mind my intrusion)
Drumming his fingers on the wooden table, glancing at the grandfather clock in the common room. He was beginning to worry about Brooke, not that he needed to, but usually when she said she wouldnt be gone too long, she usually wasnt, but this was Brooke he was talking about, Brooke wasnt known for doing as she says, still, just to be on the safe side, Bryn had decided to go and look for his wayward sister. Now where had she said she would be?
"The Owlery!"
He knew Brooke had gone to deliver a letter, and since she didnt have her own owl, and Bryn's was already out on a delivery, she may have just been having a fight with one of the school owls, he wouldnt put it past her. She would fight with anything that even gave her a dodgy look. Good thing twins stick together really, or Brooke would have been in a lot of trouble years ago. Saying that, Bryn wasnt exactly known for keeping his gob shut either. They had to look out for each other, Bryn knew without one another they would have been mincemeat years ago.
Heading up the stone steps, voices beginning to get a bit louder as he walked, he found himself furrowing his brow as more than one of the voices he did not recognise. He stood outside the owlery doorway for a lot of it, listening to the callous remarks being thrown at each other. Maybe they needed a referee, but Bryn wouldnt be it, he would never be fair where Slytherin were concerned. He usually wasnt one to label people, but with Slytherins, they were Evil until they proved otherwise. And these were not proving otherwise. Brooke seemed to be handeling herself and he was about to leave, but hearing some girl make a comment about his, yes his family, a slight fire bust free inside of him. Nobody was able to badmouth his family, nobody.
"Really?" Came his voice from the door, "Are you really that rubbish at throwing back remarks you have to sink as low as to insult someone's family." Tilting his head to the side, he folded his arms across his chest, "That was worst than 'Your mamma' jokes. And believe me, they are low." Though his tone was dripping in sarcasm and clear dislike, his voice was low, calm and cool. His grey eyes narrowed upon the person who dare insult his family.

Oh lovely someone else decided to join a fray, a boy stood there and of course decided to address Angel. She must have been wearing a start with me sign on her back since it seemed that's what everyone inside the owlery seemed to want to do. Turning her attention to him she said simply "I was up here minding my own business trying to mail a letter home, a letter which was taken by a rude inconsiderate ghost, causing me to go to great lengths to get it back. After that I have snide remarks thrown my way by this girl who doesn't even know me. Childish as it sounds, she started it and since she chose to have a go at me I chose to have a go at her. If it offends too bad since as I stated before I was minding my own damn business when I came up here."
This was getting ridiculous and Angel was getting agitated. She had to put up with crap in the Slytherin common room now she was simply trying to alleviate her mothers worry by sending the insufferable woman an owl and she was getting heat for that. Of course she was pissed of course she was spitting back venom.
"Sorry I won't apologize not when I didn't start it, not this time anyway."
