[Forest] Old Faces, New Games

[Max Hennerdale]

So Max hadnt been around in goodness only knew how long. Though he had gone on a vacation, and a well needed one at that. Upon his return to Hogwarts, he had come back with a completley different attitude, he had the attitude the old Maxi had. The one who just wanted to have fun and laugh, get into dangerous situations and be around his friends stress free! Maxi had had a lot of time to think and came to one small conclusion, life was too short to dwell on things. Deal with it, move on; have fun!

And that was what Maxi intended on doing.

He hadnt seen any of the people he was used to being around like Ash, Fay, Bray or even Laney though he was giving them time as well as he was sure they had a lot going on between themselves without a rather hyper and crazy Max to deal with. He found himself teetering on the edge of the forest in a Should I, Shouldnt I sort of way. He had been in here plenty of times before so the forest wasnt new to him, though he was treating everything like it was new now. Max was back, and my god did he plan on having fun!

He already had some of this week planned, he was going to surprise Bray and Fay and do something they hadnt seen him do in a very long time. Something along the lines of, "Look what I can do" and just stand there and smile at them. Sure, they'd think he was crazy but it might make them laugh. Bray and Fay were two people he cared about and he was going to make them laugh again on his behalf, not stress.

Not much of a challenge no?

So biting his bottom lip, he had a hand on one of the trees, (not himself since he was sometimes called a tree) as he peered into the blackness. His insides were jumping in excitement, it had been too long since he had felt like this. Too long since he had enjoyed anything, but he was leaving the depressing Max behind and coming out of his shell. There was no more confusion in his mind, he knew what he wanted and he no longer felt all "Oh noes" about anything. He also planned on widening his circle of friends, finding new people and having laughs with them.

Hearing something or someone coming up behind him, the blonde giant turned around with a grin on his face, another Gryffindor, one of the popular trio was heading his way. With a smirk he simply said;

"My my, to what do I owe the pleasure of your carbuncle?"

“Carbuncle?” Harrison questioned as he wondered towards his fellow Gryffindor. “Is that your word of the day Hennerdale because it is pretty long for you?”

A smirk filled the face of Harrison walked down the grass bank towards the tall blond haired boy. Although Harrison and Maxi had shared the same commonroom for many years they were never the type to bond full. They would talk from time to time if there was no one else around but nothing actually drew them together. With this fact in mind it might make you wonder why Harrison Greg was walking towards Maxi and on top of that going near the forbidden forest.

Blowing his fringe out of his eyes Harrison stopped a few feet away from Maxi and gave the guy a charming smile finding it hard to enjoy the fact that this was the guy that a few months ago was gay. Looking away from Maxi Harrison looked over his shoulder and towards the darkness of the forest trying to hide his displeasure of the dirt and potential jean ripping plants that it held.

“So why are you looking into the forest then Hennerdale? Thinking you need to prove your masculinity mate?”

"As a matter of fact Greg it is" He gave a slow smirk before folding his arms, "I'll have you know I know many long words. I dont have the vocabulary of a four year old you know"

Maxi watched as the 'popular' came closer to him. He could see the cogs working in Harrisons head thinking this time three months back, he was gay. Though in all honesty, Maxwell didnt much care for other peoples opinions anymore. He realised they were never that important anyway. Max was his own person once more, and that meant never listening to what others thought about you cause thats when things start to go wrong.

The two boys who were now face to face had never really had any form of conversation that wasnt in the common room or in a lesson, so this was new ground for them. In fact the last thing he remembered telling Harri was that Max was gay, though that wasnt exactly true anymore was it. This brought another smirk to his face followed in sucession by a slight laugh. He watched as Harri's eyes scanned behind him and into the forest, was he scared of being in there or something? Not much of a Gryffindor then was he?

"I dont need to prove anything Greg" He smiled as he looked over his shoulder and into the dangerous black abyss, "You fancy a trip in there? Or is this where the bravery of Harrison Greg ends?"

“Well it is nice to see they teach you things in those foreign schools then.”

That may have come across as a very predigest remark about the quality of teaching of the schools over seas but Harrison’s father was German and hade attended Durmstrung and he was always moaned that the teaching standards were much better at Hogwarts and had he gone there as a child he would be in a much better job then he was in now. (He actually joked about being The Minster of Magic but for some reason Harrison could not help but doubt that fact)

Looking back to Maxi from the forest he was quite put off to see the boy smiling at him, at first his natural instinct was that the gay guy was going to kiss him but the smirk was soon replaced with the almost mocking tone of his fellow Gryffindor teasing him about the forest. With a small cough to clear his throat Harrison looked back at the forest, and the creepy looking trees and he could have sworn he saw movement in the darkness.

“I am only brave when I have to be Hennerdale. I do not see how walking in a forest proves if you are brave or not…just shows a lack of common sense.”

Harrison actually surprised himself with the level of determination that sounded out in his voice. In all honesty he was scared of the forest, anyone with sense would be, but that was not to say he had not been in before. Jac Biggerstall could vouch for that although you most likely would get a fit of giggles before hand as Harrison had not been the most cool and composed person as they wondered through between the trees.
