Bradyn sighed. So much was happening to him lately that he found himself very confused. Confused about Felicity and confused about Ashton, some of the closest people to him. He'd mulled over all that happened and somehow it all drew back to Maxi. He could get many answers from him, yet for a while he'd feared confronting him. Only as the term neared it's end did he decide it was now or never.
Late one evening, far after curfew, Bray snuck out into the corridors. He would've found Maxi at a regular time that wouldn't impede his sleep, but he had no means of contacting him besides a lame letter. So, Bradyn decided that he would sneak out an cause a bit of a commotion that would draw him there. After all, there were a lot less people at night and the chances of Maxi being among them were much higher.
Walking past many portraits with his lit wand in hand, he shone the light in their faces on purpose. This caused many of them to shout and scold him, making telltale signs of a student out of bed. Deciding that he'd disturbed enough portraits to be heard about three corridors away, he put in the second part of his plan. "Nox" He muttered, stuffing his wand into his pocket before transforming quickly. Only a few select prefects, and those were allied, could recognize him like this. Others would suspect him as a pet cat that had sneaked out of their master's common room to hunt.

Maxi was on his rounds tonight, much as he didnt want to be as only last week he had decided he didnt want to be a prefect anymore, but since it was nearing terms end he decided he would stick it out. He prayed he would not be made Headboy next year, that would just confuse him and he knew in his heart he would refuse it. Maxi had had enough problems when it came to responsibility and this proved he wasnt ready to be in charge of so many people, he wasnt ready for this kind of resposibility just yet.
He was wandering down a corridor, walking these corridors at night were what Max used to love. When he knew it was past curfew and breaking the rules, except now he was allowed to and it just wast any fun anymore, in fact it was more tedious than fun. It didnt hold as many qualities and it was lonely. Far lonlier than he could have ever imagined.
As he was walking down the corridor, he heard the yells of the portraits in another corridor, "Now what?" He mumbled as he made his way towards the corridor, "Lumos" he said as the portraits began to wail at him now, "Oh do be quiet!" He snapped, "I'm a prefect for gods sake, what on earth has gotten you all rilled up like this?"
"A student out of bed! Shining that damned light purposly in our faces"
"What sort of person would want to be caught?"He asked as he began to walk down the corridor. As he got further down he saw the commotion, the cat he instantly knew to be Bray because of all the comments he got about it, smirking he shined his wand down onto the feline, "What are you doing Bray? Did you want Vance to catch you? He is patrolling tonight you know"

Bradyn yawned a bit. It sure was late, maybe he should have picked an earlier hour to sneak out but he wanted some of the older professors to be more tired and not quite on their toes. Listening to the whines of the portraits, he was quite sure that he'd attract someone even if it wasn't quite the person he was expecting. His tail lashed impatiently until he found himself blinded for a moment. 'The hell?' He thought, until he realized it was the light of someone's wand. And luckily, it was Maxi so he wouldn't have to go and try this again on a different floor.
Changing back, he leaned against the wall with his hands folded behind his head. He grinned at Maxi, still a little proud at how effective his plan was, or maybe it was just luck. "Yes, I hoped to find the Potions professor of evil, that's why I upset every portrait I passed." He said, rolling his eyes. "Actually, I wanted to talk to you. So, let's get out of here before someone else tries to figure out what the hell happened to all the paintings." Bray said, standing back up.

He watched as the cat, or Bray, reacted to the wand light and found himself smiling lightly as he moved the wand so Bray could see who it was. He had a sudden urge to pick the cat up, of course he didnt he was sure Bray would exactly appreciate that. Instead he just stood there looking at him until he finally changed back.
"Well I wouldnt want to find him if I were you" He smiled slyly, "He's in an even more foul mood then usual" Maxi raised an eyebrow when Bray continued his words and found himself smirking at the ravenclaw, "So you upset every portrait just for a chance to see me? You know that was going on a slightly small chance right?"
Maxi began to walk down the corridors, thankfully, being a prefect he knew which corridors were locked and which ones were occupied. Finding one he smiled and used the 'alohomora' charm to open it and stepped inside, "People think this room is locked so they wont check. Muffliato" He mumbled in the room as another spell took place, "And that should stop anyone hearing on the outside."
"Now what did you want to speak to me about?"

