The understanding though slightly pitying look that Dia got from Girty made the professor smile lightly. Though Dia never liked it, all she had experienced with Dan had caused her and Girty's relationship to fizzle and die a spectacular death. Dia was a big believer in having healthy relationships but as long as hers lasted with Dan the one she shared with Girty was unhealthy at best. Having thought this on many occasions and having said this to Dan, Dia knew that things between them were slightly better now that Dan was out of her life.
Blinking the tears that were persisting, Dia smiled at the young Ravenclaw that came in. "Hello Alexis," Dia said, taking the opportunity to think a moment on which constellations could be seen now. "We're not doing any work tonight," she informed the young Claw, "just talking."
Stars were something Dia knew a bit about. "Well," Dia said, turning back to Girty, "the Summer Triangle would still be visible at this time of the year, Cygnus, Aquilla and one of my favourite Lyra. Delphinus would hug the horizon for a greater part of the night, another cute little constellation... Erm ... Hercules, the head of Draco is always eays to identify though he's usually all there for most of this month." Dia shrugged, lifting her palms to the ceiling, "I don't know if any of that helps you at all."

Ash slipped into the Astronomy tower, class had already begun, so he knew he was late. He smiled at Profesoor Owen, "Sorry I'm late." he aplogised as he found a seat in the back of the room.

She managed to make her way to the astronomy tower this was certainly a trek she hated to take especially at that time of the day yet she ad no choice she was back at school and she had to do what was expected of her or she would surely incur her parents wrath, something she did not want to deal with since she spent weeks dealing with it. As she finally reached the last step her breathing slightly heavier as she entered the room. The only thing she cared about was seeing if her fellow Slytherins were there and low and behold she spotted the one person who could always make a class more interesting. Erys Grace her closest comrade.
Making her way over she took a spot nearest her and her brother. Oh yes, her brother Matthew. Angel smirked, seeing him so wasn't a bad thing. She had to refrain from talking because the professor was now speaking and the last thing she wanted to do (mocking laughter in her head) was disrupt a class in progress.

Dia smiled a little sadly at Girty in the following moments of silence. Dia couldn't help but feel that the students didn't much like her or didn't trust her enough to even talk amongst themselves. Looking around a slightly less morbid thought came to her and that was that the few students that had come move then likely didn't know each other very well. The class was a rather disassembled picking from most of the houses. The silence that fell over the class sure should not have surprised the professor.
More students arrived and Dia was glad for it. Looking to the trap door in the floor, Dia's face lit up as one of her favourite students walked in. "Hello Ashton," Dia said cheerfully, "it's not a problem this evening. We're not technically doing any work this evening, though I always seem to get taken back to the starts, no matter how hard I try." She smiled at Girty as yet another came in. "Oh, welcome Ms Juliette, nice of you to join us," Dia said, watching the Slytherin taking a seat. Dia did enjoy house pride but wondered if all this segregation wasn't a little much sometimes. Not wanting to make a scene out of something that would never be resolved, Dia chose to move the conversation along a little.
"So," she said, smiling at everyone assembled, "I was just wondering, which of the staff do you find the least favourable?" No matter how hard she tried, Dia always spoke as though she had a pole up her behind unless she got highly emotional and she always felt like an idiot doing that. She did love to hear gossip about the teachers at the school from the students, it always had a more bazaar twist.

Ash gave a small laugh, "I know who I find least favorable, Professor Vance!"

Girty nodded her head as Professor Owen as she listed the constellations trying to look like she was actually taking the names onboard by occasionally mouthing them again just to try and make the act look more realistic. Girty was just happy to move the conversation away from that very shaky area and the entrance of more students also helped create a distraction. Girty was so relieved that they were moving away from the topic of professors that she did not even care that Professor Owen had a small playful dig at her about asking about the stars, in fact Girty laughed a small resemblance of the old ’friendship’ the two had had.
Although this did not last as soon Girty was forced to drop eye contact with the Professor and she gave a few small coughs almost sounding as if she was trying to clear her throat but it was the only way Girty could think of showing her nervous energy after the question had been stated. No one had even spoken and Girty was suddenly feeling uncomfortable just waiting for someone (most likely a Slytherin trying to cause some uproar) to mention her brothers name, he was for sure going to be Professor Owens least favourite teacher at the moment and with a question like that no matter how hard Girty tried Professor Owen was becoming hers. Luckily Ashton broke the silence and brought up the name that Girty really should have expected, Professor Vance. There seemed to be a lot hype around the potions professor and he was not the most pleasant of men to be around even on a good day.
“Personally I have never had any trouble with Vance.” Girty stated to the class. “I think he is a grumpy sod and if he actually left the potions room and got some sun light he might actually get a smile on that face of his. But the man demands authority in his lessons and I see nothing wrong with that, if you did prat around and answer back then maybe he would not be so mardy.”
Girty had not been in a potions lesson for some time after Dan made her drop the topic to take up extra charms lessons, but she heard lower years talking in the commonroom and that was the opinion she had come to and was happy to tell anyone who asked.

