The air was cold as she stepped outside, causing a shiver to run through her. Felicity wrapped her coat tighter around her and shoved her hands into her pockets. Her fingers were already starting to go numb from the cold. But, being outside was better than going back in the school. At least she could escape out here.
Ever since that fateful day when her and Bray walked away from Ash, people had began to treat her differently. She started to become the butt end of hurtful remarks, and there were whispers in the common room of her. Her dorm mates even shot her glares, save her Laney who hadn't been talking to her. Suddenly, Felicity had become the bad guy.
Not only that, but veelas had also been flocking to the school. When she first came here, she always thought of herself as different, because of what she was. Now she couldn't even go to her classes each day without sensing some veela near her. The fact that there were so many was unnerving because not all followed her strict policy of 'no charming'.
This term was turning out to be worse than the last, and her nerves were already shot. The good part of this was the fact that she still had Ellie, and Bray, who seemed to stick with her through all of this. Though she never said it, she truly appreciated having friends like them. There seemed to be too few in this world.
With a sigh, Felicity plopped down on one of the benches and leaned her head back. She blinked up at the cloudy sky, not even flinching as a rumble of thunder passed through. Rain started to fall from the sky, and they showered over her, soaking her to the bone. Yet, Fay didn't move. She just sat there, staring up at the sky and letting the rain fall on top of her.
Her father had always said that rain was used to help thing to bring new life. To wash away any problems. It could wash away sadness. And right about now, Fay found herself wishing for the rain to just wash away all of the problems, and return her life back to normal.
