"If he was a true Slytherin, he wouldn't associate himself with such filth." Erys remarked cooly, tossing her bangs away from her eyes calmly. No, she wouldn't get riled up by this little girl. She was foolish to underestimate Erys. At least she was aware of her opponent's strengths and weaknesses, let alone what they had done to triumph in this world. No, this mutt knew not of her accomplishments, therefor she was doomed to become one of them.
If anything was to come of this little spat, she was unsure of. Should Erys hex her? Perhaps she'd use a binding spell, to make sure she couldn't use her wand. Or light her on fire? Ah, yes! There was another spell, one of her favorites. It caused extreme stress and could cause the victim to die of exhaustion, if kept up for so long. This wouldn't happen, of course, but it didn't hurt to scare some sense into the child. She didn't even need her wand, after taking the Occlumency class last year.
To be frank, Erys preferred fist-fights rather than magic. Though it was useful to be able to set someone aflame, and she was no muggle, at times the Slytherin felt it unfair. This didn't stop her from jinxing anybody, heavens no. It was a minor irritation, nothing major.
"If she is wise enough to know her place, then nothing will happen." The Slytherin stated, not even joking about it, "Let me know when you ditch the diapers and put your big girl pants on."

Whirling around to spit more angry words - and probably the lecture of minding his own business, as the Gryffindork expected - the Slytherin paused in her rush of fury, noticing the flash of terror in his bird's eyes. So what if I scare it? Its not my bird. She thought, narrowed eyes flashing a vivid green. She contemplated hissing at it then and there, the effect probably sending them all flying in mass hysteria. What fun that could be! Hm.. Though she wouldn't admit he was right, the animagus pressed her full lips together, willing the fangs to go away. "Fine." She muttered curtly, if only for the winged ones' sake. Stupid birds, ruining my fun. But the thought wasn't as harsh as the ones directed at the mutt, and the look in her eyes softened. Sure, she was a cold-hearted Slytherin, but there was always a place for animals.. Somewhere in there.
Glancing around at the still-horrified assembly of birds, Erys waited for their eyes to un-dilate, an amused look on her face. If only the mutt were as scared of her as they were, now that would be entertaining. She would do well to steer clear of her, if she wanted her skin to remain clear.

"Ah yes, but a true Slytherin utilizes all aspects of a person, whether it be fore friendship or manipulation." Polaris said calmly with a soft smile. A Slytherin was a Slytherin after all. Too bad their ego blocked their sensability, else Erys would know that Polaris knew more than she thought.
"And Miss, have you not noticed I am taller and a bit bigger than you? I'm afraid I already have my 'big girl pants' on and have for a years." She stated while raising a 'matter of fact' finger. Polaris had already sized up Erys, taking her in at the mere height of 5'5" where she herself stood at 5'8". But as they say.. size doesn't matter. It's how you use it.
Polaris then fell silent in respect of Yorick, smiling gently while inclining her head politely.

"She's adorable." Polaris said softly, smiling while lifting a hand to gently stroke at the small owls crown, ruffling it's feathers in a playful manner. "A pleasure, Yorick. Unusual name, not to sound rude." Her accent was apparent with all the talking, though it didn't bother her, and had hoped it didn't bother the others either. Oddly enough, Polaris found herself feeling a slight twinge of pride and accomplishment as Yorick nestled in with the surrounding group and turned his back on Erys. He learned well and would make it a long ways if he kept using his wits.

"I doubt you'd know what it takes to be a true Slytherin. Its much more than the wretched hat says in its little rhymes." Erys Grace responded, her voice calm, without hint of threatening. "And by putting your big girl pants on, I didn't mean your size 17's." Laughing a little, the Slytherin turned, preparing to walk out of the Owlery without a second glance. These people weren't worthy enough of her time.
Taking a breath of fresh, non-poo-filled air once she was outside, the animagus jumped down the stairs, landing on feline paws as she scampered away, slowing her pace to a calm walk. Perhaps she'd go check out the dungeons? Now that sounded like a better idea than jousting words with a teenybopper.

Cristian accepted the greeting from Yorick, not just for breaking the ice and having a new friendship, but breaking the tension between Polaris and Erys. Erys stormed off and the door seemed to slam behind her. "Well, that was interesting!" He smiled, slightly confused on the last words of Erys about the size. "I don't know why I came here, I don't ever have letters to send" He said, more disappointed at the fact he had no use for an owl, even though he wanted one. He looked up to the top tower to see hundreds of birds all huddled together, with the odd gap of where a bird was on errands for it's master.

"Ah, Erys was only insulting herself in saying that she was -fat-." Polaris nodded, explaining to the boys. "And Shakespear? My mother liked him, but I could never get into it. Always someone dying. Though Brutus... he was handsome." She commented, laughing softly to herself.
"And myself? The name is Polaris Stormwrath. A pleasure." Polaris introduced herself, tipping her head forward slightly. "And same here, Cristian. I just love the companionship my owl offers, besides, I think he's adorable." She said with a wide smile. This was the first time in a long while that she actually had got on good terms with people from a different house, dare she even say.. friends?

"I don't like Shakespeare. He reminds me of bad memories..."
Helena then proceeded to ramble about underage drinking, book-throwing, and off-key singing.
Helena usually liked a nice debate, but this time she was exhausted and decided to stay back. Besides, she hated getting involved in conflicts. There is a small but important difference between debate and mindless arguing. Helena curiously watched Erys leave, and turned to Yorick.
"Yorick Gatsby? I know you, I think." Helena started.
