She thought, then murmured, "Clearly you aren't kidding." out loud, her voice apathetic. Time to start all over again! [/ul]

Counting down in his cerebral the time before he actually reached his destination, he couldn’t help but think it would be his last. Mumblings poured from his mouth like a waterfall of words but instead of crashing onto the rocks below, they fell on deaf ears. Twiddling his fingers together, he made his way leisurely strolled down the main entrance and out onto the void of the courtyard of Hogwarts. It had been a very rare occasion that Brandon had seen this little corner of celestial bliss be almost vacant completely, only playing host to two students of who looked like younger years. To engrossed in his own brainwork, he barely noticed them lift their heads to notice his presence in the spiritless familiarity of the stone slabs that made up the courtyard. It was strange to call a part of Hogwarts ‘spiritless’ as it always had some sort of life, but the lack of energy in the castle recently and brought everything to a lifeless halt.
It wasn’t a dare as such, more of a form of his own peer pressure that he was putting himself under, to get rid of this ridiculous and irrational fear of something he had barely heard even heard of, let alone seen with his own two eyes. The thoughts however, of the evil cephalopod rising from the black waters triumphantely to tower over him in a demeaning manner, before swishing about with a terrible force and scooping him up like he was merely a twig that had fallen by the wayside of a nearby tree before being taken into the depths of the murky lake, it’s vice like grip choking him as he drowned underwater...
Hearing a giant splash, he startled out of his daydream before almost flinging himself backwards and running on all fours back to the safety of the four walls of the castle before realising it was just a girl. Taking back a stolen breath, he snapped out of his daze and gazed upon the girl, who seemed to be having a somewhat below par luck today, he brought up a hand to his smirking mouth before walking the few more steps distance between them. “Just be thankful that it isn’t something worse biting your finger” he said, picking up the fallen bucket.

At the sound of a voice nearby Willa looked up and exhaled, puffed up cheeks deflating as she was met with the sight of a boy picking up her fallen bucket and righting it again. "My finger isn't the one I'm worried about." She protested with a small frown. "Its the old git who put me on this job." Well, she'd heard rumors about that 'old git' in question, and apparently she was no old woman at all but someone in disguise. Though Willa couldn't give a toss if she ever saw the chick again, she just needed to get this done incase they were true to their word in the sense they'd be checking up on her, and soon. "And it'd be simply enchanting if you could- whoop!" She had started to move forward through the water towards him, if only perhaps to gain his acquaintance or otherwise, but her naked feet slipped on the, well, slippery, mud at the lake bottom, and Willa went flying back with a large splash into the water. It was exactly three minutes before she resurfaced--though she'd have preferred to stay down there and just drown, if there was any way she could end this bad day quickly--coming straight up and standing there like the grudge chick with her dark brown, pink-streaked hair falling in thick tangles about her, hiding her face. Seaweed hung from her ears and hair, while mud piled on her shoulders. It was then Willa took a deep, exhasperated breath. Suddenly she burst out laughing, sopping wet with lake water as she pried three crabs off the back of her shirt and dropped them in the bucket without so much as a small grin of triumph. No frowns here, surprisingly enough she wasn't even embarrassed. That fact didn't change when suddenly she gasped, reaching into her shirt in the front and tugging a crab out. Staring down at it with a hint of shock as the small welt appeared on her chest, she scolded him before tossing him in, "Ask next time, you pervert." Stupid crab, stuffing his pincers and pinching her bra. At this she laughed again. If the boy hadn't run away already she'd then introduce herself. "I'm the lake hag." She grinned, seaweed still hanging limply and wetly in her hair. "Also known as Willa Abbott. You?" With her addition of four crabs, the bucket was now.. Not empty. Rather devoid of its required content level, but well on its way she supposed. Feeling something nearby she widened her eyes, holding up a finger. "Pause." Glancing into it before dropping down into a crouch and squishing her fingers through the sand and the water, Willa jerked one up with a smirk, letting it fall into the bin before it had the chance to snap her again. Stretching back to her full height the Gryffindor rested her muddy hands on her hips, cocking her hip with a grin. "Continue."[/ul]
