Apparently Fay wasn't all veela, because Ellie was sure her father had told her that veela's loved to lure men into their traps. Ellie wouldn't have believed Fay enjoyed doing that if she was told she was 100% veela. "I think it's cool." Ellie said, though she wasn't sure she would enjoy feeling other people's feelings. At least Fay put is to good use.
Ellie listened to Fay. Ellie could tell she was telling the truth, but that just confused her more. Ellie opened her mouth to say something, but she couldn't think of what to say. It all made sense after Fay spoke next. "Oh, like going shopping for a present for a girl he likes?" Ellie said, somewhat sarcastically. "He asked for my help to pick something out for a girl he likes." Ellie laughed at the whole thing. "I can't believe he made that up."
Ellie laughed. How could she have not seen that. "Doesn't he realize that I would have hung out with him anyway?" Ellie said. "This is hilarious." She said, laughing again.

Felicity gasped, and then groaned. Ug, Bray was such an idiot sometimes. She really needed to beat some better tactics into that sarcastic brain of his. "Told you, crackpot schemes. He's such an idiot sometimes when it comes to girls."
Fay laughed a bit with El, happy that the girl finally believed her. "I think it's just a guy thing. They always think that girls love to be showered with attention and will never actually hang out with the guy unless forced." She rolled her eyes again.
The veela girl rested her arm around Ellie's shoulders. "Now remember, you have to act all surprised and stuff. And don't tell him that I told you, cause then he'll like murder me." She stuck her tongue out and made a face.

Ellie smiled. Actually when she thought about it, Bray was an idiot, but an adorable idiot. Who would actually think of a plan to trick a girl into spending time with them. Elie knew that he had meant well, and that he was just a stupid boy. In all honesty, Ellie was just as awkward with guys as Bray seemed to be with girls. She would never propose that they 'go out' or 'see each other', she wouldn't know how.
"Yeah, I guess. I don't really get guys. I guess you're lucky you can read them. You might be the only girl in the school that understands what goes on in their heads. They certainly don't clue us in." Ellie laughed. She hadn't had any real experience with guys, but from the gossip she had heard around the school, it seemed like what she had said was the god's honest truth.
"You weren't supposed to tell me!?" Ellie asked, her eyebrows raised. "How long am I going to have to pretend like I don't know." She felt Fay's arm on her shoulder. "I'm a horrible lier Fay, horrible."
