Helen sighed and closed her book. The feeling of finishing a book is great, but then there is always the desire to start another one right after. If she went back to the library, it would be her fourth time today, and Helen certainly did not want to bother anyone by going back again. Maybe her mother could send a classic from home. The Tiani's had a fairly large library, with bookshelves from floor to ceiling covering every wall. Many would think that in such a large space, one would not feel cozy. On the contrary, Helen felt very comfortable in the library.
Her thoughts continued along the line of books and what ones she enjoyed as plopped down onto the ground. A light breeze ruffled her hair, making a strand tickle her cheek. Helen continually tried to get the strand off by blowing, making random huffing noises as she did. Finally, Helen surrendered and had to remove the hair by brushing it off with her hand. A small glitter caught her eye.
Ah, yes. The ring her mother gave her. It was a silver band with a large sapphire in the middle, surrounded by diamonds. It was an ancient item, passed down from generations of Ravenclaw women in the family. Her mother had given it to her on her sixteenth birthday, a tradition of the Loqfair family. Helen felt a surge of pride to be one of the many owners of the ring.
There was a small ruffling noise, scattering her thoughts. It could have been the grass. The grounds seemed to hissing in the wind. Strange. I could have sworn I heard a voice...(( allaboutsapphires.org/uploaded_images/sapphire%20ring.jpg ))

Felicity threw her cloak over her shoulder and walked out of the school. This week had been so stressful, it was suprising that Fay could even act normal in her classes. She felt like she needed some sort of stress reliever, but Quidditch was out because Ash would find her there.
The veela took out a quill and her lyrics as well. So far, she had the chorus down, and now she certainly had inspiration to finish the rest of the song. She doubted Calypso would be playing this at all though, for obvious reasons.
She happened to look up and noticed she had almost walked straight into the back of another Ravenclaw. "Whoops! Sorry." Felicity shifted over and plopped down next to the girl. Upon further inspection, she saw that the girl was none other than Helen Tiani. "Hey Helen, being the good little bookworm again?"

Alexa had eventually made her way outside onto the lawns. She got a little lost being new the school, and it being her first day since she transferred. She saw two girls chatting, and they seemed friendly. She could sense a hint of anger and frustration from one of the girls, and she knew she was a Veela, like herself. Knowing this, she wandered up to the girls and was going to attempt to make conversation and roots here, starting with friends. "Urm, Hi. This sounds stupid, but I'm new here today, and erm well, I wondered if I could talk to you?" she said. She always did this, made herself known, but felt stupid while doing so. She gave a slight cough, then smiled at the pair. "I'm Alexa Prince" she said.

Helen looked through squinted eyes for her almost-attacker. Immediately recognizing Felicity Locke, Helen smiled. "Of course I am being the good little bookworm. When am I not?" She laughed. Helen had a reputation for reading all the time. Whether it was during class (which often got her into trouble) or at 2:00 in the morning, she could always be found with a book in her hand.
"So what have you been up to lately, Felicity?" Helen knew many others called her Fay, but she didn't know her quite that well to be calling Felicity nicknames. Again the wind blew, carrying a new voice. This one Helen did not recognize. It was a girl. Upon hearing her name, Alexa, Helen realized she seemed a little nervous. She smiled warmly and patted the ground next to her. "Of course. My name's Helen Tiani, pleasure to meet you Alexa."

Felicity rolled her eyes at the girl and reached over to shut her book. "Yes well, I'm far more interesting than a book. Plus it's rude to read while someone is talking to you." She stuck her tongue out at Helen and laughed.
Someone else had come by, and Fay could feel herself stiffen. Hmph, another veela. Goosebumps rose on her arms, and she shifted a bit away. The nearness felt strange to her, but she couldn't quite describe it in words.
"I'm Felicity Locke. A pleasure to meet you." Rumors were probably flying around school about her by now, since most of the school had witnessed her little outburst. She tried to ignore the jabs she recieved, and just held her head high as she walked past those stupid gits.

Lex smiled and sat where Helen had just patted. "So what are you reading?" she asked, pulling her legs in and hugging them. She gave a quick glance to Felicity and smiled. "Veela arn't you?" she smirked kindly. She was perfect, so there's no reason why she wouldn't be. It was hard to cope being a Veela sometimes, as others feelings became so intense. She had a bond with Felicity straight away just for the fact that they were the same.

