[Girty Hubbles]

The kiss…it was the most amazing kiss Girty had ever had, even when she was old and had many more years of life experience under her belt Girty would look back on that kiss and smile. She was sure that at that moment in time she could cast the worlds greatest patronus as she was happier then she had ever felt in her entire life. And this happiness was only increased when Alex looked at her and said the words she had been waiting for for so many years.

‘Be mine?’

Girty did not think it possible but she choked on her laugh, she could not actually breath. Every emotion seemed to want to escape at the same time. She was trying to laugh but every time it almost escaped it was overwhelmed by the want to cry, she started to look like a fish out of water gasping for her, her mouth would open and close with very little noise coming out. She actually had to remove one of her arms around Alex’s neck to cover her face with her shaking hand in hope to compose herself, and then slowly as the rush of emotion slowly began to subside Girty was able to nod her head and took her hand away from her mouth.

“Yes…yes.”

She started to laugh once again and embraced Alex in the tightest embrace she could mange thinking that now she had told him her answer he would turn and run. But then Alex never struck Girty as one who had a fear of commitment, if anything it would be her. By saying yes to Alex she now had to end it with Simon and she would have to do it tonight, but for now would not let that thought bother her she had much more pleasant things to think about and to look at.

Looking up at Alex Girty could not hide her smile, her cheeks had started to hurt and as they had not been used to this much smiling in a very long time. She was sure that the people around them were thinking that the two were completely insane, particularly the girl who seemed to be laughing and crying at the same time.

“You know what…I never actually thought you would ask.”

Alex looked down at her, he had asked and now could do nothing but wait for an answer, though the suspense was killing him. Laughing, was that a good sign, or a bad one. You would have thought Alex would be used to this by now, it wasnt as though he was new at asking out girls, but this time was different, and he knew it was because he harboured deeper feelings for Girty, than anyone before her. He was holding out his heart to her now, nothing was protecting it anymore, and she would either break it here and now, or let it join with hers, it was just the question of which one, and the longer she made Alex wait, the harder he found it to breathe.

He watched nervously as she opened her mouth to speak, decided against it and closed it again. This was never a good sign, or at least in Alex's experiance's it wasnt. If your going to blow me off, just tell me! He thought desperatly to himself, watching as she covered her face with her shaking hand, everything slowed down.

Nod. His heart skipped.

Removed her hand from her mouth, His throat went dry.

'Yes...Yes' Her answer.

Alex laughed. He couldnt help it, he laughed with plain happiness. He returned her embrace and hugged her tight, though not too tight, he didnt want to hurt her. Alex felt as though he could jump from the Astronomy tower and fly. She was his, finally after seven long years he could tell the world that he's got the most beautiful girl in the world. His Princess. Afterall, after Jac had said that to him in the forest, he realised she was his princess, and nothing would ever change that. Alex was still aware Girty was with Simon, but he had the feeling she wouldnt be for much longer.

"I never thought you wanted to me to ask"

He looked down at Girty, planting a soft kiss on her, he smiled. The smile they both had seemed to stick with them. He didnt care about the people watching them, for now, Alex was the happiest guy in Hogwarts, even an increasing happiness spell wouldnt do a single thing to him, as he was already the happiest he could ever be.

Girty continued to just stare at Alex, her heart filled with so much joy that she actually did not know how to express it. Laughing and smiling did not seem to be enough, for Girty it was six years of hidden feelings finally being let lose and it was too much for one person to cope with. She had a feeling that Alex was going through the same emotions as she was merely from his wide smile and the gleam in his eyes.
When he mentioned that he did not think that she wanted him to ask her she could not help but smirk at him. If he had asked her in the second year she would have flung herself at him and most likely given him the most awkward kiss in the world. But now, well it would be safe to say they were both experienced in this area and so it came more naturally to them both.

“I think the gods wanted us to wait. Although the years have been torment for the both of us” Mainly poor Alex. “The joy that is inside of me…I …”

Alex cut Girty short by kissing her once more, her heart fluttered and she could not help but kiss him back. So long they had waited for this moment and now it was here Girty really did not want to let it go. She kissed Alex almost longing for the beautiful silence to remain between them, where they could stay in each others embrace and look into each others eyes for eternity. But the sun had started to drop in the sky and if she was going to end it with Simon that night she would have to get word to him quickly. So we a regretful sigh Girty looked up at Alex.

“I should go and send an owl to Simon, get him to meet me at the pub tonight where….where I will end it.”

It was almost a relief to say it once again and it felt like a weight off her chest, although she still feared the actually moment she had to tell Simon that she was now with Alex. Leaning in again Girty kissed Alex one more time before stepping away, the smile was still upon her face and as she clung onto his hand for as long as possible.

“Met me in Hogsmeade tomorrow, at the hill…say around midday?”

She gave Alex a flirtatious smile and with one last look at her charming, caring, amazing Ravenclaw Girty slowly turned around and walked off to the Owlery with a smile upon her face and spring in her step.
