It was a beautiful day outside and Laney couldn't stand wasting it inside. It wasn't exactly early in the morning, nor was it quite afternoon. The time was ten o'clock am as Carolanne trudged along to the Lake. She was wearing a pair of bright pink pajama pants, fuzzy black slippers and Cristian's shirt; her hair was pulled up in a messy bun. She had grabbed a book about Anne Boleyn that she was determined to read during this school year along with Amour to keep her company.
She found a rather large rock not far from the lake's shore. Laney pulled herself up the rock and dusted off her hands before sitting down and opening the book. Alot had happened for her already and she just needed to escape the havoc going on in the common room. She flipped each page once it was read while Ami made an effort to pounce on every single lady bug.

Jeremy had spent the early morning by the lake. By nine o'clock, he was outside. It was the best time, the fog coming off the lake gave a damp air that made Jeremy smile. It was peaceful. No could bother him in the fog, actually no one could see him.
By ten o'clock the fog had lifted, as Jeremy had done off the ground he was sitting on. He headed back up, but spotted a rather pink thing walking down toward the beach. He almost didn't recognize the girl. It was the only he had briefly met in the corridor before Ash had swiped at him with his claws.
Jeremy hadn't really had a chance to talk to the girl since then. he'd seen her once canoodleing in the hall with the boy who had caught her. Jeremy had seen that his chance of swooning her had been taken and hadn't really looked out for her. However, he saw her alone, getting up on a rock. He smiled. Friend was better than nothing.
Jeremy walked over to the girl, he leaned up against the rock and said: "Forget to get dressed this morning?" He said with a smile, noticing the strange outfit she had on. He himself was dress nice and sharp, even this early. He couldn't imagine not being dressed and leaving the common room. However, he smiled at her, finding what she was wear slightly funny.

Carlanne had just finished the first chapter when a voice had interrupted mid sentence. She looked up, or rather down, at the boy leaning against the rock. With a soft, "Huh?" she looked down at her pink pajama pants then at Jeremy's spiffy neat outfit, "Oh, I uh- I find this more comfortable," she explained with a smile.
Laney closed her book and set it aside, careful not to let it fall off the rock. She folded her hands and placed them on her lap, "Jeremy Wheller, what are you doing following me around?" she joked with him. She had recognized the look in his eye when they first met and what Ash had told her about him, he seemed like a ladies man. Now when she looked at him, he seemed a little different. Carolanne smiled sweetly down at him. A new friend never hurt even if it was a guy that was trying to swoon her at first.

"Looks...uh, very comfortable." Jeremy said with a smile, laughing on the inside. As comfortable as it might be, Jeremy was sure that he could never be relaxed in sweats or pajamas outside the common room. He would feel as though everyone would think of him as a sloppy loser. He was not sloppy and hardly a loser.
"Well," Jeremy said, lifting himself up onto the rock sitting next to the other Ravenclaw. "I saw something blindingly pink from over yonder and I had to see who was daring to wear such a happy color at this time of the morning."
Jeremy smiled at her, and took the book out of her lap and looked at the cover. He flipped through the book, the pages making flapping noises as they hit each other. "Any good?" He asked. He was always on the look out for a new book to read.

Carlanne looked down at him and made a fake pout, "Making fun, are we?" she said turning the pout into a grin. She didn't understand why someone would dress up so nice everyday. "And for the record, I might add that this attire is completely comfortable," she said moving over as Jeremy pulled himself up the rock.
Laney nodded her head at his explanation, "Well, if you obviously haven't noticed, I dare to be different," she said picking up Ami and setting her on her lap.
As Jeremy took her book, Laney glanced over at him. He didn't seem so stuck-up as she heard. With a smile she leaned over and peered at the book. "So far it's alright, if you like learning about history. Anne Boleyn is a very interesting woman. You can borrow it when I'm done with it, if you like," she said to him.

Ash yawned slightly as he walked down to the lake, it was a lazy sort of day, the kind of day that just made you want to lie around and do nothing. And that was exactly what he was going to do! Reaching the lake he saw his sister, and Jeremy. "Hey Laney." He said greeting his sister with a hug. "Hey Jeremy." he nodded to the other boy.