Ash gave a small laugh, "That is true." He said in response to Girty's opinion. "But personally, I think if he'd stop being such a grouch, maybe students would try harder in his class. No one likes being yelled at, I should know! Maybe if he didn't yell so much, students would actually do the work."

As the oh-so cheerful red head made her way up the stairs, Jac caught the tail end of a conversation and a name that brought a marvelous smile to her face. Finally reaching the Astronomy Tower room, Jac smiled around at everyone who was there, surprised she hadn't heard them too. "Are you kidding me?" was the first thing that tumbled out of the Gryffindor girl's mouth, "it's the shouting that makes his class half the fun."
This statement was particularly amusing to Jac, and would be too to any who knew Jac's current routine of not attenting Vance's classes because of the 'speacial treatment' she got and dished back twice as hard. "Hiya Prof," Jac said as she moved to the seat next to Girty. Nudging the Hufflepuff with her elbow, Jac winked at her.
Looking back to the professor, Jac smiled and said, "In my opinion Fagin's the worst. He's absolutely stark raving mad, of course, making his teaching fun but the smell." Jac pulled a face that suggested she might want the puke just thinking about it. "That's unfavourable!" Jac said the last word with a little mockery in it because it wasn't a term people used when talking about teachers they disliked.

Cristian finally made it up all the stairs so the astronomy tower. After doubling over at the top, and catching his breath he entered the room and saw the professor. Smiling at her, he made his way over to sit next to Ash. "Hello Professor Owen. I fell over, I had to go to the Hospital wing, sorry I'm late"he said, showing his rolled up trouser leg and a fresh bandage on his knee, finally sitting down.

Dia was looking around the class when Ashton spoke. Turning to him, Dia laughed at his choice in teacher. The Astronomy teacher had heard a great many things about days in Professor Vance's class but she had a different view on the man that most seemed to fear and others loathed. Girty piped up in Vance's defence and Dia smiled at her. Dia wanted to say that it was lovely that at least someone didn't feel so about the misunderstood man but now that the class was moving, Dia didn't want to slow it down.
Someone came through the trap door and immediately jumped into the Vance debate. Smiling at the Gryffindor, Dia nodded to her, still aware that her voice may break the charm the talking was making. When Jac spoke about Fagin's smell Dia laughed softly. She had to admit that she had noticed it too but had never wanted to point it out to him for fear of being eaten with a side of rice and gravy at dinner. Dia's mind wondered to Bree and how she liked Fagin and she wondered why but someone said her name.
Looking towards the door, Dia smiled at the Ravenclaw that came in. "Hello Cristian," she said in her usual soft voice. "I am sorry to hear that. I am just glad you came." It was nice that there were more then just three students in her class today and Dia didn't regret the decision not to teach anything. This was a good thing.

Ash smiled, "I have to agree, Fagin is pretty bad. But like Jac said, it's his yelling and ranting that makes the lessons interesting. He turned to Cris, "What about you? Which teacher do you find least favorable?"

As she sat in her spot she couldn't help over hear their conversation sitting there speaking on other professors. She had her opinions none of which she would be silly enough to let slip in a room full of witnesses. In a crowded room you're always bound to find one blabber mouth who would probably love nothing more than to run right up to one of those professors and let them know just what the other students were saying about them. Did they have no common sense. She shook her head figuring this was bad territory as a topic of discussion. Perhaps it was time for class to start all this unnecessary chit chat for what, she thought annoyed. Watching as yet another student walked in and claimed to have fell, too bad she hadn't been in close proximity that would have been quite entertaining. She stifled her laughter. If others could see into her head they would probably be frowning, but no bother at all to her she had thoughts like that all the time it gave her something to do and i made her gleeful in a day plagued by monotony.