"Ah, silly, that's not possible." Bradyn said, grinning a little. "And believe it or not, my plan was near flawless. I wouldn't have been caught by another prefect or professor unless they tried to reveal me. But of course, by the time that even occurred to them, I would've high tailed it out of there." He stuffed his hands in his pockets and followed after Maxi. "And, being normal and just sending you a note wouldn't suit me at all. This way was much more effective."
Bray walked in after Maxi, shutting the door silently behind him. "Well, I have a couple of things. But I guess I'll start with the one that actually concerns me first." He said, sitting down against the wall and resting his head on the cool stone surface. Deciding to get straight to the point, he carefully thought out how he was going to say this, until the thought hit him of Maxi probably not knowing as much about Fay as he did.
"There's a bit of a story that I'll have to tell you first, but before you can even comprehend the story. Do you know, well, who Felicity Locke really is?" The way he phrased it may have meant, hey could you point this girl out in a crowd, but he was actually referring to what she was.

"Yeah but" Maxi said as he looked at Bray, "You know Vance. He knows everything about everyone and likes no-one" Maxi laughed. "Vance would have known there was an Animagus prowling around so would have looked long and hard for it. For you" He smiled as he looked at the door. "Yeah, more effective in the way of waking the whole castle up!"
Maxi didnt quite know what was going on. He found it strange how Bray had wanted to speak to him in the first place. They were friends, so to speak but they werent close or anything. "Well by all means start, because im at a loss of what's actually going on here" He watched as Bray sat down on the stone and Maxi took a seat upon a table. He waited for Bray to talk again, because Max had no idea what to say.
"Fay?" He asked again, his suspisions about Bray's and Fay's relationship coming back. If Bray didnt like Fay, why was he here talking about her? Dont get ahead of yourself, this might be something completely different, afterall Fay did deny anything between them right? "Well she's Fay. Pretty young lass, smart, talented. All things Claw like, and a little strange" He said the last bit quite confusingly. "She's extreamly secretive and she's careful about what she says, almost to careful..." Maxi thought back to the lake, and something hit him. But he didnt know if it was anything of relevance so he didnt mention it. "Why?"

Bradyn rolled his eyes at the comments about Vance. The cranky old man just had his wand up his arse too far, ah but, he was a decent teacher if you could stand him. "Oh, what a threat. I'd be hunted down with a pack of dogs, aye? Good thing it worked on the first shot." He said, grinning at Maxi. It's not like Vance would do anything besides take points off and give him detentions until the term ended.
Seeing Maxi sit on a desk he narrowed his eyes a little. 'Just had to tower over me more than usual?' He thought bitterly but shrugged it off. Bradyn had some serious business to tend to, and he'd have to try not to be distracted.. what an impossible task.
Bradyn grunted a bit and flailed his arms. "I said who she really is, as in not just who she is!" He said, rather sharply. "But it's obvious you don't know so I'll just tell you. You're.. trustworthy enough."
"The reason Felicity Locke is so secretive and choosy about her words, is because she's half veela. And her mom who works at Honeydukes, Christi Locke, is full veela. So be careful when you go there. She likes to feast on attractive guy's souls, no matter what their age is. Tried to get me one time, but Fay beat her off." He said, rambling a bit at the end as he did with most things. Bray was very easily distracted by himself, and it took him a moment to realize he'd gotten off topic. "But yes. Fay's a veela child."

It was common knowledge that hardly anyone in the school liked Vance, but Maxi respected him. Vance had been places, done things. It was even rumoured he had dabbled more than a little bit in the Dark Arts. "Well you never know what a cranky Vance will do." Maxi laughed as he made himself more comfy on the table.
Max saw Bray narrow his eyes at him, and this confused him even more. He didnt know if he was being interrogated or spoken to, and Maxi didnt like interrogations. They made him rather uncomfy.
Max listened to him as he rambled about Fay, "Well you should have said what she is not who she is." Max sighed, he had gotten a funny feeling it was something along those lines when Fay had let slip people would think she charmed a Gryffindor guy. "So she's half veela, its not the end of the world is it? As for her mother, I doubt her charm will work on me since i'm not interested in females"
"So what does Fay being a Veela have to do with anything?"

