She should've known. Somehow, she should've seen this happening. It had happened so many times before, and she didn't even realize it! Fay felt stupid, and used, and utterly pissed off.
He had used her. It was as simple as that. Everything she did for him always put her into more trouble, but she delt with it because Felicity actually believed that Ashton was a true honest to goodness friend. She helped the boy since he first came to this school, and he didn't even appreciate any of it. All of this was just a lie.
Felicity had run to her favorite tree by the lake, relieved to find that it was empty. Most people had gone off to eat, so the place was vacant. Before Fay ran out here, she had found Ellie and told her that she would have to postpone the study session until lady. And El, bless her heart, had totally understood and just grinned at Fay. Now there was a true friend.
Fay had brought her knees up to her chest and was just staring out at the Lake. She hadn't began crying, as she first expected. Felicity had seen his broken face in the back of her mind, and somehow she saw that to be like a kid who just found out that his favorite toy had been broken. But, in the end, he would get over it. It would probably take only a few moments.

Bradyn pretty much left the Great Hall and headed straight for the lake. There were only a couple places that an upset Fay would go, one of them being the forest, and the other being the lake. Quite different than his selection of the dungeons with his guitar, or the owlery with his guitar. 'Maybe that's because the guitar makes me happy.' He thought with a bit of amusement.
Bray pulled his robes around him when he stepped outside. It was oddly chilly, as if the weather decided to change to fit the occasion. Spying Fay by her usual tree, he walked over and sat next to her, placing an arm around her shoulder.
"You couldn't have known that's how he felt," He said quietly with a small smile. "I guess that we figured he was a smart Ravenclaw. We were both wrong.." Bray frowned and squeezed her shoulder a bit as he bit down on his lower lip. Well, if their old group of friends were now crazy and heartless.. what would they do? He realized that he would have to talk to her about that, eventually, but now was definitely not the time.
Bray looked down at the ground, rather embarrassed at the question he would ask her. It seemed to randomly pop in his head, and needed to be asked. "Fay.. did they really like each other? Or were they just replacing the person they missed most? Can you even tell that?"

If anyone knew Felicity well, they would know exactly where to find her. The forest she had ruled out a while ago, after the accident with her friends. Her dorm was out, because Laney might be in there. So, that left her spot by the lake.
Fay glanced over to Bray as he rested an arm around her shoulders. A small part of her sort of knew that Bray would be the one to run after her, instead of being there for Ash. Him and Ash always got into fights about the littlest of things. More than half of the time she wondered if it was her fault that they stuck around each other.
"I just can't believe it." She shook her head. "I just always thought that I was actually helping him, doing everything I did." Fay didn't care what characteristics the houses were supposed to have. If a friend helped you as much as Felicity did for Ashton, they should at the least recieve some form of gratitude.
Fay laughed a bit at Bray's next question. Always the curious one wasn't he? Hmm, maybe that's another reason why his animagus was a cat. She thought over it a bit, and a blush crept up her cheeks for a moment. "Well, a lot of it was lust, I could definitely see that." Felicity bit down on her lower lip, thinking. "But, a person could force themselves to see that they love a person. If you believe that they were actually the ones you loved, you could go into a sort of an ignorant state." She shrugged lightly. "I can't tell the difference between that and the real thing."

Bradyn frowned a bit at Fay. It was rather rude of Ash to just say so plainly that he thought she was useless, but maybe she was over-reacting a little too much. "You were helping him, Fay.. he just.. didn't notice." He said, rather lamely. It was the truth, what else was he supposed to say? It's ok, your just overreacting; Ash really does appreciate you. No! That would be a lie.
Bray stuck out his tongue a bit and made a face when she described their relationship as lustful, sometimes he was just a bit too cat-like. 'Lust is not love, but I will not make their relationship my business.' He thought, realizing that he wouldn't be a good relationship counselor anyway. He was too blunt, and too careless with his words. "Ignorance, eh? Sounds like that would describe Ash pretty well, but I guess I won't judge them." He said quietly, knowing that he didn't really believe what he said.
"Fay.. tell me what you're thinking." He said, turning his head to face her and squeezing her shoulder gently again in hopes to comfort her. Bray thought she looked like she hadn't been crying, but knowing her it was only a matter of time that she could hold it in. "You going to forgive Ash, and go back to him so he could hurt you again? Or are you going to hurt Ash, and move on so he can't hurt you?"

Felicity rested her forehead on her knees as Bray spoke. Didn't notice? Was that boy so ignorant that he couldn't notice someone trying to help him? It was certainly possible, but it didn't make her feel any better.
Fay shuddered when she thought about it again. That emotion was the worst to feel second hand. For her at least, some other veelas might enjoy it. But it just twisted Fay's stomach in knots and made her feel rather queesy.
"I don't know." She murmured softly, shutting her eyes again. "On one hand, I could be selfless and still help him with his troubles, but then I'll get the short end of the stick again. On the other, I could be selfish and save myself, but at the cost of him being crushed again." Felicity shook her head again.
"I don't know what to do Bray."

Bradyn frowned a bit as Fay just seemed to grow more depressed. Well, wasn't he good at cheering people up? But he decided that he ought to get her thinking before he turned back into the random idiot that she loved. Get the worst part over first, and then she could feel better about herself. Bray hugged her a little tighter after she shuddered. Maybe lust was as nasty as the dictionary definition described it to be? Or getting second-hand lust would probably not be fun. 'Being a veela must be a pain, I'd get fed up with it. At least with my little cat jokes, I enjoy hearing them.'
"I think that if you keep being so... selfless, if you wish to put it that way, you'll just be known for being a pushover." He said, simply stating the truth. "Do what you feel is right, and don't let Ash sway you from what you think." Bray was going to be stern with her today, since usually he was just lax and didn't really care if Fay stretched herself thin trying to help everyone. As soon as Ash hurt her, he knew that it would be his job to take better care of his special friend.
"Don't even let my biased opinions sway you. Just know that where you go, I will follow. I won't leave you, you know that." He laughed a bit. "I'm too attached to your hip to live without you, Fay!"