"Of course I'm making fun." Jeremy said with a smirk. "Your an easy target!" It was true. How could one not take a chance to comment on those pants or the fact that it was late morning and she was still in them, outside, by the lake. It was a wide window that Jeremy just had to throw as baseball at.
"Different, ohhh. That what you call it." Jeremy said, laughing, getting comfortable on the rock, if that was possible. He doubted it.
History was good. Jeremy smiled, "Was she hot?" He said jokingly. He didn't really care, he had heard of her of course. He did live in London all his life, he had been to the tower of London once or twice. Anne Boleyn was thought to be a witch by the muggles, so she was almost magic history. "Yea,h I'd like that." He said with a smile, handing the book back over to her.
Just as the book was taken from his hands, Jeremy saw another person coming out of the corner of his eye. Ashton. Jeremy did in inaudible sigh, not letting Carolanne see his grief at her severely over protective brother coming to join them. However, he smiled as he reached the two and gave his sister a hug. Jeremy extended a hand and smiled at Ash. "Nice to see you again Ash." Jeremy said, knowing that Ash wasn't to fond of him to begin with.

Laney gasped making an effort to act offended by his comment, "Yeah well," she said looking at him, "You're too perfect. How's that for an insult," she said before breaking out in a laugh. Laney wasn't the one to insult someone, unless it was call for but she liked joking with Jeremy it was almost fun.
Carolanne shook her head, "Yes. Different is what I call it. I'm different compared to you while you are different compared to me," she said with a smirk.
Laney thought for a moment to his question, "I guess you could say she was. She sort of looked a little like me, I think. So if I'm considered Hot, then yes, I'd say so," she said sending him a slight wink. Once again, Laney was joking around with the guy. She didn't want to give him mixed signals, she did have a boyfriend after all and she was happy with him... wasn't she?
Laney turned at the sound her footsteps as her brother approached. She smiled and returned the hug, "Ash, what are you doing out here? You're one to sleep in," she joked.

"Oh, well you think I'm perfect." Jeremy said, sitting up straighter and putting on a dashing grin. "I happen to agree with you." He said, with a laugh. He didn't really think he was perfect, though he did try and fool everyone that he was. He wasn't all that stuck up, kinda.
"Really, We're so different." Jeremy smiled putting her to the test. "Ok, give me your favorite color, favorite food, favorite music, and favorite thing about me." He said with a smile.
"Oh, she was definitely hot then." Jeremy said with a wide smile, looking straight at Laney, taking in the wink. Jeremy had to take a second to realize that she had a boy friend. Jeremy had seen them everywhere, she obviously liked this guy she was with. But still... "So tell me about this boy friend of yours. Cristian..or whatever his name is? You guy certainly don't mind a little P.D.A. in the halls." Jeremy said with a smirk, making fun of her, but all in good fun.
"Yeah, Ash, What are you doing out here?" Jeremy asked, slightly annoyed. He just showed up whenever he was talking to Carolanne. It was getting annoying. Jeremy wondered if he could punt the kid into the lake, but then thought that it would probably lose him his friendship with Laney.

Ash smirked, "Just out for a walk. Happened to see Laney, came over to say hi. Got a problem with that?"Ash glanced between Laney and Jeremy, eyes narrowing in suspicion. Deciding that it was none of his business, he turned his attention to his sister, "Ainsi la soeur la plus chère, voudriez-vous me dire pourquoi ma blouse préférée, aussi bien que mon eye-liner et jean préféré manque?"