Bradyn frowned a bit. "But that makes it sound like she's a monster, and since you didn't know you'd think I was, well, mean." Bray sighed and shrugged a bit. "I'm not saying it's a bad thing, it's just something you should know so I could tell you my big important story." He grinned at him and leaned back against the wall with his hands behind his head. "And, who knows if it'd work? It's more of a bodily thing than a mental thing, but it just seemed to tick off Ash when she tried. Rather amusing, actually."
"But there was a point to giving you her biggest secret, and if you tell anyone you know that I'll... do something threatening that I can't think of right now!" He glared falsely at Maxi before pausing for a moment. How would he start this without giving all the details?
"Hm.. Fay has this crazy plan, that I think would put her in danger.. she said it came from a story her mom told her, so I went to go see her mom close to the closing time so no one was there." Bray sighed and reached up to rub his temples. He hadn't told a soul about this story, even though it happened a while ago. Standing back up, he moved over to the table and stood in front of him. "You can keep a secret, right?" He said, keeping his head down and not looking at Max. "because, I haven't been able to tell this to anyone, and I don't really know why you seemed to be the one I wanted to tell most."

"Dont be daft Bray" Maxi laughed as he leant back on the table and looked above Bradyn's head. "I wouldnt have thought she was a monster, You could have told me she was a blood sucking fiend and I woul still like her" He gave a shrug and a half smile, "Fay's just Fay." Maxi sighed as Bray carried on, it was late and he was tired, but this was important, or he got the feeling as though it was anyway. "My body doesnt really react to the charms of a female unless there is something seriously..." Maxi stopped thinking for a moment and laughed, "Well maybe it would"
"Point taken" Maxi smiled, he gave a sign of crossing his heart over his chest, "If you thought i would tell anyone you wouldnt be sat here telling me would you?" He smiled.
Maxi listened to what Bray had to say, it seemed to be taking him some effort in telling Maxi, but Fay was one of Bray's best friends and Bray was telling Max her biggest secret so he didnt really get surprised. "Bray the amount of secrets I have in my brain is unreal. I forget most of them" He laughed, "I promise you I wont tell a soul, I wont even tell my own soul"

[ Sorry I didn't post earlier. cramps. ]
Bradyn shrugged, they could argue for a long time about what could have happened, but they'd never really know. So instead he decided just to drop that. He laughed a bit and shook his head. "Ugh! No more of that, I don't want to know how you 'react' to anything like that." He finished off this statement by sticking his tongue out at Max then moving on.
"Yeah, I guess that's a good point." Bray smiled at Maxi. "Good thing you're trustworthy, 'cause I could get in a lot of trouble for this. And not just here at Hogwarts." Winking a bit he leaned forward, setting his head in his hands.
"Let's see.. how should I start? I went to Hogsmeade to meet Ms. Locke, and I caught her while the shop was close to closing. We went somewhere more private and we started to talk, mostly about a theory of Fay's that I can't tell you." He paused and looked up. There were two things that went on, and explaining them simultaneously would be difficult. Fay or veelas, which should he start with?
"I accidentally let it slip that I thought Fay's plan was extremely, extremely dangerous... Miss Locke got upset, saying that she had to protect her." He closed his eyes to compose himself again, just talking about it made him mad again. "She started putting on her coat, she was going to go to the school, and take Fay out of it. Ms. Locke planned to remove her from Hogwarts, to get her out of the danger."
Bray shifted away from Maxi silently and paused in his story. Now was the most crucial part that he had to tell, but he could barely get himself to say it. Finally he composed himself enough to form the sentence in a small whisper. "I couldn't allow that, so I stunned her.. then I used a memory modification that I learned from a ministry member."

((Tiz fine Sorry about the beefiness, I got carried away))
Max flicked his wand and conjured two goblets of butterbeer to him. He was getting good at conjuring something from nothing and levitated one over to Bray as he was too lazy to get down from his table and pass it to the lad himself. "You're the one who said I wouldnt know how I'd react, Im just saying otherwise" He laughed, he knew that kind of conversation would probably make Bray uncomfortable, but it was part of who Max was, and even though a lot of people wanted that to change, he doubted it ever would.
"Its a good thing im not just anyone then, isnt it?" Maxi smiled. He was happy people thought they could trust him. He was getting used to having people come to im with problems and Maxi enjoyed helping them get out of it, even if it dropped himself in trouble, "Gah, dont worry about it Bray. If you get into trouble, I'll be beside you dancing"
Maxi listened to Bray tell his story, he had never met Fay's mother so he didnt know what she was like. Though if she was anything like Fay, Max was sure they would get along. However he was quickly lead to believe that Ms Locke was completely different to Fay, he just nodded when Bray said he couldnt tell Max about Fay's theory, he didnt mind.
"A mothers instinct that Bray" Max told him, "A mother always feels as though they have to protect their children from the world." Believe me, I know this first hand, Max furrowed his brow as his own mother came into his mind, he hadnt thought about properly for over two years, and hadnt spoken about her in over four. Though talking about protective mothers always brought the memory of his own back to haunt him. He snapped back to reality and carried on listening to Bray's story.
Maxi raised an eyebrow as Bray shifted and paused, something was wrong and Max knew it. Max waited for Bray to tell him the part which he thought Bray was dreading in telling, "Oh dear," Maxi said his eyes widening slightly, "Attacking a Hogsmeade Shop Owner could be disasterous, however if you modified her memory, theres not much point in worrying as I doubt she would remember what had happened."
"However..." Maxi carried on, "If you arent properly accustomed to performing these Memory Charms, they may only last for, in between a few weeks and a few months. So if you hadnt done it properly there is a good chance that Fay's mum will get her memory back" He became lost in his thoughts then as different scenario's began to unfold in his mind, "What's worrying you Bray?" He asked, he knew that something must be worrying him about all of this if he had come to Maxi, "What do you need my help for?"

