Carolanne looked at Fay wide-eyed then grinned, "Oh come on, you know I'd never mean it!" Laney knew Fay wasn't insane, well... scratch that. They all were a little insane.
Laney gasped in surprise, "No fair! So you can kid but I can't? How does that work?" she said in a laugh. They both knew the other was kidding and it was nice to laugh with someone for a change.
Fay had said something completely true. Max made it hard to hate him. She didn't hate him, but her and Fay knew that, she just hated that she hadn't talked to him in a while. Her facial expressions had changed drastically. "I think he's hiding from me, you know?" Laney spoke with a rather sad smile.

"Hey, I said I was kidding didn't I? Gosh Laney, you need to work on your listening skills." Felicity laughed and flicked the girl's nose lightly. Just keep her laughing, Fay told herself, you need to help cheer her up.
"Aw Laney, don't say that. I don't think he's avoiding you." She wrapped one arm around the girl's shoulders. "He just needs some time to think, a lot of stuff has happened. Not everyone can just take that so easily. Well, only probably one person in the world can, but that's not the point right now."

"Yeah, yeah. I heard you," she said smacking the girls had away from her nose. "And my listening skills are fine, thank you very much, I just chose to not listen," she said with a laugh. "Selective hearing, works like a charm." She knew what Fay was doing. Distracting her. Trying to get her mind off things. It was working.
Laney gave a sad sigh, "Yeah, but it still makes me a little uneasy. I know he's going through the exact same thing I am, if not more but..." Lane paused, "I guess I just wanted him to comfort me. Sometimes I feel like I'm going through this mess alone, and in an way, I am."

Felicity pouted as Laney smacked her hand. "Meanie!" She laughed at her mention of 'selective hearing'. "I should've known! Bray suffers from the same exact thing." Fay rolled her eyes and pouted again. "You don't want to hear my words of wisdom?"
Fay's eyebrows knit together instantly. She turned Laney's head toward hers, making sure that the girl was looking at her. "Don't you ever say that you're in this alone. Because you're not. I'm here for you, and I bet Maxi still is too. You will never be alone, alright?"

When Fay mentioned that Bray had selective hearing, she laughed, "Yes well, it works well when dealing with Ash. I'm sure Bray would agree with me on that one." Laney said that statement with a slight nod. It was indeed great when dealing with her brother.
Carolanne looked at Fay and gave a small smile, "Thank you, Fay." She knew now Fay would be there for her, but she was still unsure on how to take that. Both Fay and Ash were friends, she didn't want this to rip them apart.
