It was late, nearing midnight. Ash knew he would be in trouble, were he caught out after curfew. Yet, this did not faze him. He had to get out, away from the stifling rules of the castle. The raven-haired boy lay on his back, cloak bunched up underneath his head, sapphire eyes staring up at the stars. There were thousands of them, more than anyone could ever hope to count, glittering like diamonds against the black velvet of the sky. A cool breeze blew from the lake, stars reflected their light upon its shimmering surface. Suddenly, Ash heard noises, footsteps. His heart pounded in anticipation, he took deep breaths to calm himself, it was most likely just another student sneaking about...

The stars were so bright tonight, it was almost unbelievable. There was even a full moon, which shone brightly on Hogwarts. Through the window of her dorm, Olivia could gaze thoughtfully out at the stars, trying to imprint it's beauty into her mind. How could anything create something as beautiful as night? It was uncanny to think of.
To be honest, her day had been rather slow today. She had only seen fleeting glances of Gray, he seemed rather busy lately. Liv found herself missing their conversations. He somehow understood her so well, that she couldn't help but crave his company. Gray found a way to put a crack in her shell, surprising as it was. A faint blush was brought to her cheeks as she thought about him.
It was hard, knowing that you liked someone but they probably didn't like you back. Olivia mentally scolded herself for getting in too deep with him. What if she did, or said something to ruin their friendship? She just had to suppress her feelings for now, and move on with their normal, friend-like relationship.
It was then, when she was remembering the time when Gray had taken her out for a midnight picnic, that she came up with a bold idea. Why not sneak out? She could see the stars so much better then. Oh dear, it seemed Gray was really rubbing off on her. He was bringing out her rebellious side.
Olivia waited until her dorm mates were asleep before she fled out of the common room. It was easy to make it out of the school, mostly because she was almost silent when she walked. A rush of cool air met her as she walked outside, and a grin washed over her face. She inhaled a deep breath, relishing the smell of the night air.
Liv walked further down the lawns, nearing the lake. She decided to go sit in her usual spot, that place was always the best for looking at the cloud. So, couldn't the same principle apply to the stars? As she neared, Olivia noticed someone else laying down in the same spot. Her heart lept, and she was even blushing in the dark. It was foolish of her to suspect Gray, if anything the dark hair would be a tip off.
The Puff walked further down to her spot and cleared her throat softly to announce her presence. It was another student, obviously, no teacher looked that young. After announcing herself, she sat down fluidly next to the person. As she did so, she noticed it was Ashton Laurent --formerly McLane-- that had also decided to get out on a little nighttime adventure.
"The stars are beautiful tonight aren't they?" Liv murmured softly, and she tilted her head back to gaze up at them.

Ash sighed a quiet sigh of relief, it was merely a student. He had nothing to fear, he nodded at her words. "They are." he agreed in soft voice. He turned his head to look at her, sapphire eyes twinkling just like the stars above them. "What brings you out here?" he asked, voice just barely above a whisper as he folded his arms underneath his head. Looking back up at the sky, he marveled at the vastness of it, each star seemed to give off its own internal glow, the full moon bathed the lake and grounds in its ethereal glow.