Helen stuck her tongue out back at Felicity and shook her head a bit. Her attention turned back to Alexa when the girl asked a question. "I'm reading a new romance story. It just came out about two weeks ago. My mother saw it and decided to send me a copy. Pretty cover, isn't it?" She traced the lettering with her long finger and was lost for a moment in her dreams. Helen quickly shook her head to clear her thoughts and smiled. "Sorry about that. I tend to lose myself sometimes...sometimes meaning a lot" Helen laughed.
A brow rose as Helen noticed Felicity stiffen. Odd...I wonder why she would be acting strangely toward Alexa. She left that thought alone, deciding it would be better to leave the matter alone.

Alexa looked back over to Helen and smiled. "Yeah, It is pretty. You'll have to let me know if it's good!" She said, flicking a bit of her fringe out of her eye. "Your a big reader then?" she questioned Helen and she began daydreaming again, she laughed. "I'll have to get used to it then, won't I?" she said laughing again. She had a quick though of whether she was being annoying.

Felicity glanced over to Alexa as she smiled at her, but said nothing. She didn't respond to the veela comment, just turned her gaze back to Helen. That girl didn't have as much of an effect on her as her mother did, so that meant she couldn't be totally veela. That was good.
"Sometimes? I'm surprised you can actually walk from place to place without getting lost. You daydream more than I do, and that's saying something."
She rolled her eyes at Helen and stuck her tongue out at her. Silly girl.

Alexa started to feel uncomfortable. Did Felicity have a problem with her? Maybe she was wrong about wanting to be friends with her because they were the same. Maybe she didn't like her being part-veela. She decided to change the subject, and try and get involved a little more. "So, do either of you know my brother Cristian Martinez? I'm his long lost sister!" She said, remembering herself, that she had finally found her brother after her searching for seven long years. Seven years of cunning to look into private files to find little snippets of details about him, but it was all worth it.

Helen nodded "Yes, I am a big reader. My entire family is. My siblings and parents are or were Ravenclaws, so that explains it. And yes, you will have to get used to my daydreaming. It's a horrible habit to have, but it expands one's imagination."
"Ok, I only got lost a couple of times. But that was because I was distracted from...talking. Yea, talking." Helen quickly said to Felicity, trying to keep her face straight. Her defense soon failed horribly and the girl started to laugh. "My, my! I'm a mess, aren't I?"
Her attention was turned back to Alexa at the mention of Cristian. "Yes, the name sounds familiar. I believe I've seen him a couple of times, but I never spoke to him." Hearing her second comment, she was immediatly interested. "What do you mean by 'long-lost sister'?" It reminded her of a book she once read.

Alexa smiled. "Well, it's a long story, but basically our parents got murdered and we got taken into care. I got adopted but Cristian was kept in a foster home. We never saw each other again, but I've been searching for seven years to find him. And now, i'm here!" She said, explain all of this with a lot of hand actions, finally ending by slapping her hands down onto her lap.

Felicity snorted at Helen. "Excuse me? A couple of times? I'd say way more than that." She layed back on the grass and placed her hands behind her head. Mm, nice, sunny day. Perfect for basking. Gah, now she was getting like Bray. Stupid Bradyn and his cat..ness.
Fay stiffened visibly at Cristians name. Her eyes widened slightly, and she quickly worked to relax herself and to wipe her expression. Long lost sister? That meant Cris probably told her about Fay and Bray.
She would be ready to bolt if necessary, but so far the girl hadn't shown any visible hatred or anything toward Fay. That was good, perhaps Cristian hadn't told the girl about Felicity yet.

Helen smiled at Alexa. "Good for you guys! You seem very excited to be here with him. But I am sorry about what happened with your parents...very unfortunate." she said, her smile turning sympathetic.
Focusing her gaze on Fay, Helen remarked with mock offense, "And how would you know, Miss Felicity, whether or not I become lost often? One might assume you spy on me." She smirked and nudged her friend playfully in the arm. "I might have to report you for invasion of privacy!" Helen exclaimed, her mouth turning into an almost comical O.
