Dark sunglasses shaded the half vampire's eyes from the nearly unbearable sun. He was shaded by the leaves of the tree he was leaning against, but didn't want to take any chances. Looking out over the lake, he took a drag of the cigarette placed between two of his fingers.
Killian wasn't really sure what he was doing outside anyway. Maybe because it was such a beautiful day or maybe he just wanted to feel a little normal. The scent of the other students around him reached his nose, triggering his everlasting hunger for the essence of life. He just had to ignore it. For now.
Killian hooked his thumb into his pocket and took another long drag. He exhaled with an audible sigh and puff of smoke. He needed to find something to do before he lost control. He reached up and plucked a green leaf from a low branch and held the butt of the cigarette to it. He burnt holes in the leaf until there wasn't any more burning space.

While it was fun skirting detention, the process needed to be carried out very carefully. When the doorway from her common room swung open, Erys strode out, in cat form, and slunk throughout the hallways past the ever watchful teachers as they tried to find out who set off fireworks in one of the potions storage closets. Most of the students knew she was an animagus, but the faculty was an entirely different story.. Perhaps the headmaster alone knew, no idea. He hadn't been around as of late. Not like she cared.
Stepping outside into the sunlight, the bengal cat purred as the warmth hit her fur, parting her jaws to take a deep breath of air. She could smell everything. Students, the grass, the water, and.. Cigarette smoke. Keeping low, she quickly passed a bundle of first years, whom she had no idea if they were the kind to throw rocks or the like. Making her way down to the lake, following the scent of smoke - it being quite familiar, as her father smoked, but it wasn't a good memory - Erys arrived at the water's edge, glancing her little cat head this way and that.
Her acute senses on overdrive, the feline then noticed a Slytherin student resting in the shade of a tree. Sweeping her vivid green eyes over him, she assessed that he wasn't that bad, appearance wise. Then again, everyone in Slytherin was attractive.
Drawing closer, Erys closed her eyes, concentrationg on her bones shifting and rearranging, growing in weight and height, and soon there she stood, eyes wide and lips full. "The sunlight not agreeing with you?" She remarked knowingly, not bothering to ask before she took a seat in the shade. She hated it as well, always finding ways to walk in the darkness. She wasn't afraid of the light, but it gave killer sunburns. "Erys Grace."

Killian had heard the feline's paws, probably inaudible to anyone else at Hogwarts, crunching across the grass. He didn't give any attention to it until it's scent changed. Killian nearly jumped out of his skin when a girl was standing before him. How unusual.
Of course, he didn't really jump. No, it would be degrading to show any sign of weakness or surprise. He just was not expecting for a cat to disappear and a girl to appear in it's place.
As she spoke, Killian looked her over behind his sunglasses. Not bad, he decided. He dropped the burnt leaf and flicked the butt off to the side. "You could say that." He muttered to her remark. "I'm Killian Johnson." He looked down at her as she sat in the grass. It would probably be more polite to sit with her. So he did. "So, whats going on, what are you up to, how're you doing?" He offered a lopsided smile.

He didn't appear surprised, but she could smell just a twinge of it on him. Cats were susceptible to emotions, that way. Cracking a knowing smile, as in, no point in trying to hide it but good job seeing as we're Slytherins, Erys watched as he sat with her, pleased. Opening her mouth slightly at the myriad of questions, she mock-sighed with a smile and a shake of her head, "Well lets see.. I aced my Dark Arts assignment, some Gryffindor likes me, a Ravenclaw is trying to act all bad-ass around me, I'm talking to you right now, and I'm doing great." And there you have it!
"You?" Erys added amiably, grateful for his company seeing as the level of Slytherin activity had been reduced to a near zero, with her shakily keeping it afloat. She had a feeling her luck would change, with the amount of housemates appearing and shaking everything up.
Sneaking a discreet glance at him while his eyes were elsewhere, Erys concluded that he cleaned himself up quite nicely. Like his thought about her, she too thought, not bad.

"Sounds rather eventful." He draped his arm over his bent knee and idly picked at the threads of the gaping hole in his jeans. "I haven't really been up to much. Doing a whole lot of this, actually. Fun, eh?"
Removing his sunglasses, Killian momentarily squinted his green eyes against the overwhelming brightness. "A Gryffindor with a crush and a badass Ravenclaw, hm? If I were you I'd show that Ravenclaw what badass really is..and maybe play with the Gryffindor's heart a bit." It sounded a bit cruel and heartless..but Killian never really knew anything more than that. That thought produced yet another halfhearted smirk.
"Serves them right, doesn't it, to show them what happens when they step out of their league?"

Erys chuckled, nodding once to his question. Oh, this sure was fun. Especially if you were by yourself. Being alone didn't phase her or anything, there was always something to do. Particularily she liked to cast a hover spell on herself and make herself float in the common room and the great hall.
Licking her lips, the Slytherin smirked, "Oh, I plan to. I have something in mind." Her and Jessica Duval had been discussing it in the common room with her brother, Matthew. The decision had been made that she should play with Leon, almost literally a game of cat and mouse. She'd chew him up and spit him out. As for Jeremy.. She didn't mind Ravenclaws unless they threatened a Slytherin or stuck their abnormally large noses in her business. For now, what'd happen with him was undecided.
From the moment she laid eyes on him, she could tell he was the definition of a true Slytherin. Cruel, loyal only to his house (or perhaps just himself), cunning. A perfect match. Watching him squint as he removed his sunglasses, Erys shrugged it off, sure it was because of him wearing his shades for too long. As for his last comment..
Her face calm and collected, her expression cool, Erys agreed completely, "Yes it does." Compelled to ask him when he transfered to Hogwarts, but reluctant to change the subject, she just sat there quietly, not at all scared or numb. She was polite after all, to those of her house. Unless they tried to pull the wannabe-queen bee act and try to force her down from her throne. That was a no-no. She'd wait for him to prompt the conversation further.
