Felicity shook her head and ran her hand through her hair. Why couldn't life just be normal? All this drama was going to make her go prematurely gray or something. Either that or someone would suffer a serious brain injury from her bludger attacks. There had to be a better way for her to get out her frustration.
Now, she wasn't really one to listen to rumors, but this one had really caught her attention. Laney and Maxi? No, that couldn't happen. Maxi still liked Ash right? And Laney was going with Cris. This was improbable! But, Fay could sense something from Laney as she walked into the dorm that night. Oh dear.
Fay needed to confront the girl to see if the rumors were true. If they were, then she'd have to go bust some heads. Well, maybe not that extreme, but the anger was there. She groaned and slumped down on a bench.
Maybe Laney would just happen to walk outside. It would be easier, and less awkward, for her to just come out so Fay wouldn't go stomping around the school looking for her.

Carolanne had been walking through the schools trying to stray away from the glares she was receiving. She could hear them all, every word and they didn't even attempt to shut up when she came near. "I can't believe she'd do that?" "What was she thinking?" "Poor Ashy." "Poor Cristian." She could hear every single word. Gossip... the contagious disease that infects almost every teenager.
She needed air, freedom from these stone walls that created her prison. She needed Maxi more than ever right now but she'd never admit it. She was stubborn, always saying she could take care of her own. God, what she wouldn't give to be back at home. Being in the same house as Daniel sounded like heaven compared to this.
The courtyard. Her sanctuary. It was quite here and looked abandoned. She was just about the make her way to her usual bench when an unsuspecting person caught her eye. Run, her body was telling her. She couldn't. Fay already knew, how couldn't she? With a sigh, she shoved her hands in her pockets and approached her, "I need a friend," she simply said.

Felicity had been fighting with herself all morning. Part of her wanted to just yell and scream at the pair, but her sensible side quickly overshadowed that. She couldn't just yell at them. They were her friends, and they didn't hate her when she did stupid things.
Fay had half a mind to talk to Ash about it, to get his side. But, when she tried to confront him, she instantly backed down. Just standing near him gave her arm goosebumps, and that only meant one thing. His feeling of lust was strong, but not for her. She didn't even want to know, so she just ran. And, ironically, she ran out here, to find peace.
"I need a friend."
The veela blinked and looked up. There stood Laney, hands in her pockets and a miserable expression on her face. Fay felt her heart clench and she patted the spot next to her. "I heard the rumors Laney, and by your expression I guess they're true."
Felicity leaned back on the bench and leaned her head back. She sighed and rubbed her eyes. "I think I knew this would happen. I probably should've seen this coming. Half of me wants to just scream at you for hurting Ash, but that's slowly dimming." Fay shut her eyes and just waited for Laney to say something, anything.

She didn't know how it had gotten so out of hand, then again, she didn't exactly plan on kissing Maxi or Cristian walking in at just the wrong moment or even hurting Ashton. Laney didn't mean for any of it to happen but she wasn't sorry that it did happen. And it did happen, right? Of course, why else would she be the talk of the whole school.
Carolanne sighed heavily and stared down at the spot next to Fay. She blinked slowly, unsure on whether or not to sit. Her mind and body were now two separate things. She could be yelling at herself to run in the opposite direction as fast as she could but her body wouldn't listen. She wasn't surprised when she found herself sitting there.
She placed her hands over her face and took a deep breath before running her hands through her blond hair. She nodded before speaking. Once again, her body being completely independent, "All true," she muttered. "Guess that doesn't make them rumors anymore," she said forcing out a short laugh.
Great, even Fay thinks you're horrible! Shut up, you! Great, was she just as crazy as Maxi now? She wouldn't be surprised if she was. "I've yelled at myself enough for hurting him," she said before turning her gaze to the veela, "But I'm not sorry for doing what I did, and even you know that." Laney sighed and closed her eyes. When she opened them, she was still in the courtyard and Fay was still in front of her. "Ugh," she said with a shake of her head.

Felicity felt Laney sit down next to her. Well, that was a start. The girl still trusted Fay, and that somehow made her feel a bit better. No matter what anyone said, her friend was hurting. She couldn't just stand back and shout at her, or just watch her be tormented. That wasn't who Felicity Locke was.
"Sometimes we just can't help feeling how we do. It's something no amount of our magic can change." It didn't help that Felicity could feel every small amount of love if someone liked another. A gift and a curse. That's how she often refered to the fact that she was a veela.
"You really like him though. I know." She looked back over to Laney, trying to not wince at the girl's devestated expression. "I'm happy that you make each other happy, but I'm not looking forward to the mess this will cause." Fay sighed and rested her head back again. "I don't hate you at all Laney."
All these feelings, they were everywhere. Usually, Felicity could supress them to some amount, but this time they just hurt. Every time she saw a couple walk by, she winced internally. And, that final moment when she saw Ash was too much. It made her feel sick, and her face was even paler than before. That was one emotion that she had no tolerance for.

Carolanne stared up at the walls of the school. There were occasional peeps through the window down at her. What the? I can't even get away for a minute! I swear... Laney could barely take it. She was to the point that she'd hex the next person that looked at her wrong. What was so wrong about kissing a guy? For God sake's Grow up people! she wanted to shout at them all.
Lane sighed and looked at Fay, her eyes pleading for help. This was a mess only Laney and Maxi could fix together but she needed advice, guidance. Fay was always there for her. "I know. But..." she couldn't even finish her sentence. What was she supposed to say to that? She wanted magic to desperately change the situation... go back in time and stop Maxi and Ash from meeting. If it wasn't for them getting together, Laney would've never met him.
Carolanne nodded, "I do like him," she started, "And he does make me happy," she continued. Laney inhaled and exhaled. It was nice knowing someone didn't hate you. "Well, you're like the only one," she said biting her lip.
If this was how Laney was feeling right now, she didn't even want to know how Maxi was feeling. Maxi, there he was again in her mind. God, how she wished she could comfort him, or him comfort her...

