It was rare for Mayella to leave the Hogwarts grounds completely, but there were certain situations where it was necessary, such as today's where she sneaked all the way off to the ministry in her lunch break. When having two jobs, you're supposed to balance them but that's never really how she did things. She would completely devote herself to something, but that meant one thing at a time for Mayella. Lately it's been Transfiguration, not her ministry duties, that was the focus of getting her paycheck and Ms. Grace obviously didn't like that, if her letters were any way to tell this. But, who knows, maybe she was only imaging that the letters were starting to suggest she come in now or some ministry dogs would come hunt her down and drag her in? She also mentioned that there was a knew approach and theory about underage animagi that she didn't trust to send in letter form, meaning that it probably was classified only to their department for now.
For her own safety and dignity, she walked with her head held high into her old workplace and passed the many blocks of offices. It's only been a mere six-years that she worked in the Ministry, but her face wasn't all that well-known. May was always a field worker, even now where it's her duty to keep a low-profile and keep an eye on the student animagi. Who would suspect their young Transfiguration teacher to do something like this, especially considering that only those in the Animagus department knew she actually was an animagus herself. It's not like she was even trying to get people in trouble, either; the law was the law, and if you're going to be an animagi, be good about it and get yourself approved by the hand of judgement -- ahem, I mean, Amelia Grace.
Stopping at the large wooden doors, she had to pause and control herself for a moment. 'She better not go all cobra on me like she did last time, that woman has such a crude idea of fun.' She thought with a shudder before she brought herself to knock twice sharply then crack the door open.
"Good day, Amelia, have you been well?" She said pleasantly on her first step into the office and glanced around for said witch.
