Helena walked up the stairs, three at a time, sweating slightly. She finally reached the top, and whistled through her fingers, calling over Andy. "Hey, Zaltzman Boy," she told him. "Can you send this letter?" "Zaltzman Boy" was Helena's nickname for Andy, as he was named Andy Zaltzman.
Helena pulled out a piece of paper that had worn thin at the edges she folded it at.
Dear mom and dad, School is great, so far. Well, no. It's a bit mediocre to be honest, but I'm doing fine. Mom, can you send more vegan cookies? Oatmeal would be fit as a fiddle. I need something to eat while having my daily dose of "those stupid sci-fi books" as you call them. And "those stupid fantasy books" and "those stupid comedy books". Ha, hope life is good back there, too. Love, Helena.
Tying it to Andy's leg, Helena briefly turned around as she thought she heard some footsteps.

Cristian had made his way up to the Owlery, not to send a letter, because he had no family to send a letter too, but just for the normality of it all. He saw a Hufflepuff girl tying a letter to an Owl's leg. "Hey, is that your owl? It looks cool" he said, trying to make conversation. He had his hands in his front pockets and looked a little out of place with no letters in the Owlery.

Polaris stepped silently up the stairwell behind the unnoticing Cristian Martinez. She didn't know who he was, except for the fact that he was in her house, or why he was going up to the owlery, but that didn't matter to her; she was bored. He walks so slow...
Upon reaching the entrance to the Owlery, she slipped behind a wall as Cristian walked forward into the domed room, speaking out to someone, "Hey, is that your owl? It looks cool." Polaris held in a soft giggle as she peered around the corner into the room, Looks tasty, that's for sure!
Deciding that she had spent enough time in the shadows, she waltzed casually into the Owlery, calling to her owl so that it looked like she was there for business' sake, not curiosity.

The bengal cat that was Erys Grace made her way up the stairwell, wrinkling her nose at the scent of mutt. Wolf, to be exact. It wasn't as if she hated the aroma.. The fact that it reminded her of Joshua was evident, not to mention still a little painful. She was over it now, but every so often, that smell.. Of course this time it belonged to a mangy little girl, who was too young to be a registered animagus and thus, a criminal. There was no way the ministry would allow this. Perhaps she should pay them a little visit after this, eh?
Anyways.. Slipping through the entrance-way into the Owlery, the Slytherin concentrated on her human self, soon standing there without the slightest bit of interest towards the three. She had met that Cristian boy in the Great Hall a while ago, sure, but that was merely to catalog his name in her mind. After that she wasn't sure much contact would be made between them. Leaning out the small window, Erys made a wierd sound with her tongue, a clicking mixed with other.. Things, that seemed to be a bird call. Satisfied, she nodded, backing away from the feces-covered sill and arching an eyebrow at her fellow students. Soon there was a great flapping of black wings, and a large, beautiful raven entered the room, soaring over to perch on her shoulder. "There there, Shadow." She soothed him, as he was quite unsettled by the amount of owls in his midst. ( There was a reason he didn't chill in here, of course, the lonely thing. ) Letting him move down to her wrist, she offered him a treat, a small strip of meat. Shadow cawed happily, eating it up and fixing the others with its beady stare.
To be frank, she had a letter for the ministry. There were too many animagi besides herself at this school, and they were much too young to have mastered the talent. They hadn't even learned, let alone perfected, most of the spells neccessary for the curriculum! They certainly shouldn't have the ability. The purpose of the letter was to inform them on this, and whether it was right or not, Erys couldn't give a damn. Tying the rolled-up parchment to Shadow's leg, she whispered, "The ministry. You know who." in his ear, shaking her arm as means to force him to fly. Nodding as he left, she whirled around, "Letters to home?" She sneered slightly.

"Yes," Helena replied in a somewhat polite voice.
She finished tying the knot with a flourish-like-thing, and leaned over as she whispered to Andy, the incredibly small owl, "There we go, now can you send this home? Excellent."
Helena watched him fly away, wings flapping quickly and rather awkwardly.
"Hey, Cristian. Yeah, it's mine. He's named Andy, after Andy Zaltzman. Apparently he's an 'elf owl'."
Helena then turned to the mysterious Ravenclaw girl. "Do I know you?" she asked.

Polaris turned to Helena with a soft smile as a large, horned eagle owl perched upon her forearm. Speaking in return to her question, her thick nordic accent was apparent in her response. "No, actually. I've never seen you. But we have now, aye? My name is Polaris Stormwrath. Yourself, Miss?"
Plucking a small morsel of meat from her pocket, Polaris fed it to her owl. "You're becoming plump, Haldr.. You best not eat for a few days." She said softly with the same smile before dismissing him.

Cristian smiled at Helena. He looked at her Owl again as he flew away. He was small, he didn't realise it before. "So how long have you had him?" He said about to sit on the sill before realising it was covered in poo, and standing up quickly again. He then noticed another Ravenclaw, but he hadn't noticed her before, nor seen her around. He turned around and smiled when she looked at him, then turned around back to Helena.