Felicity followed Laney's gaze, and found herself staring at one of the windows of the school. Constant heads bobbed in and out of view as girl took a peek then ducked down to gossip with their friends. Fay's hand clenched. Why couldn't they just leave them alone?
"Oy!" She stood, one hand on her hip, and glared up at the window. "Go mind your own business! I know it's hard for you, but there are other hobbies besides gossiping!" Fay flopped back down beside Laney and muttered a curse under her breath. Freaking annoying is what those girls were.
There was that feeling again. Laney must be thinking about Maxi again. Felicity turned her head away, pretending that something caught her attention. She used this moment to hide her wince.

Carolanne couldn't help but laugh as Fay confronted the horrid girls. Was this what is was going to be like for a while? What have I done, she thought to herself as she cradled her face in her hands once more. She was happy to have someone to talk with at least. Not everyone left her.
Laney looked at Fay as she turned away rather quickly, "Oh no! I'm sorry!" she knew exactly what had happened. Fay had told her earlier that she could sense feelings of longing. She had felt them when she was with Cris, though Laney's feelings weren't directed at him exactly, they never were.
She brought a hand to her forehead and made a rather odd face. She had to stop thinking of him, at least for now. Fay wasn't much help this way. "God, I'm so stupid," she told the young veela. "Fay, please. Don't hate Maxi. It was all my doing, not his." Laney couldn't have Fay be mad at Max. They had known each other longer after all.

Seems she noticed. Guh! Fay was never good at hiding things like that. Stupid psycho veela powers. It was bad enough in the hallway when she caught two people snogging. Felicity surpressed a shudder.
"It's not your fault. I don't want you to go extra lengths to make me feel better. We're talking about you now, not me."
She glanced over at Laney and gave her a small smile. Fay would just get used to it at some point, like with Maxi and Ash, and Bray and El. She always got over it in the end. Of course, she had to. If her friends were constantly worrying over her and her emotions, they wouldn't have any time for themselves.
"I don't hate him either. I can't just hate my friends, it's not that simple."
Fay shook her head and looked back over to Laney. "If you two are happy, then I'll try to support you. Just try not to get all googly-eyed around me alright? I might faint or something." She laughed.

Sometimes Laney wondered how Fay could be so understanding. She knew the girl was strong, but one day she'd probably crack from all the drama. Carolanne definitely didn't want to be the cause of that. "I'd rather you feel better at the moment that way you'll be able to give me proper advice," she said joking with the girl. Fay always gave useful advice and Laney was grateful for that. Felicity was always there for her friends.
Laney nodded, "You have no idea how much happier you made me with that statement." She gave a sigh of slight relief. Fay was a real friend and she realized that now.
"Just try not to get all googly-eyed around me alright? I might faint or something."
Laney laughed at her statement, "I assure you, no googly-eyes," she said holding up her middle and index fingers, "Scouts Honors."

"Me? Give proper advice? Bullarky. If I'm the person you come to for advice you need to see a therapist or something."
Felicity grinned at Laney and nudged her arm. The girl didn't need any of Fay's so called 'advice', she just needed a friend to understand her. And a friend who could actually be normal with her.
"Oh well, we can't beat Scouts' Honor now can we?" Fay snorted softly and patted Laney on the head. "Eh, I'll get over it. But I hope you know that this gives me the full power to tease the two of you." She grinned wickedly and tapped her nose.
"Be afraid, be very afraid."

Carolanne gave a short laugh, "I'm going to have to see a psychiatrist just for talking to you!" Humor, first sign that Laney was starting to feel a bit better. At least Fay had managed to bring that out in her. It was usually the hardest.
Laney did need a friend and she had found one in Fay. She was expecting a few hexes and a lot of screaming when she first saw her, but you must never judge someone when you're own emotions are out of wack. If everyone did that, the whole school would be afraid of everyone.
Full power to tease us? Hopefully she'd wait until they were completely sure of what they were going to do about the so called situation. "Alright, just... eh... wait for a bit before you do so, please. I'm not certain how Maxi would react to that and honestly, I'm a bit afraid.

"Of course! Because an air of insanity just follows me everywhere. It gets rather annoying when you're talking to someone and they suddenly start to speak jibberish." Felicity sighed dramatically.
It was easy for Fay to just try to make Laney feel comfortable, and to hide her own battling emotions. Yelling and screaming at her wouldn't do anything but cause more tears. Nobody needed that at the moment, there was enough drama already going on.
"Don't worry, I'll wait till this all blows over. And it's not like I'm going to be mean or anything. Just a little comment here and there." Fay pouted, jutting out her lower lip. "Did you honestly think I was that cruel? I'm hurt Laney."

Carolanne looked at Fay and gave an odd grin, "Have you ever thought that maybe you were the one talking jibberish? Who knows! Maybe you're the crazy one," she said laughing.
Carolanne was laughing and joking. She couldn't beleive it was her actually laughing but it was. Laney smiled.
Lane nudged Fay, "Oh, come on. You knew what I meant. I didn't mean to hurt you! And no, you're not cruel at all. I just don't want to hurt Max anymore than he already is."

"Me, insane? How could you say such a thing!" Felicity gasped and turned her head away. "You're so cruel to me Laney! Cruel! Why must you torment me so?"
Fay turned back to Laney and grinned. "Kidding, kidding. You know I love you!"
"Don't worry, I won't hurt Maxi. It's too hard to hate him anyway." She snickered and rolled her eyes again. "The man makes it impossible for you to stay mad at anyone."