Carolanne couldn't help but laugh at Jeremy as he sat up straighter and grinned widely, "Don't go getting a big head about it, though," she said as she shook her head. It was the truth after all, guys seemed to get bigger heads the more you complemented them.
What is this guy up to? Lane looked at him and raised her eyebrow slightly. "Favorite color is a light blue, favorite food is definitely lemon-peppered chicken and I listen to all types of music. There's too much music, I can't like just one kind," she answered. When it came to the last part, she had to think, "My favorite thing about you?" Carolanne giggled a bit, "Um, I'm not so sure yet. Could be you're dashing looks, or it could be that you always seem to be following me," she said joking with him once more. "I really can't answer that yet. We've only just met."
Jeremy had mentioned Cristian and instantly her smile faded. They weren't doing so good, or at least she didn't think so. He wasn't what she wanted. Laney shrugged, "Cristian's alright, I suppose," she said starting down at her book. She didn't exactly have anything smart and witty to bite back with so she just left it at that.
Carolanne turned to Ashton, "Well, a little crabby I see," she said with a grin, joking with her brother. "Je les ai pris," she answered. "They're in my trunk if you want them so bad," she finished.
[[Translation: I took them]]

Ash glared at his sister, "Vous les avez pris? Le soin pour me dire pourquoi vous les avez pris?"
((You took them? Care to tell me why you took them?))

Jeremy smiled as she listed off her favorites, interrupting her as she said each one. "Why, blue is my favorite color!" he said. "I enjoy lemon peppered chicken." he added. "I listen to everything too." He smirked. "I happened to enjoy my dashingly good looks also." He smiled. "Well, I believe we have a ton in common. Maybe I should follow you more often." He said with a smile. "So , I guess we aren't so different after all." The Ravenclaw boy said, leaning back, the rock digging into his back. "Oh," Jeremy said, seeing that she didn't seem to happy about her boyfriend at the moment. "Well, do you need me to beat him up?" Jeremy said, hoping to make her smile again.
Jeremy smiled at Ash. He really hadn't meant any harm. He was just getting annoyed with the fact that everytime he ended up talking to Carolanne, her brother was not far off. It was hard to create a friendship with a looming brother over head. "No. Its a free country." Jeremy said, trying to keep the mood light.
Off they went in French. Jeremy couldn't help but think that they were being rude. At least Laney didn't talk completely in the French. Otherwise, Jeremy would have thought they were chatting about him. Unless he was locked in a trunk, Jeremy figured they weren't. Jeremy didn't really know what to say, so he managed..."uhh?"

Carolanne laughed at Jeremy. "Oh yes, we have loads in common. Next thing you'll know, I'll be the one following you! Pray that it doesn't happen," she said with a small shake of her head. Laney bit her bottom lip and looked at him. What game is he getting at? She couldn't help but think he was trying to be the 'playboy' she had heard so much about. At least he kept her entertained. "Jeremy Wheller, we are as different as a cold winter night is from a warm summer afternoon," she retorted.
When he asked her if he should beat Cristian up, Laney shook her head, "Naw I can handle it," she said with a small laugh. Sure, things weren't going great for her, but it wasn't something that needed to be settled like that.
Carolanne rolled her eyes at Ashton, "Oh please, like you don't take any of my stuff," she retorted. She turned her attention back to Jeremy, "Sorry, he's going on about his missing clothes. I'm currently holding his favorite shirt for ransom," she whispered the last sentence to him so Ash wouldn't hear.

"I suppose I'm the cold winter night." He said, his smile vanishing for a second, but then her regained his mental ground.
Jeremy was a different kind of character. He was a talker and a flirter, but it was hard to tell when he was sincere or not. He couldn't even tell you when he was sincere or not. He all of the time gets the feelings of wanting and liking mixed up. It was not a good feeling. Jeremy became sullen about it a lot of the time. He had come to realize that he lets things go with out ever knowing what they meant to him. He wished his heart didn't seem so cold when it was actually red hot and confused.
"Right. I figured as much." Jeremy said with a smirk. "You could probably take him." Jeremy looked at her, she obviously wasn't in the Cristian mood. "We can talk if you want to." Jeremy said, seriously. "Although, I'm probably really bad at talking and giving advice, but I guess, if you feel like it." Was this the human Jeremy? Was he finally found?
"Oh.." Jeremy said, shaking his head in thanks. Now that he was no longer confused, he was just bored. Way to kill a mood Ashton.