Bradyn smirked and rolled his eyes at Maxi. He was used to Ash's little slipped in gay comments, but they weren't the same as Max's. "Yeah, yeah, whatever you say." He said, grabbing the butterbeer but not bothering to drink any. "Oh, you'll be dancing because I'm getting locked away?" He said, but still laughed a little.
Bray frowned a bit and stared down into his goblet. "I know, I have a much more overprotective mum.. but, it seemed like she was overreacting, and blowing things way out of proportion. I didn't even tell her what Fay had in mind, maybe that's why she freaked out. I guess it's my fault for not really telling her everything.." He sighed at bit and rubbed his temples before turning back to Maxi.
"You think I don't know that? I attacked an adult, I'm lucky that we weren't out in the open, or there would be no way that the ministry wouldn't have seen. They have spies everywhere!" He pulled his legs up onto the table and wrapped his arms around them. Hearing someone else confirm his suspicions of the possibility of her memories coming back just seemed to make him feel worse.
Bray's head drooped a bit and his long bangs shielded his face from view. "Sorry, I didn't mean to snap. It's just, I know all that. I know I'm probably lousy at memory charms. There's a chance she never forgot anyway, and I don't know. I guess I'm just freaking out." His hand clenched into a fist. "I haven't been able to talk to Fay lately, I'm not too good at keeping secrets from her. She'd kill me if she found out, I know it."

"Well, I speak what I think usually." He smile at Bray and took a sip of his own butterbeer. "No, I'll be dancing, distracting them, then you can run away" He laughed, "Come on Bray, you really think we're gonna let you get locked away, what sort of friends would that make us?"
"Could be why she freaked out" Maxi sighed, "Why dont I pay her a visit, see if she remembers anything?" He asked, "That way if she does, I'll make something up, saying you overheard a conversation or something and it wasnt anything bad"
Maxi sighed, he wasnt helping, putting his butterbeer back on the table he slid off and went over to Bray, putting a hand on his shoulder and giving it a comforting little squeeze, "We'll figure something out Bray." He gave him a smile, "Dont worry, you're not alone in this now"
"Believe me, lately im getting used to being snapped at." He laughed, just the other day he was in the pub with Ash and things were fine, until Ash decided to go rambo on him. Shaking his head at that thought he returned his attention to Bray. "Well i'll find out for you, first thing in the morning if you like? I'll pay her a visit"

Bradyn smirked. "Yeah, I guess that's true. But I'd rather not be arrested at all, you know." Bradyn shook his head a bit and laughed, even though he wasn't all that happy. He was starting to come around again, though, and didn't seem as despairing as he did before.
"Yeah, I guess, but I couldn't tell her. What type of friend goes to their parents and blabs about everything, after all?" He sat back up and leaned against the wall.
Closing his eyes for a moment in thought, he went over what could happen if Maxi and Ms. Locke met, most didn't end very well. "I don't know about that.. wouldn't bringing it up increase the chances of her remembering if she doesn't? Maybe we should just let her be, and then if we see a raging veela running across the grounds, we could stuff Fay in a closet?"
Bray frowned up at Maxi, not really minding his hand as much as he normally would. "That's not really something you should be used to, but I'm guessing that things between you and Ashton aren't going too well, then?" As far as he noticed, between trying to avoid his best friends like the plague, Ash seemed a little more depressed and weepy than usual. Which almost always meant Maxi said or did something. Ah, well, it's not like it was his business.
"I don't know, I don't really want you to get so involved in this. It all happened because I meddled where I shouldn't have." He said rather sadly, still not taking a liking to the idea of someone going up to Christi and asking her if she remembered being attacked by Bradyn Reed.