"Howdy," Helena turned to Polaris, "Helena Martin. I'm Hufflepuff Chaser, is that where you've seen me?"
"I've had Andy since my first year. Age 11, and if you can believe it, he was even smaller." Helena then noticed Cristian had no letters. "Not to be rude or anything, but what are you doing here?"

"Well, I usually watch the pitch from the Ravenclaw common room, but I could never play myself.. I hate heights and I could never get a broom off the ground.." Polaris admitted with a faint blush mottling her cheeks.
Turning around at the sound of new voice, she smiled and nodded politely before moving back and relaxing against the bricked wall of the domed room. "You look to be good around animals it's nice to see that for a change, instead of those Slytherin harassing the poor things."

"..instead of those Slytherin harassing the poor things." "The only animal I would ever harrass, Miss Stormwrath, is you. I happen to excell at Care of Magical Creatures, and own a well-cared for pet." The Slytherin remarked dryly, "You should get your facts straight, little girl, before generalizing an important issue. I would never harm a little creature." There was truth in her voice, you see, because she was indeed right: she loved Care of Magical Creatures, owned a cute yet highly protective Kneazle, and worked well with animals. It was in her birthright. "Seeing as you love to prejudize everything you come in contact with, I shouldn't be surprised hearing anything less from you." Erys finished, teeth a little pointier now than a moment ago. She hadn't insulted her, but the comment should have been researched before blatantly stated as such. Foolish child.
Nearly forgetting that Yorick had squeezed past, Erys breathed quietly, cataloging his scent in her memory box before turning slightly to look at him. Oh, yay, another Gryffindor. As if she wasn't already outnumbered, though that clearly wouldn't come into play, her magics far advanced the trio. Of course you cant get a broom off the ground, little brat. You dont have the courage to, and it knows it. She thought snidely, shaking her head to bring her back from her thoughts as she glanced around. The stench of owl droppings was almost insufferable, and the reek was getting on their nerves. If they could smell it, then it was a heck of alot worse for her, with her cat senses. Even the mutt should be recoiling from it, the ungrateful thing.

Polaris laughed softly at the puss' attempt to intimidate her. "Oh, my apologies, pussy cat. It was an assumption seeing as your hair is a bit mottled, not to mention it has a bit of owl droppings in it." She said eyeing her own owl above Erys' head who gave a soft hoot in return. But, being the better person, I better credit the snob. "I do suppose you tell the truth since you've not yet pounced an owl in pure feline instinct. Besides, a good friend of mine did note you were well on your way in the Care of Magical Creatures."
Quirking her eyebrow slightly at the notion of Erys' pointed teeth, she simply yawned in boredom at the show and did the same, just to show her up for fun. If the puss thinks she can push me around.. she's another thing coming.
Polaris then waved a dimissing hand towards her, returning her attention back to Helena, who by now she guessed, was not enjoying Erys' little show.

Erys shook her head, arching an eyebrow and nearly laughing out loud, "Nice try, mutt, but I would have sensed if anything was about to drop on my head." Her hair was clean. Not to mention she was part cat, so the birds tended to give her a wird girth. They didn't have the guts to crap on her, 'lest she might eat them. She wouldn't, of course, but they didn't know that. Crossing her arms over her chest, the Slytherin wondered if she noticed she was a prefect. For that foolish retort, Erys could have taken points off and given her detention. Disrespecting a prefect! Shameful. She knew nothing of the world yet she strode around, chest puffed out, confidence overwhelming, like she'd seen it all. Well, there were places for brats like her, and that was underneath the Slytherin's feet.
"And who might this good friend be?" Erys questioned, eyes narrowed into slits as parts of her iris flashed green. To think they had nothing better to do than gossip about how a Slytherin was doing in Care of Magical Creatures. Now if it was Braydin, that was alright. He wasn't a bad guy, and she had beaten him in a fight when they were both cats. He knew his place around her, and she tolerated him. Anyone else besides a friend in her house, and they'd need a talking to. One that involved hexes and claws.

"Mmhmm.." Polaris shrugged her off. Birds surely couldn't tell she was a cat, since she was clearly a human. And it's too bad really, Polaris was a pure breed with a strong blood line, but being called a 'mutt' she supposed, was the worst thing that Erys could do to her. All bark and no bite. For a quick moment her eyes flickered over the badge sewn to the inside of the prefects cloak (Or what ever it's sewn on). Not caring one bit if she was a prefect or not, or what she could do to her didn't really bother her. Luckily she lacks in her duties. Besides, what would she do to apprehend me, throw a hex at me or worse.. try to subdue me? Haha...
Polaris smiled softly. "Oh, just another Slytherin like yourself." Only he was much more. Much more handsome, much more strong, and much more promising in the world.

Cristian just stood with his back to the wall and watched the well dog and cat fight between the Ravenclaw and the Slytherin. He thought they both sounded like they meant business, and he was finding it quite amusing in his mind, but he kept a straight face. He just observed as the two created a slanging match, wondering when a hex was going to come shooting past his ear.

Giving a smile and motioning a thumbs up to her fellow Ravenclaw, Polaris walked a bit closer to the group consisting of Helena, Christian and Yorick. "Don't worry, nothing's going to happen up here. No need to worry." She assured them with her goofy grin.
