Being mid fall, even the afternoon air was chilly. The sun beat down, only to give a slight warmth. Leaves surrounded Lina as she sat in a small pile of them, overlooking the lake. The way the sun hit it gave Ella a good feeling for an odd reason, and if it had not been so chilly, she would have considered taking a dip, although most were advised not to. Line pulled her striped stocking cap down further over her ears and dark, jet black hair, and held on to the little ball on the right side, dangling down by a knit string. Her great aunt had made this hat for her, and she loved it.
The colors all around were neutral, but still so bright, it could bring a smile to your face.
Lina thought to the time ahead. Christmas break. She would remain at Hogwarts, and the disappointment sank in as she thought of the rest of the students going to join their families for a wonderful time. And the presents they would get. Oh, they would bring them back, telling the others of every detail of all the lovely things they had received.
Holding her head back up to look out across the lake, Lina shut the thoughts out, and tried to think once again positively of all the beauties of Hogwarts that surrounded her.

Kayla frowned as she trudged across the grounds, her dark eyes narrowed at the sunlights harsh rays. She shook her bangs in front of her eyes, hoping that they would block some of the light. They did, but not nearly enough and Kayla let out a low growl of frustration. 'You'd think,' She thought angrily, flicking hair out of her face. 'That with my eyes being so dark they wouldn't be so sensitive.' Kayla winced once more, having made the bad decision to glance upward, and refocused her gaze on the ground.
She had been walking for a little while longer when she finally looked up again and stopped suddenly. Kayla stood for a moment, unsure of whether or not she should continue. After all, she wasn't exactly known for her awesome social skills. In fact, she wasn't well known at all. And even if she was, it would be for her lack of social skills. Kayla thought back on several failed attempts to talk to other children and cringed inwardly. Yes, she was most definitely the undisputed Queen of Social Retardation.
Realizing that she had been standing like this for several moments Kayla swallowed the lump in her throat hastily. "Um, hi there." She said nervously, her smile equally nervous even though the person(whom she was now sure was a girl) could not see her. "You don't mind if I sit here do you?"
